Was just about to post this but yup, was happy to see this today. Hopefully it’ll bring more attention to the issues.
I haven't played the game in a while and download the PS5 version that can't even run 4k 60FPS í ˝í˛€. Idk if that's bad for SE or Sony but one of the 2 companies has some explaining to do lol

Just pretending there’s nothing wrong with the PS5 and moving on. i don’t even need it to be fixed right away, i understand it’s crazy time for the dev team with Endwalker and we’re still in a pandemic. All i would like to see is someone from the team acknowledge the PS5 version issues.

I wanna raise this issue as PS5 version with framerates dropping is still a problem whether it's on 1080p or 1440p or 4k. It's worse when comparing to ps4 version playing on ps5 which is far more superior in terms of FPS. DF video is a good example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trIiUXdEyo0
I sincerely expect squareenix support team to fix this. The crisp UI and loading time is fantastic and it just left one thing to be fixed which is the framerate on 1080p and 1440p. I don't expect it to run amazing on 4k but just give us back the 1440p/60fps from the ps4 pro version apply with high resolution UI and fast loading. Thank you for your time SE tech support team.
I confirm this information. I played every day on PS5 and the FPS is a CRAP very bad optimization, guys. The Devs would be focus it and resolve this issues.
I just came back here after watching the Digital Foundry video to link it, but see it already has been posted. The video has perfect examples of the issues I described in my original post regarding the framerate dip and stutter on the native PS5 version. I'm running the PS4 version on the PS5 and have been since trying out the PS5 beta and seeing how poor it runs. I'm disappointed that SE has not even acknowledged the issue in this thread.
I finally broke down and went back to the PS4 version. The faster SSD and controller features just weren't worth the FPS drops. Hopefully closer to Endwalker things get resolved.
Checked some of the problem areas (outside the Crystal Tower, Ala Mhigo) of big frame hitching after 5.58 dropped to see if anything was fixed. Sad to report that, nope, still really crusty :c
Another patch, and still no fix for frame rate issue... And they say that PS5 is not in beta anymore. This is so disappointing that PS4 version in 1080p runs better than PS5 version in 1080p. And I still haven't seen info from dev team that they are working on this. I can't believe they don't know about it. Single trip to Bozja will give plenty of examples for fps drops. Even older content, like The Royal City of Rabanastre is just a pain to play.
The fact they didn't fixed it since april and zero communication, especialy now, when more people are giving a try to FFXIV is just... frustrating.
I feel you bro. I’ve been reading the patch notes and news to check on updates whether they’re paying any attention on this. I already went back to ps4 version to enjoy 60fps and forget the slighly faster loading speed and crisp UI. Maybe they’ll pay more attention to this after more PS5 users playing ff14 and complain about this. Only can put the hopes up
At this point, I'm not expecting anything to be fixed until Endwalker, if at all. The fact that they haven't even acknowledged the problem is concerning to me.
Here we are days before Endwalker is released and i can confirm that the PS5 version is still broken with all the same issues it has had since it was released in May. as far as i know nothing has been said by the dev team about this still. i’ve been playing this game since 1.0 and this has been the first thing that has happened ever since Yoshida took over the project that has truly surprised me that hasn’t been addressed. it’s such an obvious and weird situation.
I’m very concern about this since the beginning of ps5 version released and I was excited to play with crisp UI and locked 60fps on PS5 but unfortunately not only the performance on PS5 is bad and the team seems to be not taking this seriously and ignoring it completely. It’s sad that they gave us hope but didn’t address this issue. It seems like they have abandoned PS5 performance.
So the full Endwalker patch notes are out now and still nothing about the PS5 client issues. Total silence about this situation from any official source… please someone from the dev team reply to this thread. if it’s being worked on and there hasn’t been time to fix it due to the amount of work being done because of the expansion then i understand but this silence is painful.
I understand that under a sea of 2002, 5003 and other errors post Endwalker launch, devs are struggling to keep up with all the issues, but I wish this was at least recognized by them, and comment if they're working on it or not. PS5 performance is still very very lacking to this day. It's even worse in new areas.. Garlemald, for example, right around the first teleport is just horrible. Even empty areas like my housing ward, can struggle. It's frustrating especially because I want to delete the PS4 version off my PS5 to save space, but I can't because the PS4 version runs better than native PS5 version
Almost two months into Endwalker and ten months since the PS5 client release and still no acknowledgment from any official source about the PS5 native client issues. it’s truly mind boggling to see this happened with this dev team specifically. We need to try and keep this thread alive in hopes that it gets noticed cause at this point there’s not much else we can do.
Every patch I hope for any updates for PS5/console players but all I see is inaction which makes the community think that you don't care other then increasing profit. How is the treatment towards consoles any different from the acvtivision blizzard approach? With the console changes since the PS5 version came out it looks as if you've invested $0 on staff working on the console versions. I'd be happy with them giving an intern a chance to do anything. Examples an intern could do in a day are: a self dps meter or a full fight duration dummy that shows dps to theorycraft, adaptive triggers used for hotbars, a timer that starts when the boss is pulled, a mana tick indicator. The PC experience is just better atleast give console players some basic features to be competitive vs addons. I understand bigger updates like fixing framerates takes time but silence is the worst choice.
how many of you have actually confirmed your 4k tv is actually 60hz capable, or checked your cables?

