I got them all to 80 and the next patch increased their exp gain.
I basically did double the work lol :(
I did cause I wanted the title, nothing more.
I legit was planning to level up Trust but Urianger/Alphinaud tend to die on the 2nd boss of Holimenster because they forget to heal or get stuck in the puddles so I pretty much gave up on that.
Plus playing with Trusts does not feel like playing with Squadron and I leveled everybody up to 60. You see how hilarious overpowered the squadron members are once they hit max Offense and can steamroller most of fights and mechanics (although they are still stupid, doing Wanderer Palace Hard without being tank is painful in the end)
Not really. I don't really see the benefit in doing so for myself when I can just rund duty finder/roulettes, unless I get really curious about any additional dialogue I missed with certain character participating with me. :/
I did, before they actually buffed the exp gain. It was painfull and useless, I don't want to do it again.
On top of that, I tested a few things:
A clear while actively doing DPS will take 20 to 25 minutes. A clear with actual people will take less than that.
A clear while not doing DPS will take 25 to 30 minutes because the trusts starts using their burst action such as Urianger instant kill. When I leveled tank or DPS, it was better to pull and afk, you lose 5 minutes but you can do something else for 25 minutes, except bosses.
I always do a first run with trusts and never touch them again. They need to reward being active, why not the trusts buffing your damage and you could go banger while they continue their single target rotation.
In short, they're useless except if you want to afk while leveling.
Let's be honest, they've been made even more useless with the addition of Bozja leveling.
It would be nice if you could jump into a dungeon here and there with them while leveling a job, but the fact that they are stuck at Holminster's Switch level if you did not level them prevent that.
I didn’t realize you could level trusts until I read this thread, I dont think I’ve ever touched it before.
Waaaaay too boring
got a few to lvl73 from trying to level my NIN to 80 during the lul in the day where q times are guaranteed to be longer than 30 minutes.
I will NEVER EVER level trust. There is absolutely no value in it. And no, I do not count the elimination of q times a boon since any runs in trust completely negate the 1 waiting time anyways with how horribly slow everything goes.
I tried it once....
On average: A dungeon run with Actual players, at best takes 12-15 minutes and at worst maybe 20 minutes
When I ran switch with trusts; it took us nearly 30 minutes to complete
never again
Painfully slow and boring. No way. They are level 71,the default level.
Maybe one of the big reasons why I won't is that I don't really like any of these Scion characters.
It's not that bad to level seconday jobs. Though the pace of leveling the Scions is really slow.
I got all the Trusts to 80 right after I completed 5.0 Main Scenario. Getting two alt jobs to 80 was all it took to complete them all and while the dungeon runs are slower than with other PCs, it was nice for whenever I didn't want to play with other people in the moment (like my most recent Dark Knight in Twinning who spammed Unleashed and never pressed a single other button the whole dungeon - not even to finish the combo).
Plus, the interactions of the Scions was interesting to see, as well as the dialogue throughout the dungeons.
Understandably, not everyone will make use of the Trust system but that hardly means it's a waste of development resources.
I wanted to level all jobs so it was easy to do at the same time as I was leveling a tank and a dps.
In general I've noticed that people spend far too much time grinding the same thing multiple times when they could stack their objectives and do it in one go. Why max everything with leveling roulette and boring msq roulette, and then grind trusts, bicolor gemstones, wolf marks, relics, sightseeing log, beast tribes and other things when you are already 80? You can complete side content with alt jobs and gain "free" xp for them.
I did it, but it was very boring and I only did it because it was there and I haven't touched the Trust system since then. SE even increased the experience points the Trust NPCs get in patch 5.05 and it still feels really crazy slow. It must have been horrific before that patch...
Future MSQ dungeons will likely let you use the trust that one time for the quests (even if they're not levelled), I'm not looking forward to levelling them to 90 in the expansion (whichever NPCs we get that is)...
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Level TRUSTS???? to 80! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
In short: you couldn't pay me to struggle through dungeons with them.
I think I did one or two dungeons with trust and decided I preferred the people debuff over them
Literally forgot this was a thing until I saw this thread. Didn't think there was much reason to since as far as I could tell there weren't any rewards or anything, and it seemed like doing just about anything else was a faster way to level. And now I have everything at 80 so I mean. Unless it gives something neat, why bother? I don't see much point.
