"It's time to d-d-d-duel!"
Finally! The moment I started watching it I thought of YGO Abridged.
Of course they resorted to fat jokes. Hard pass. You'd think this community would be above that, even if Yoshida wasn't back in Fanfest 2014 to a RL cosplayer--and, you know, the thicc'qote rig being used as shorthand for everything "bad", and never used again.
Since this fanbase loves to advertise how warm and welcoming it is, I guess I hold it to a higher standard than, say, Warcraft's. My b.
because I, and others, find it laughable to get offended at a joke aimed at fat people, who, in +95% of the cases, are fat because they have no self control? I'm saying this as someone who fits this bill themselves, you know
grow some thicker skin befitting of your frame if jokes like that upset you, or better yet, eat healthier and lose the weight, your body will be thankful
never played WoW, by the way
Pretty sure it's just exaggerating the scene as it was originally written, where I think it's implied that part of why Chai-Nuzz is displeased with Alphinaud's painting is that he didn't idealize the subjects, particularly slimming out Dulia-Chai's figure. This could be viewed as making fun of fat-shamers, even if it may not be the most elegant way of doing so. Also, kind of the point of Chai-Nuzz is that he's small-minded and prudish at the beginning and grows out of it.
ALSO Dulia didn't order the potatoes, she is demonstrably responsible about her diet.
At Feo Ul: "I'm gonna eat you to increase my DPS!" ROFL, just Scholar things.
It is a generally welcoming community. There are always exceptions and people are human with human biases/prejudices.
You might also want to consider therapy if you're getting that offended by comedy content that is taking potshots at a lot of different human prejudices. Plenty of us are fat and take no offense because we know our value as individuals is more than our body weight.