So the live letter came and went and still nothing about the PS5 version’s issues. They even mentioned further optimizing the PS4 version in the future but not a single mention of the PS5 version… sigh.
Hi there, though it might sound weird, but I'm kinda glad that I'm not the only one experiencing these performance issues.
Adding myself to the list. PS5 player, insane graphical issues like mentioned image stuttering, insane drop on framerates, etc.. which are happening all-the-time & everywhere (be it crowded cities or completely empty zones, during dungeons / savage raids, or even if I'm alone in my cottage), just turn around the camera and voila, screen/image lags.
I'm playing on a 4k UHD TV, so the tv itself cannot be the issue. Been playing ps5 versions of multiple games (including MMOs -- could name other games but that might be contraproductive) and FFXIV is sadly the only game where I'm experiencing these issues. Also this issue was not present on ps4 version of the game.
Can someone from Dev team reply or officially label this as a bug to be fixed?
The PS5 version continues to have the same optimization issues in patch 6.1 and still no word from the dev team.
Yeah, at this point I'm not sure what else we can do.. no acknowledgement from the dev team.. plenty of documentation on the issue by several sources, and nothing. In the last patch I even noticed some lightning flickering in characters while doing MSQ too, weird horizontal lines popping up in the characters during cutscenes :/

The bug report was moved to accepted bugs but there's 177 pages of them.
Although there was no ps5 optimizations for 6.1, I notice my gcd rolls alot better. The 7th gcd in a ta window isn't tight anymore.

The following features have been implemented to improve graphics processing:
Graphics Processing Optimization
Frame rate when under higher GPU load has been improved.
Dynamic resolution has been implemented (Windows/PlayStation®4/PlayStation®5).
When the GPU is under heavy load and causing the frame rate to drop, the 3D resolution will be reduced incrementally to improve frame rate. This feature can be enabled under the Graphics Settings tab of the System Configuration menu.
* This feature cannot be applied in certain situations, such as when using group pose.
* This feature is still in its beta stage as of Patch 6.2. Its implementation is in preparation for further graphical improvements planned with the release of the next expansion. The functionality of this feature is subject to change.
Hopefully this helps and resolve the issue.. but I'm skeptical
i just now finally had the time to check this out and can confirm that this patch finally fixed the performance issues the PS5 version was having since launch. Apparently the dynamic resolution setting isn’t working correctly according to the notice on Lodestone but even with the setting off the performance issues are gone thanks to the graphics optimization they did. Every area i had frame rate drops now runs completely smooth.
i wish the developers would have been communicating about these issues all this time but thank you for finally fixing them regardless.

With the new patch it seems some areas are now better than others. However when you are in a congested area frame rate drops really bad. Especially in Radz-at-Han during reset on Tuesday’s. I went back to the PS4 application and found it runs a lot nicer still than the PS5 and has way more consistent frame rate. I hope one day the Devs can utilize what the PS5 has to offer for the PS5 port. I’m still grateful for what they do.
