Regarding the New HQ Turn-in Feature and Housing Situation

I have been camping outside this small house in the NEW wards for almost 4 hours and the game still will not let me buy it. Can like a GM personally remove the timer on this house for me? This is so incredibly dumb and its wasting my time. I just want a Small house for my FC.

The timers need to be turned back on.
Housing needs to be made instanced.
Until that change can & should be made, increase the interior item decoration limit for small & medium houses- small houses are currently at 200 limit & should be increased to 300. Medium is at 300 & should be increased to 400. It would quell some of the demand for such a large plot
Also, a house should be account wide- so players can't purchase more than 1 house per account. If anyone is actually listening to the NA playerbase, just acknowledge them for sake.
The housing system in FFXIV is the worst housing system in any existing MMO that has a housing system

At this point, we need a straight and honest answer from SE about if they will overhaul and actually fix the Housing system because the current strategy of adding X # of plots is ineffective. We don't need another apology. We need an answer that is honest and less beating around the bush. Can you pass that to SE and get back with us? Thanks!

Get rid of FC housing. All the people selling houses are using fake FCs to do this. You get rid of FC housing you solve most of the problem. such a simple fix

Doubt it would make any difference. People who want many houses would use multiple service accounts.

...why though? FCs act as a sort of apartment system as well, allowing members to have their own room to decorate if they can't get a house.

FC apartments aren't a good idea unless you're absolutely sure that you're in your "forever guild". Over the years and across several MMO's I've been burned enough times to never make that assumption. The character of a guild can change due to attrition, drama, or even a benevolent transition from one GM to another. There's nothing that guarantees that it will remain compatible with your goals and values.

If Square can do instanced apartments. They can do instanced housing. There is no technical issues. Just excuses.

Yup, and it wouldn't be too hard to let us buy a "back door exit" to go to an instanced garden from our apartment either.

Except instances don't have the necessary weather conditions for gardening, or at least intercross gardening, to work in them. You'd be limited to what you can currently do with a flowerpot inside your house/apartment.

Frankly the fix needs to be increase prices on plots, make it so FC needs to have 10 people in it to buy an FC plot. As well the FC has to have so many active members to keep their plot. Seeing so many plots where a personal home is right next to a FC house which might only have 1-2 people in it.

So just make 10 alts. It's not a fix.

Since when has weather ever had anything to do with gardening. I can't find any site that has anything about that. Further, yes you can have weather inside instances, it's actually a mechachanic of the bismark fight.

It was an explanation YoshiP gave in a Q&A 2-3 years ago. Simply watching your animations as you tend your garden will confirm it. If the weather in the ward is raining, your character bends over as if picking out weeds. If it's not raining, your character uses a watering can. If those animations weren't tied to the weather, we should see them occurring randomly.

Bismarck is not in a housing instance and the weather in that instance is special effect, not the dynamic weather we experience in the open world zones. You will always see that weather change at a specific point in the fight regardless of the time of Eorzean day. Actual game weather is tied to the Eorzean clock. It changes at midnight, 8am, and 4pm Eorzean time (though the sky effect ends up delayed by a few Eorzean minutes).

Weather is (should be) just a timed status effect of an area. If the the apartment implementation is so completely fragile that adding something that should be as easy as changing a configuration flag will break it well they can just build a new garden instance type that supports what it should have in the first place.

Regardless the new Island thing in 6.x will mitigate this oversight. Hopefully they also have a solution for ward housing gating the free company workshop, submersibles, and airships.
