This is the best possible gear set for Dragoon in the game right now (because I don't want people to think I use full darklight to fight, lol).

Edit: This set includes Caligae and triple melded STR gloves to max STR (348) and PIE (310).

For DRG I like DL Eyepatch, Corselet, Sollerets and STR materia gloves

Cuirass, Helm and Sollerets on the WAR though... thats just NASTY.... WAR can tear it up in that

Yeah i get that, and im not a supporter of stretchiing out content via low drop rate mechanic as its main focus.
i just get the feeling after checking out this thread that its all going according to plan, maybe even faster than intended

You don't want to get ported back as it slows the run down.

should really cap accuracy first(mob dependant) then focus on STR to cap > PIE to cap, then dump the rest in atk

Congrats to full set users. It irks me still that I put the same amount of effort, beating CC and AV (speed runs) every night for many hours ever since the patch came out, and not once have I ever seen "any" Heavy DPS armor drop. I have barely seen anything else drop for other sets either. Hate to bitch, but SE thinks Luck > Time and Effort. It really pisses me off seeing someone have two full sets of armor when people in my LS are lucky to have two pieces, for how many times we win a night, it is unfair in my opinion.

Ohh well, I guess I just forget Darklight for now and see what 1.22 has in store.

We are in the same boat.

We have done about 150-200 speed runs with another 200 non speed runs thrown in and we have yet to have a body piece of any kind drop. At this point it's all just luck. Not skill, not anything you can control but just dumb luck.

I am getting really sick of content that rewards on luck and not skill....

And I mean no offense to Amanda at all, but it is a real middle finger to us when you come in and gloat you have two full sets when most of us are lucky to have a piece to begin with. It is only a congrats on being lucky, because at this point, most people can get this gear now, but all comes down to luck.

When I see Darklight, I don't say to myself "Ohh he must be a real skilled player, he has a full set.", no I think to myself "Wow he is lucky the gear actually dropped to him.".

It's nice to see how lucky you got compared to others (like myself) who haven't seen one drop yet. But it's all luck. I would be congratulating you for beating something hard... but I can't because it's not hard to get this gear lol all luck. Why can't SE reward people for completing these dungeons? A lot of gear we get eventually becomes obselete when new patches come out.

I think my LS may have some of the worst luck with bodies. We've been doing speed runs every night, and did dungeons nonstop all weekend, and still no bodies at all. Our 12 hours of constant speed runs in Aurum yesterday got us one helm :(

How many darklight peices have you seen in this time frame? If it's not a lot, that should show SE something is wrong here...

our ls has about 50+ pieces and about 5 full sets or more

I'll say drop rate is about 5-10% overall, its abit more common than primals weapon from my experience.

1 of our members did a rouge estimate a week ago of the amount of runs we have done (which was actually very likely lower than the actual amount of runs we have done) and so far we have averaged a 2.6% drop rate for darklight.

Ifrit and moogle were far far easier to get full weapons for all members than DL.

This sounds about right, from what I can gather from the JPs. They estimate it to be around 2-3% drop rate.

I can corroborate an estimated 2.5-2.6% drop rate based on around 450 or so runs.
