People step in bad. People have poor connections. There is lag. For me healing comes before anything else
This mindset of I can let them be one third health doesn’t work because this is not a static group. I don’t know these players and they don’t know me.

It’s great that your statics run like well oiled machines and you can do the minimum when it comes to healing. I have not encountered runs like that.

I will agree that some of those befits went unused and I probably didn’t need to cast one on everyone. However I have to maintain an element of fun for me and that is healing shielding buffing etc. yes I dps but I don’t want to button mash malefic. That’s not fun. Thank god for cards. But yes maybe I can put asp b on the tank me and main damage dealer and not everyone.

I don't just heal efficiently within the context of a static, though it's obviously way more efficent there, but what you're claiming is just a strawman so you have something to fight against.

No one is suggesting you leave people close to dead. I mean, I do - in my opinion if they're going to take avoidable damage that's not on me. I'm not suggesting you need to play that same way though, only that you don't objectively ignore good advice about how to heal better.

Whether you fill all the extra GCDs that you'd save by using Aspected Helios with Malefic or not isn't the concern here, it's that casting one Aspected Helios at the start of your Neutral Sect and one at the end is about as much healing as you'll need for basically any set of mechanics in casual content ever. Even with people taking avoidable damage.

No one is telling you that you need to play like a skilled raider, all that's being brought up is the huge inefficiency in everything from healing to MP to GCDs that can literally be the difference between wiping or not even on casual stuff.

Think of it this way, if you use AspHelios for point 2, you've covered everyone. If group damage happens a third time, use Helios or AspHelios again. You'll still be using less GCD's, the party is safer and in the likely case that round 2 and 3 of damage never even happens, you get 7 Malefic casts instead. There's just never a case where 4-8 GCD's of AspBenefic spam is more efficient.
Neutral AspBenefic on just the tank is fine if you think they're taking rough damage and no one else is getting hurt.

You're under the wrong assumption that we base what we say on perfect Savage statics. Personally, when I started learning AST I used Practice PF groups and Normal mode because the damage intake and deaths are so unpredictable it taught me how to make full use of my toolkit in messy situations. Some big pulls in dungeons can require more healing than Savage.

However, even in messy runs, mechanics are not random. Fights are scripted, damage comes in set intervals with set amounts of time before the next mechanic. Being able to stay calm, analyze the damage taken and heal efficiently makes you a better healer because when things do go bad, you haven't wasted several oGCD's and Neutral Sect putting single target shields on the group. You have tools ready and know exactly how to react best. Efficient healing is important at all levels of play and far better for keeping the party alive than blind healing during safe time or panic healing during mess.

Most of us agree. Spamming Malefic isn't that fun, that's why we have healer feedback on that in many threads here. However we'll still do it because being as useful to the party as possible is important to us and also fun. A high damage healer who keeps the group alive is extremely valuable.
