Is a relic worth it?

200 tomestones of the disposable kind to get ilvl 500, an easier and more powerful weapon than you can get in many other places.

Sure, go do the first step. Anything after that is personal choice.

The problem is the raids. People are struggling to get through Castrum Lacus Litore now, never mind down the line when fewer and fewer people will be in Bozja at all. Delubrum Reginae is also going to be a bottleneck later, for similar reasons. Short of nerfing both straight into the ground or making the rewards completely absurd, they're going to be a massive struggle for anyone who isn't already working on it.

If you want to do it, do it, if you don’t, dont. But why are you playing the game if you don’t at least do one, to experience the story and content?

It will forever baffle me what they were aiming to achieve with Shadowbringers' relic. It still forced people into Bozja who, otherwise, had zero interest in the content. While also forcing people who liked Bozja out of it to grind boring FATEs and CT. Basically, all they did is piss off both sides without addressing the actual complaint from Eureka. C

ome 6.0, just let people have an entirely separate step ala the Zodiac/Anima and make the new Bozja primary option. That way, everybody wins.

I thought it was always possible in Bozja without doing FATEs and CT. People just did FATEs and CT because they like doing old content instead.

Glamour is the only long-term reason. Look up videos of what completed weapons look like, and make your calls from there.

Everything in this game is temporary, otherwise we'd be playing those "desert" games where you can go hours without interacting with anyone such as blade and soul, bdo, and wakfu.

For the i485 step, you could technically farm for the Memories (Untouched, Sorrowful and Hallowing) through Skirmishes and CEs, but the drop rates were low. Whereas they were guaranteed to drop from Heavensward FATEs. This made the latter far, far more efficient, especially with Blue Mage.

With the current step, you can only acquire Haunting and Vexatious memories from HW alliance raids/Gyr Abania FATEs and SB alliance raids/Far East FATEs, respectively. There's no way to progress this step inside Bozja, though you are only required to do it once.

That does seem strange and would have made more sense to also get them from the new content such as DR.

If previous expansions were any indication, then when Endwalker releases, relics will almost instantly be outranked. Given that we are at the end of Shadowbringers, there won't be much more gear elevation.

If you want it for glamour, go for it. They aren't by any means difficult to get, just super grindy.

Relic weapons are usually good for 5-6 levels, so I wouldn't say that they are instantly outranked. They make for a good leveling weapons.

Oh no, we've misinformed you, the relic is an extremely average weapon (even for casual), the 5.45 gives a 515. This is the level of an Ex weapon which loot much more easily. It's just useful for AFK to show off at Limsa, it shines...

A craft weapon that doesn't cost anything nowadays, it's a 510.

Stats on ALL weapons are meaningless at the end of an expansion. Glorious glowing weapons are all that matter.

Augmented tome weapons are good about as long anyway, and they'll be available for Poetics at the end of the expansion.

Well yeah, but the same applies to relics when they are finished. Whether they are worth the grind or not is mostly up to the individual.

Opinions are neat.

Relics are a type of grind / glamour achievement thing. I think a lot of them you can't even get unless the job is at a certain level, and at that point you're basically just getting a glamour item anyway so it isn't even good for leveling.

But saying this, just about everything you do after completing the main story is sort of filler. It might have ties into the lore, or it might just be some random task that you perform over time to get a glowy thing, but most of the time these side quest things never even get acknowledged by the main cast just like the Savage mode runs or Ultimate. In the end, it all is the same thing, so just pick what you want to do or what gives you the most reward.

I have to admit they've made relics pretty much useless because of how late in the patch cycle they're released compared to how early they used to release them in 2.0 and 3.0. They're only good for alt jobs.

Worth is highly subjective is the thing.

Agreed. If the plan is to keep releasing relic so late that it is useless for normal content, then it should provide some kind of bonus for bozja/DR. Similar to how some of the eureka gear had bonuses inside eureka.

PvE wise the relics are basically worth nothing at all. You go slightly stronger into the next expansion with it but thats it. For people who like glam and the look of the weapons obviously they are really worth it since the relics especially the HW anima relics are literally the best looking weapons in the entire game. Personal opinion ofc.

I mean.. glam is the end game. So yes if you like the style

Glowing sticks (lol) are cool sometimes, I love Heavensward relic weapons more than the current ones.

I got mine for WAR and I am in no mood to grind out for another anytime soon. I'm content on workng on the crafting relics and I have the diadem leg left for botanist to finish the gathering relics I care about.

This relic grind reminds me of Atma, and I HATED Atma. Not the Atma they fixed, the Atma before the fix!

I can't bring myself to run a butt load of delebrum again. I was seeing that place in my dreams, and humming the battle music everywhere.

I don't have PTSD and it's nothing funny ever, but it is real to some effect. I would just watch something on Youtube and the delebrum music would trigger me. Like hearing your alarm clock sound on somebodies phone in public.

I'm taking a break from the relic grind.
