Sadly I committed to the meme. Worth it.

Gotta agree. Meme worthy yes, but I don't think the makers would like being called cowards XD. Maybe we should make an offical thread like the viera/hrothgar ones? Or just rename this one? Either way haha! I could look to the old 'Mogifesto' thread, but sadly that thread died last year, and you know, necro-ing old threads be looked down upon and all that!
Don't feel like we need them now, but I think they should have been added originally instead of lalafel. Moogles are a damned staple!
Honestly, if we get something new, I would like to see more clans added to existing races using existing assets.
Garleans for Hyur. A more draconic take on Au Ra, like the original concept art. And so on.
As much as I'd love to bring the old thread back (thework and detail the original poster put in was amazing!) I'm just not sure if we're allowed. I'd hate for us to revive it only for it to be locked. Hmmm... May be safer to start a new one. Wish we could ask the original poster about it XD
LUL but they are cowards for not adding another smol race.
They said no more new race, period.
Just because they said no new race, doesn't mean we can't put on what we want to see in the game in a future, almost everyone wanted male viera and now we get it.
If i wish loporrits or anything else similar, i will fight till the end of the game to try to get them
I’d love to see them as a playable race if ivalice moogles can’t be done.
I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED playable Loporrits!
What is all this nonsense.
They gave you playable bunnies.
They gave you more playable bunnies.
And still you guys won't shut up about wanting MORE buns in the game.
Literally *any* other race would be more creative and interesting than Ivalican moogles or Loporrits.
Consumers have the tiniest minds.
Be careful what you wish for!
As far as I'm concerned Viera are just another neko-face race. Not even close to bunnies, more like anime bait. All that makes them different from an average human is ears and height. I don't find that particularly interesting, and that label applies to most of the races in this game (Elezen and Lalafell are worse in that regard, only reason I even play the latter is for the more accurate moogle cosplay). As a Hrothgar player you should be able to understand that given the only major differences from you and a male roe is textures and the head and tail models (and obviously the stances that come with that). Hell I made a hroth alt just because my sister's FC was full of lala and I wanted the experience with her to be different from my static FC.
I would rather they didn’t implement any new races until the pre-existing issues with Viera and Hrothgar are fixed, and completely up to standard with the other races.
@Grimoire-M
Viera in XIV are meant to be based on their XII appearance but due to complications, SE had to scrap the idea of digitigrade feet and beast-like appearance. I don’t think SE would have originally intended for it to be just another ‘Neko-race’ - as their XII appearance is iconic and what the race is best known for… but yeah, limitations a b*tch.
Speaking of limitations, if ivalician moogles were brought in no one would play as them because they would have just as much, if not, more restrictions than viera and Hrothgar.
Yeah, but Viera are just humans with bunny ears essentially. Same with Miqot'e except with cat ears. I mean at least the Au'ra and Hrothgar were fairly creative in their design and not just humans with different ears. I say this would add a bit more variety to the playable species if they don't do them a disservice and shuffle them off as just another beast tribe. Plus it would be nice to have another smol race.
Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before they cave in and add an adorable tiny race.
I hope they first overhaul character creation to fix its issues and make it easier to add in new customization options. For example, if they manage to unlink facial hair from face choice, then it becomes easier to add in new facial hair types. They would even be able to add in new modern aesthetic items which unlock new beards, such as Ramuh's which touches the floor.
I also hope that they learned their lesson from making Viera and decide to standardize the ear position and angle of the new animal-eared races, so they don't run into issues with hats again.
Neko people are neko people. I've played enough korean MMOs and watched enough anime to recognize it's just a trope, and that's the apropo label even with the legs differing. And to me it's bland as a result. All that's missing is the bands beneath their ears to make them a Playboy outfit and that's enough to make me roll my eyes whenever one comes along. That's just my response. It's purely a matter of taste. Doesn't matter that they're environmentalists in the lore to me either. We have Elezen for that already thanks to Gridania. By contrast Ivalice Moogles are techies and gearheads with an affinity for magic, akin to the Dwarves we meet in the First, though notably more skilled with Airships, meaning they'd fit well in the Ironworks and Garlemald. Loporrits actually do a good job paying homage to those aspects in the story too for what that's worth.
Still, I consider Ivalician Moogles more representative of Ivalice as a whole given the TA games were my entry point and in both the Viera aren't nearly as important to their respective plots (not featuring a major character at all in the latter, while the former only has a secondary character related to the tritagonist), but I get people fell for them through Fran's arc in XII. I would still rather Ivalice moogles over them if I had to pick between both (ideally wouldn't have to, but for what it's worth I'd also consider Nu Mou and Bangaa better alternatives compared to them as well for similar reasons, namely differentiating the races in a 'significant' manner appearance & body type wise). And I would 100% take more restrictions just to not have to wear the current mog mask anymore.
If they're going to add another small race, give us Meteions race.
Ivalice moogles would make no sense given we have the origins of moogles and every moogle in every land so far is the same. (Delivery Moogle is literally in Sharlayan)
I had a thought a few days ago of a race of mermaid/merman like people. They would borrow from the Midlander tribe and have shimmering scales not unlike like Au Ra in concept. Green/blue tones for skin for one tribe and light yellow/red tones or the other, but they would always have fish scales that would shimmer depending on light in the area. I personally wouldn't play one, but I just thought about something I don't see much in games or MMOs: playable aquatic characters.
I know the Loporrits originated in FF4 but ever since FF12 I was hoping for a playable race to be implemented in either FF11 or well now FF14. Though I've never really said anything about it since well I feel like in a lot of mmos having more beast like races is a rarity and I was content with the options we got so far but now with the loporrits being included in FF14 I genuinely hope that there is a demand for them to be added to the roster of races to choose from.
Ivalice Moogles/Loporrits would be something I'd look towards using my fantasia to, I've loved them rabbitoid Moogles ever since I played FFTA and was kind of disappointed they were in the game but as beastmen and with their classic appearance, they did my boy Montblanc really bad in the Ivalice raid, it'd be nice if they added them to the game in the future, even with limitations (they really don't have too many features in the games they appear other than their poms and fur being different).
Don't really get why there's people being such downers about the topic saying Lalafell/Vieras are enough for short/rabbit people, there's already Hrothgar (Burly/Feline people), it's not crazy to wish for playable smol rabbits.
Hell no. The empire was right all along.
PLEASE please please please please make them a playable race SE ;-;
I will immediately roll a loporrit.
It'll be my Astrologian and Cartographer. Her name? Starryway.
LOL I hope Square hears our pleas. At least make it something you can use phantasia to change to, since it wouldn't canonically make sense to start ARR as one.
I can see them using the Lalafell model as a base, keep the same basic animations, and change the head and textures and add a poof tail.
