The child Miqo'te I'd actually love to have as a retainer that just runs around doing quests and such within the city state their assigned to, rather than running around on dangerous quests like their adult counterparts do. Though I'd love to see the male Viera be small and cute, too.

Just because something is established to be an adult doesn't mean people can't creep on it.

SE doesn't often flat out say no, they like to skirt around it with maybe's, but this is a subject they have completely shot down. People can find that illogical or hypocritical but it's absolutely not happening, they can't very well remove Lalafell from the game anymore but they're not enabling it any further.

They do, it's very appropriately Japanese of them.
My comment wasn't about whether I felt they could or should add or remove any race from the game, it was pointing out that someone's logic was sound (even if that makes SE hypocrites).

I'd personally enjoy another short race I could pick from.

When I was younger I fell in love with any and all short races in fantasy settings. I also fancied that they were traditionally built stout and comparatively rounder.

As a woman who has a similar build, I enjoy presenting myself as such in a virtual format. Every other race - when I force myself to try them out - is basically just 'super model 1', 'petite model 2' and 'body builder model 3' to me. Not bashing the other races - as I consider all races viable and valid - but until a body slider becomes a thing, I loathe the idea of presenting myself as such.

Plus I love being short. From the Gnomes of WoW to the Asura of GW2, shortness - from my perspective - is beautiful. And more choices that allow me to pop a fantasia and remain short is desperately wanted.

Does it suck that people judge me harshly 'cause of my choice? Yeah. It stings seeing how Lalafell and their respective players are treated. But - eh - people have every right to their opinions.

I know that's not what you were saying, but the fact that people are being disgusting with Lalafell in game doesn't mean they should just open the gates and give players actual child models of an existing race like T'kebbe and Khloe.

I do sometimes wonder if they regret not going with Lilties instead, like you mentioned, as they're a bit further removed from any child connotations.

Aside from all the looking like kids complaints, I just dislike details being scrunched up or left out due to small characters not having the room to showcase gear details... (aside from helmets...)

I'd want them to be an actual beast race. Lalafell are just idk--- if they had cat-like noses, fur, tails with fur tufts at the end & rounded, mouse like ears- or other options like little antlers, and deer tails or just something that's the opposite of how a lalafell looks. Lalafells just look so incomplete to me. (as do Hyur's & elezen but that's another conversation.)

Something i noticed about the Fae is how high quality their models are with emote, texture quality and general animations.

Honestly, it wouldn't take much work to bring them up to player character standard.
Make them a bit bigger and have them hover for their walking and sprinting animation, but stand on the ground to do attacks so they can use all the same animations the other races do.
Being gender neutral, just have them use male equipment.

I'd also like to see Gria. They're described as being small, So fitting between Lalafel and minimum Au Ra wouldn't be a stretch.
They're also Ivalician so their home technically already exists. I'd also be perfectly fine with the wings they have just clipping through gear the way tails do.

He's explicitly referring to young looking characters. Miq'ittens are quite literally Miqo children and exhibit very childlike features without even considering height.
Lalafells can't be mistaken for a child when viewed without other visual cues. Gnomes in WoW are the same, they look distinctly mature in their facial and body features. The only thing "childlike" about them is their height. Real life humans attest to the fact that adults can be smaller than children, height and busts both.

As long as a small race essentially looks like a tiny adult, there's nothing stopping the addition of more small races or barriers to the existence of Lalafells.

Yes he is.
We're just not in agreement on that Lala can't be mistaken for children without other visual cues.
I think the character creator is robust enough that you can make Lala look like toddlers if you want.
I know in my brief stint on Balmung I saw people doing exactly that and then using the /playdead emote to EPR with them.
And some of the Lala running around look (to me) like they came from some child beauty pageant.

As I've been in Balmung myself - and actually occupy that respective server - I've glimpsed min-height Au'Ra females and Miqu'ote females boldly present themselves as teenagers in mature scenarios. Especially with Au'Ra females playing the role of 'young males who haven't reached full maturity yet'.

The actions of a handful of players should not condemn the majority.

The fact that many lalafell players feel outright guilt for the race looking the way it does is sad.

I personally wouldn't change a thing about them, but I've seen many who, having seen arguments that run along the lines of "this looks like a child, it is a child" made time and again, they've broken to the point where they feel bad about playing as a lalafell.

I wanna see an old baba with the body of a Miqo'itten now. xD Like, imagine you see a child standing in the middle of Ul'dah and you approach them to ask why they're by themselves and where their parents are and the kid turns around and she has the face of a haggard old woman! This would make my day if ever put into the game! x'D

Work in retail where parents often times just abandon their kids to let them roam the place. I've had this happen to me irl @@;

If the race was a super small lalasized fuzzy race (akin to the hrothgar) like say a small rabbit race or small dog like race i'd be down for that.

You're right and I never said they should?

MOOGLES all the way. Moogles that constantly float for normal "standing". And the sit emote would actually have them land and stand on ground. ONLY AFTER the implementation of male viera and female hrothgar though.
