Ok, since I haven't seen it in this thread I have to ask.

What *exactly* is your process for catching Kuer's and Ruby's.
When do you show up?
What do you surface slap?
Do you all the non !!! bites go?
When and what time do you cast out with your Ku'er to start mooching?
etc etc


Ruby's a pain, I get that, it's frustrating (I definitely get that), but as someone who's been watching this thread from a distance, what's your method? Can I offer some tips on maybe even further optimizing your chances?

Ok, so you're not reeling in anything that isn't a !!!. You're slapping something. It doesn't actually have to be Coeurl Eel Snake, contrary to what I say in the guide. It's the one everyone defaults to in general due to it having a similar bite time as Ku'er. I will usually use Glass tuna or whatever I catch first. (I'm making an ammendment to the guide now to include this)
After you get your first Ku'er and get your first loop, are you still waiting to slap a Coeurl Eel Snake? or just slapping the first thing you after the loop breaks?

Im just slapping whatever but I usually find that Coeurl have a higher rate then the rest.

Hi! it me.

Unfortunately, you're just unlucky. You're not alone out there in having Ruby elude you for this long. It's a rough fish and you'll get it soon.

I guess the only other tips I would suggest that I didn't cover in my guide would be:

• If you can, hi-cordials to replenish your GP are clutch and easy to get. You can maintain Patience II constantly with them.
• If you have the GP to be able to, it can be ok to refresh Patience II when it's getting low you have more of a chance to keep up a full duration Mooch loop.
• Use Chum if you're GP's maxed, just to save yourself a few seconds.
• I also recommend finding folks to fish with, the sting of not getting a fish can be lessened when you're surrounded by others who... haven't gotten it either. If you're not part of the Fisher's Horizon discord, I would recommend checking them out. Can commiserate together with other fisher's in a similar spot as you.

Yep I'm doing all thats just bad luck, or the game is rigged against me which is what I was hoping to determine with the other posted thread.

Seemed like everyone who complained on The Ruby Dragon managed to catch it one month later, so I thought I would try that. XD

Complaining is the best bait, as it has been proven.

And yea, some folks get it first try, others within a week and some it's even taken a year+. You're not an outlier yet, just keep at it!

Four Kuers mooched in total, what a joke.

Next window is tonight at 11:21 pm

And failed again.

5 Kuers in 12 minutes and they all missed on their first mooch.

Next window is in 2 hours, cant make it because I love my sleep more then I hate this fish.

Next window after that is Wednesday at 10:51 AM est.

Really wish they fix this fish in 5.58. Can't believe all the time I wasted on this.

in the 10 minutes before the window, 2 kuers got away,
in the 12 minutes DURING the window 2 other kuers got away.

I managed to fish ZERO kuers.

This seems to be the same for many in the chatroom I was in. DO something devs!

Last patch fish are all more difficult to catch. It took me over a year and a half to get 3 from heavensward.

Sea butterfly, charibenet, and reimdellopterus.

I only finished the last last night. I'd only ever gotten 4 bites on it, and all of them happened in the last 3 days. Before that? Not a single bite.

I only have Cinder and Salad left for 5.55, and I managed to get a bite on my 2nd Cinder attempt, unlike ruby Dragon, no bite in 2 years.

I'm 100% confidant that those will be done by November, despite their 11 / 14 days window downtime.

Ruby Dragon is on another level completely and it seems bias towards me, and many others.

The RNG for fishing might merit some inspection by the dev team. Its not normal

Its currently serving a life sentence in my retainer's inventory until the day the game allows us to display it in an aquarium, where it shall be displayed with my other hard to get wavekins.

Only, because it's !!! that's always a 50% chance of it missing.
