But there's so many threads about people complaining about the drop rates.

If AF weapons come out and are better than primal weapons, then why the hell are the weapons so hard to get and so badly stated. If AF weapons are terrible, then you can pretty much look forward to every other weapon going to be implemented going to be crap as well. It's lose/lose.

Great. Now I'm going to have carry around Garuda's punchers and the new GC cement block punchers.

In fairness, that's mostly because Base Damage is really the only stat that works.

My guess on Garuda Blm/Thm Staff:

20+ Magic Acc
Occ wind damage on melee attack

Cause someone in the battle design loves to see casters punch stuff. If we are gonna punch stuff atleast give us haymaker animations. Gotta make it look intense atleast.

Yep here we go again, more people complaining... This week Garuda Weapons! Everyone that plays the game says they enjoy it.. Yet they pay for it, and puts down alot of the stuff that's in it...

Glad they are doing weps this way every wep in XI looked the same...Oh Sweet i bet save the queen looks awesome oh wait it looks like an Bronze sword /fail

Edit: Best looking sword in xi for a while was gluttony sword but it was lvl 57 and sucked after a while =/

Well anyways, the MRD Primal weapon is finally unimpressive...at least it's better than the CNJ weapon though.

Grats to PUG, ARC, LNC, and THM though, pretty nice.

They look good and the styles match the art style of the game.

I think rather than each weapon become a better version of old with more base damage,
there needs to be a more variety of different stat bonuses on each.
Ifrit; Attack Potency
Moogle; Main Accuracy and Crit Rate.

There is plenty of room to expand on unique abilities, unique spell effects and the like.

Wow, the archer bow is gigantic. The concept art looked like it was going to be really elegant but it turned out bulkier than I expected. It looks like they're scaled to hunter power bows. =P I really enjoy several of these.

class order is always the same in those vids (gla, pug, mar, lnc, arc, cnj, thm), guess the scepter is for cnj in this case.

Primal weapons ARE NOT SO HARD TO GET. Freakin noobs complaining on the forums after epic fail ifrit pts creates an illusion of grandeur around the difficulty of obtaining these weapons. All the complaints about difficulty in obtaining primal weaponry is founded upon "i dont like how this loot system works, it should be easier to obtain loot, make weapons passable, force one totem/nut per player per kill etc"

I averaged one weapon every 10 kills against primal. I got a few duplicates on my way to 7/7 SO WHAT NO BIG DEAL. I have a friend who got 5 different weapons in less than 10 kills. And another friend who got at LEAST 7 cudgels. Guess what? not once has he EVER complained on the forums about it. As for moogle weapons, the drop rate is even higher.

The people that complain about X or Y item being too hard, too rare, or simply not easy enough are more than likely the same people who PLed all their jobs to 50 and just expect to have these things handed to them. I understand the frustration but you need to put yourselves in SE's shoes for once and get a grip on the load they have on their plates as if they need a bunch of QQ from their player base.

Just another over exageration of the truth. Please don't make it worse Colino. If base DMG was the only stat that worked, people wouldn't be buying HQ rings or attempting triple melds for that matter. I know where you are getting at, but honestly, it's not that bad.

While most the weapons are cool I think the art direction is starting to creep to fast towards over the top. Perhaps they will fit in more after 2.0 when the setting is changed and the game is not in the weird post beta but pre real release mode its in atm. I like how the GC weapons look (besides brickfists) but they seem out of place given the setting, art style and culture of the city states shown so far. Weapons from primals and crazy boss monsters should look crazy over the top and they have done pretty well on that. Player and NPC made stuff should be consistent with the art style of their settings.

What interests me, strangely enough, is that in both videos, the GLA/PLD is wearing Bliaud and Gaskins 0_0

In terms of the GC weaponry keep in mind that they are in war time now so these Heavy Arms make sense in that context, if it wasn't wartime then I would understand why people would say the new GC weapons don't fit but until we know the whole story behind them all we can do is wait. My guess is when it comes to the GC weapons they are specialized to deal with the machine based tech of the empire so their oversized stature makes sense in that context to be able to deal the most amount of damage to said target. The brick fist seem superheated and pack quite a punch i'd imagine if those were used on metal it would melt a hole right through them.

As for Garuda weapons I have no issues with how they look, I just hope that when we see the stats they are varied rather then a DoW/M stats we've been getting so far.

As a player who mainly focused on botany and wasn't too fussy about combat, i need to start preparing...

these weapons look awesome, SLIGHTLY too shiny, but definitively cool. unlike the other crap weapons we saw yesterday that shouldn't even be implemented because of how WoWish they look...

I wish they would tell us which weapon belongs to whom... not a problem for most but the mages... I really hope the staff is WHM.. usually you can tell by which has some sort of wood or plant on it but both these models are full metal.

And using a pattern from the other videos does not work because they are swapped around in ifrit and moogle ^^;;;

I think the designs look awesome. +1 for the bow! Pretty elegant. I was surprised that only one glows, though. lol

Looks > stats (until they allow vanity gear slots) I beat Ifrit with the whole party in santa suits, people have won with all in bikinis, which includes the tank, so stats are hugely broken, that +3 str does nothing (even that +18 STR from materia I used did nothing) so elegent garuda claws over brick fists any day :p

Hmmm I'm pretty sure my Twilight Scythe looks strikingly different from my Redemption. Likewise my Almace looks very different from my Mage Blade, just like my Rhongomiant looks quite different from my Gungnir.

Gluttony sword was just a black sword with spikes.
