Hairstyles

I want more short and tribal styles like the one OP posted. I use that hair on my Roe because it's the only thing that gives off that more rough / primal vibe. More of that, please!

There's this one hair for miqo'te that I really love, where it looks like she just said "SCREW IT!" and buzzed it all off, and it's starting to get to length again. (the first one, it's the first one) More ultra low maintenence hairs would be great to see.

The problem with hair in this game is the same as gear design, it almost always ends up way over-designed. I would love for them to just suck it up and do some nice, simple designs.

Normally I'd be down with more shared hairstyles, but XIV does not implement them in great ways. So many of the shared styles look like they were designed with one particular gender/race, and poorly stretched to fit everyone else. And then there's the matter of having a ton of very generic, short styles that keep getting churned out.

In my perfect world they would just stick to race-specific hairstyles only so that we get properly tailored styles vs. the bargain one-size-sorta-fits all options we get now.

In a perfect world sure, still in that world I wouldn't mind seeing some quality styles to be shared rather than hoarded. Definitely would never happen considering they still haven't released the custom viera styles, but it's a good thing to think of, what could be.

Oh yeah, I have no problems sharing styles in general. My issue is more that the shared styles tend to fit poorly or that they're fairly generic and samesie ( not all, but a lot).

If they'd take the time to slightly tailor-fit them for the races and genders, I'd be all over that.

I don't want more short boring hairs... I want more LONG hair with bangs or something. I'm sick of getting nothing but shorty and short or the shortest hairs. It never looks good from the back and ruins the entire piece. There's so many hairs that'll be awesome if the back was long instead of this boring bald fresh cut I don't wanna be a girl anymore hair we always get T.T

Honestly I'd like some moderately short lengthed hair for guys that is inbetween what's on my guy now and the lengthier ones that doesn't involve braids.

i wish they madr another hairstyle design competition, all hairstyle from the winner is 1000 times better than square original design imo

I would love a simple long style. Nothing extra to it, no braids, no headbands.. just something that can be extra feminine. Give it little side tendrils if you must. Kind of hard pairing all these shortish styles anymore. Honestly, I'm also tired of the 'but it clips!' excuse. That's for Bioware/EA.. not SQEX.

Nah, that's for SE too. Just about every hairstyle in this game clips one way or another. Hands clip. Tails clip. Clips clip. You get the idea.

Honestly, that is a dope haircut, if you were to nix the "lower hair". Like... I would genuinely consider trying to get a barber to help me get that haircut IRL.

i wish we can have all hairstyle available to all race

i mean i want that bobcut style for my aura character, but that hair style is only for the cat race. if you want to know which hairstyle is it, just go to uldah and look for that 3 catgirl dancing, the third one on the right, thats the hairstyle i mean, at least i believe it call bobcut in here.

i also want a hairstyle like bobcut but longer, basically like cleopatra.

More often than not it looks better on paper than it does rendered. The gear design as concept art looks beautiful. In game? Bleurgh.

I'm so glad the Neo-Ishgardian set came out the way it did. Hair is the same. When you see it in artwork, it's gorgeous. Or a different art style in general. But the way some hair sticks out so awkwardly or clips through anything with a collar? Ugh.

An artist will draw their fancy hair properly, in game, it will look incredibly busy and not at all like 2D. The Tarot Cafe, one of my favorite Korean manga has a lot of hair and styles I adore. But as much as I'd want something like pic related in game, it will undoubtedly look fake. The Gyr Albanian plait being a primary example depending on the race and color. It's like seeing a Lunafreya cosplay done by someone with a lot of hair pent up under a massive wig.

The Gyr Abanian plait annoys me because the hair isn't logical. You have this long extra plait emerging from the front and wrapping around the ponytail. Even if there's some kind of concealed switchover to a second plait under the ponytail, those sections of hair would have to be so much longer than the rest.
