Former Beta Players? ... even... Error?

I was around in Alpha/Beta, but I never got to participate all that much. (I didn't have a PC worthy of running the game until about a week after the game officially launched.)

Yea these forums basically launched on the anniversary of the launch of the Alpha forums last year. So yea it's been a year already playing FFXIV for me!!

>^.^< Hello~! I've been playing since the first closed Beta.. lessee name was "Elphaba Thropp" (I wanted to get the un-original name out of the way lol). Then for open Beta it was Tsai Gin (I think that was the last name XD lol)

It was difficult back then, but I was sucked in by the beautiful music, environment and the main story mission. Despite all the pain in the butt logging in, it was fun discovering all the new stuff!! :D

I still play and it's FUN! Just have to roll with whatever the dev's crank out and not focus on some crazy grind to 50. I find fun in all the different DoH & DoL jobs in between ranking up the fighters/casters, helping others & chit-chatting with the folks in my linkshell and exploring just for the thrill of being chased by some crazy monster and KOd (yay for no exp loss /cheer!!) >^^<

That's funny I felt the same about the beta, while I felt there was problem, it was fun to find all the new things and see the character you made being a lot more life-like than FFXI character. It would be nice to feel the same, only that I'd like to see that this game would have a lot more life than now.

started in closed beta and still here!

(although had to pick a different starting city than Limsa...)

Another from Closed beta, my forum account was whacked so I didn't get on much. These forums are better.

Remember the mad amount of unstable elements you would get while crafting? x.x;

I still get a lot of unstable elements, one of my recent crafting had a field day. It went from Wind to fire to thunder in one get go, and this was like few days ago!

I really havn't seen it happen often at all, it's a minority case at this point. lol

Remember when gathering SP was decent (500-700 per success)?

Remember when there was no fatigue?

I've been around since Beta, but it's been an on/off affair since the game's quality started off so poor. Yoshi P seems to be doing a good job though!

And i just remembered that big server problems from early closed beta (I believe it was closed beta) when some test windows ware shut down because ppl ware experiencing login issues (well mainly because the alpha was real tester work, but with closed beta, lots of people came to play only - not do real tester work and post feedback and suggestions) and started to ROAR! about it on forums, lol xD some threads that appeared then, there ware lots of fun :D

I'm from Open Beta so I didn't get to post but I did read the forums. I bought the game during CE release, and I think that's mainly why I'm not 50 yet (39, the 40s chug a lug, people who are 50 know what I mean) There's no content that requires me higher than 40 really since THM is a cure bot

I'm from the beta, and was banned from posting in the original forums; I could only read them.

Something about only the first waves of invites were being allowed to post.

"Here, test this game, gather all your feedback, and burn it." was the official position until today.

Started late Alpha here. <3

Beta 1 and i enjoy the game but there noting for us players to do for now. I wish i can play tho and see the new update. But i have no internet at my house and my friend pc not strong enough to play damit ; ;. i know the update is not that great but i like to see the storyline from the quest.

Beta phase 2 here. It's nice to see how far the game has come. :)

i've been around since the Closed Beta in August, the sp gain back then was similar to how it is now. And we could only access The Limsa-Lominsa area. And the hooded cowls were the best armor in the game because there was a glitch that let you equip headgear with it :3

I was around for both Alpha and Beta. I'm enjoying this ride called FFXIV.

Beta~ Wanted Alpha but didn't pursue it!

Hmm I recognize some names here XD

EU Alpha! Just wished the developers had listened to our suggestions back then (and in the betas) as a lot of the gameplay issues are still relevant now.

At least the game's stable though.