I'm gonna use them to lvl Sage and Reaper to 80 in EW. Two birds in one stone.
I do. Mainly to help my jobs lvl and get the dyes and gear to give for seals
I wanted the Amaro mount so I bascially leveled a lot of my jobs with either trusts or HoH. They were slow and sometimes quite annoying but at the same time, I did not need to fear horrible other players and if I felt like taking a break I could just stand back and let them slowly kill their trash mobs. Also they are great for learning new boss mechanics.
So yeah got them all to 80.
I will, eventually. I don't necessarily try to complete stuff just because it's there, if it's group based I might leave it alone, but I slowly chip away at most solo objectives. It's not motivation, so much as simply how I play the game.
Lol same thing happens to me with those two expect mine tends to occur during the first boss of Malikah's Well, the Greater Armadillo. Instead of running away from the proximity based AOE, they run towards it (not at full HP), get hit with a critical and die... yeah good times XD. I've learned to bring Alisaie along now; she will raise them :) Her AI prioritizes that if someone dies. Well, expect me of course lol...
I leveled them up on my main, mostly because I was trying to cap every job anyway, so I figured why not kill two birds with one stone? If you do a healer and a dps, you only have to level two 'sets' of npcs as well.
It's the same with shared fates, I ground all those out to rank 3 while leveling jobs.
If I hadn't decided I wanted to level everything though I doubt I'd have bothered with either of them though.
I would if they used aoe, but it doesn't seem worth the time tbh
I leveled up almost every job at max lvl (blue mage only missing job) and never tried to lvl my trust because i don't see any reason to do it.
And it's boring to do tbh.
I tried leveling some of them, but it's just so boring that it wasn't worth it
I was going to just because it would be nice to have them in my back pocket in case I wanted to do a run of something specific and didn't want to wait the cue time for it... but I tapped out early. I don't even remember if I got them to level 73 or not. While I appreciate that they actually do mechanics and have personalities they just feel like such a step back from Squadrons in every other way. I miss being able to dress the Squadrons up and raise their tactics types. I also miss how powerful Squadrons could get and the micro management you had in ordering them to engage and disengage.
So yeah, I did want to level Trusts to 80 but I just couldn't maintain interest
I have every job at 80 so no. I prefer to do my dungeons etc with people than an NPC. Though I know for leveling some of my DPS jobs it might have been faster, you can get some nice banter with randoms from other servers! I never really noticed the dps que since I would be doing something on my second screen or crafting during it anyway.
The Armadillo has several attacks in a row that make you move out then in, so maybe the AI is getting ahead of itself and positioning for the attack afterwards.
Also Alisaie isn't guaranteed to Verraise, unfortunately - I did Malikah's Well the other day with a trust party and she just left Alphinaud dead for a good minute or so during the final boss. I think he eventually just respawned without getting raised first.
Same. I was leveling all jobs, and there were some where I perform so bad a healer could out-dps me, and tanking gave me a special kind of anxiety, so doing it with trusts was a lot less stressful at the time.
Originally it was painful to level them so the massive XP boost made it a lot better, but I'm not doing that again, my alt's trusts will all stay at 70
I don't even know what this post is talking about. Is this squadron stuff?
Do you have to level them for them to be used later in MSQ? Because I really don't want to chain run Holminister Switch 20 times, I'll be 80 before I finish the fairy kingdom. ><
Nop, hopefully, during MSQ, they have the right level. You only need to level them to run the dungeons "solo" (tomes farm/secondary jobs levelling) outside the MSQ.
Note : They are synchronized during the extension leveling. As soon as you don't reach the max level you can play them even for secondary jobs. To be more clear : ShB it was possible to run secondary jobs 70 to 80 as soon as your main didn't reach the first 80 dungeon and cleared it. As soon as the final dungeon is cleared, you need to level them to run dungeons again.
Hm.
I see.
Good to know. I got another job I'm working on so I'll hold off at that point.
Nope. I legit see no reason to. Why on earth would I run all these ShB dungeons dozens of times for nothing but Trust XP? I don't need anything else from any of these.
