Is healing supposed to be this...hard?

Yeah, I get you. That's the reason I started healing back then. Faster queues. Haha And I really liked that you could choose your flavour of healing like a buffing healer and such. I think that's the reason why SCH had a fairy initially. Your pet can heal while you can DPS a bit more. In the end I'd say we did have more options for people who want to heal or DPS more. And that's why I'm not a fan of the current iteration of healers. They play way too similarly. I hope 6.0 will bring more diversity again. And the same could be said about tanks, too.

Right, and I think that's where I was struggling. I just have been trying to re-learn the healing classes and how to optimize them. I wasn't feeling like I spent a lot of time DPSing because I don't think I was used to the wall to wall pulls and how to optimize healing gcds yet. Just jumping back in was a lot harder than I thought it would be.

I said juggling.

If you have to resort to GCD spam healing the tank because they never use cooldowns or the dps because they go chasing aoes then it is unfortunately exactly that, babysitting. With the current battle design it is your job to keep them alive, not to fight against their binary health bar, so it's simply a fact that if you HAVE to spam heal people then they are simply not doing their job and forcing you to do it for them.

Ah fair, yeah, the whole wall-to-wall thing people do can be a challenge when you're still picking things up, especially as some dungeons have stuff that hits harder. Like some of the pulls in Don Mheg or Doma Castle. I can see how they might throw people off.

Then I say it is worth keeping at it, once you get more used to your toolkit and how it works for ShB you'll have an easier time of it. And possibly before long lament the DPS skills we lost on SCH :P

Both tanks and healers have a dual-purpose of dps and staying alive. This is why both have a dps toolkit. A great tank will deal decent dps and stay alive.

You're correct Clemency is great in legitimate emergencies, but previously you simply stated it's fine using it at 30%. If your healer is alive and well and you Clemency at 30%, you'll just waste their Excogs, Bene's or Essential Dignities. If you see a hardcast raise, dead healer or know for certain your healer is playing terribly and you drop low, then yes by all means Clemency.
