Yep, this continues to be a problem.
I talked to some avid housing fans.
Minimal bump in increased slots, as far as we all agree:
Apartment/FC Room: 50-75 slots more.
Small house: 100-125 slots more.
Medium house: 150-175 more.
Mansion: 225 slots more.
I can only agree.
I just made an apartment the way I want it... and ehm... I just finished.
98 slots used.
"Now to start ehm.. .decorating?"
Mansions desperately need 1,000 item slots if we want to actually use the entire space. Medium could do with 500 slots and small maybe 300.
If people have garbage PC or ancient playstation I say let them burn. I want more items in my houses ty.
I want an item limit increase as well as a storage item limit increased.
200 items for a small adds up fast & limits creativity.
A 100+ item increase to a small house would be substantial.
Every house & apartment/ Fc room needs a large item amount increase.
FC room & Apartment: 200 item limit
Small house: 300 item limit (preferable 400)
Medium: 600 item limit
Large: 1000 item limit
I'm honestly so over how bad the decorating and limitations are with housing in this game. Yet at the same time, I love decorating & will continue to do so.
I would say that, as things are now, apartments and smalls are just barely acceptable. Mediums should be 400 at least, and larges 600. This still wouldn't bring them in line with the item count/space ratio that smalls and apartments have. To do that would require boosting them to about 600 and 1200 respectively.
Yoshi P said there is a plan to add more to the housing limit in 7.X at PAX.
Well since someone found this post again, and it is sort of still valid.
My large os gonna remain the mess it currently is untill they upgrade the amount of items inside... not gonna do my 7th re-build closing off areas because there is not enough space...
I'm hoping for a housing increase mainly because if they keep releasing new housing furniture (which we know they will), we're going to need the space to put them down because it fills up very quickly. Unless, they make furniture that condenses down other items. For example:
- Make large and L-shaped lofts & partitions. [ It usually takes about 2-3 of them to accomplish those looks, so condensing it into 1 single item would help with the space limitations. ]
- Make larger windows both in height and width. Can be two separate items like "Tall window" and "Wide window". Players won't need to use as many and if they make the windows capable of sticking to partitions, it would eliminate the hassle of glitching multiple windows onto the partition of their choice.
- Perhaps making furniture that can have add-ons to it? Probably a long shot but for example, the Double Feather Bed. It could have an option to add things like an overhead canopy, extra pillows, maybe little accessories such as a plush or blanket. These add-ons would have to be crafted or bought from the housing merchant, but it would be part of that main furniture piece (the bed) and therefore not be something you'd have to use other furniture to achieve the look.
These are just my ideas as a possible solution until they confirm the housing item increase.
I am very pleased to see that at PAX East Yoshi P mentioned they will be increasing item limit in the houses in 7.x patches. So ykno ages to wait but I am already waiting since 2019 so what's another year or two really?
I think we need more space inside that's a fact, but we also need more Outside, like 10-15 should do the trick for most house.
I would say that an upgrade of +50 space inside (any house type), would be a great start even if it's not enough.
Id also loved if they'd give us 2x or 3x walls so you dont have to place 3 separate ones... And better stairs...
