There's really no need for the little dig at people who like endgame.

The game currently caters to both types quite well on DoW/M content. Savage, EX and Ultimate exist along with plenty of casual story driven content. No one needs to "go away" and take breaks for not enjoying some of those. This thread itself is quite interesting as it highlights the wide range of differing preferences between players, with some being quite opposite. We could all learn to keep that in mind.

This thread reminded me I need to try the new maps.

I sleep in my apt and debate which job I'mma level. Just got Gun breaker to 80.. now to level dancer. And sleep in my apt more. I just got one.

Stop playing the game. The non-raiding content is really boring.

Work on other things I guess, mostly achievements and farming things, either mounts, minions or orchestrion rolls. I have a to do list and make steady progress towards finishing it every few days I log in to play.

I give up on savage stuff in 4.4 and my quality of life in FFXIV raises a lot, it was a unhealthy routine having to do weekly savage because player base, but I miss a little the mechanics and how they are "orchestrated". However I rarely go to extreme stuff with my friends, no stress and only clears and laugh.

Most of the time I like to spend my time taking care of my cross-linkshell community, receiving new players and telling them how to play the game, answering their questions and helping them with instaqueues. I also like playing with submarines stuff in my fc, making new types and testing if it will worth the voyage.

About the savage content, I start question why it worth? I had the BiS in 4.2 and start wondering what I was going to do next. So, the price of having this i370 worth the time I spend stressing myself? I still can clear content I usually do with crafted or tomestone stuff, then what is the deal? There is a difference in the damage, of course, but can I still clear the contents? Yes. All the questions about it start making me think the price was too high for a little reward. The time I no longer use with savage now I just play with friends and it is amazing.

Have not done any Savage or Ex Trials since 2015.

They're just not worth the time and effort.

SE should instead focus on content everyone can easily access with minimal queue time. Example would be: Eureka. Even Frontline roullete was better worth of Dev time even thou it's just 1 map xD than all the 5.0 Savages/Ex Trials.

Quit and only resub for the major patches's MSQs because Shadowbringers has been a bigger pile o' nothing than Stormblood was and is not worth my time when you can catch up instantly with crafted gear and can finish all the patch has to offer in 7 days.

Raiding and EX trials are not my thing because they boil down to boring "boss in circular arena with heavily scripted mechanics you fight ad nauseum until you finally get the drop you want" and they also prey upon the 'nostalgia factor' to compel players to do them, hardly an entertaining aspect and sounds exactly like a classic way to keep players subscribed to your game because it has barely anything else to offer.

Having taken a break from Savage due to static drama, I basically log in to cap each week and log out. Admittedly, that is partly due to burn out on but there really isn't much to log in for at the moment. Did some glamour farming with friends which was fun. Otherwise... eh. I still feel the one major flaw FFXIV has always had is longevity.

There are not worth the time and effort ? Yes they are , you just don't want too. And No Se should not only focus on casual content ... what are you on about. Everyone can do extreme content if they put the time in it you just lazy.

I'd probably just stop playing for non expansion patches. They have the login campaigns so frequently that I could just use those to play the like 3 hours of story they add every patch tbh. Capping weekly tomes would end up even more optional as the story content they add have such low ilvl requirements the gear stops mattering as much where now it helps you clear the harder stuff for the first time and then after that you can clear it faster with the gear upgrades.

Dailies, on content Normal & Alliance Raids, level another job, RP, crafting content. Other smaller bits of content (like BLU when it was relevant)

Only content I'll do on any of my healers is level 80 stuff and only on AST, because I get bored with everything else...heck I still get bored as an AST, but that's a whole separate issue. But me bringing it up is me hinting that non-Savage/Extreme/Ultimate content definitely needs to be way more interesting for healer mains.

Not lazy, i just don't see the point of doing it. Even if the glam looks nice it's still not worth it. If it was like FFXI where gear was useful 5 years from now sure. But when you get new ilvl gear every few months, it's kinda pointless lol. The Ilvl Sync also gives you another reason why spending hours to get ilvl500 Savage gear pointless.

I concur. Although I do this content (but not a lot), but there's all kinds of people who play the game and people get different things out of it. Ex/Savage/Ultimate is not the goal for everyone and the game offers things for these people. Heck, there's people who aren't as skilled or don't have the focus or hand-eye co-ordination. And nothing wrong with these people playing and most of the time they know their limits and aren't going to queue in that progression Ex fight run and make the experience painful for everybody, themselves included. Instead they'll do the stuff they subbed the game to do.


But "lazy" is not always the reason, you are right. If anything, it usually isn't.

Crafting; Gathering; Leveling Alt jobs; Farming mounts/minions/glamours; Doing daily roulettes; guild chat or other guild activities; story content as it's released; Relic/Artifact gear; etc.

I'm sure people take breaks between major content releases to.

The usual complaining that there is "nothing to do in the game" thread of yours? We needed this one to add to the list.

I usually.. just make glams, and do dailies on routine. Try to farm mounts of all kinds inbetween, level alt classes (still not all at 80). Game is fairly casual.

i have a hobby of going to housing wards and walking into random players houses so probably that

... not even notice, probably.

Usually social stuff with FC, we do old content to clear it for mounts and stuff.

We did alex 4s, 12s, Omega 4s and Omega 8s this weekend, also some Byakko.
If we are not doing combat related stuff, we host Events such as Glamour shows and Map parties.

If its just myself, im happy with a Podcast and something grindy ... maybe a relic weapon, Ishgard gathering, or Eureka.
Roulettes and Beastmen tribes keep you busy.

There is still plenty to do its just not "new" stuff sadly.
Beside that i do my Ex trials and try for mounts.

On why im not doing Savage, i kept pugging the first 2 Turns of the Savage tiers, but i had multiple really really bad parties on chaos ... we throw that word around a lot but it did feel "toxic" so now im happy not doing that anymore.

As a serious answer, if you are running out of stuff to do, you could put the game down and do something else til the next patch. Having endless meaningful content is impossible.

Personally this is what I've done in the past. I usually lose it about midway through the patch cycles and then come back and go hard when an expansion hits. I'm trying to stick with this the whole way through this time.

There are definitely plenty of things that I could be working on without a doubt, but none of them have quite hooked me at the moment.

Raids are about the journey, not so much the destination.

Do you really think people do Savage and Ultimate for ilvl?

Probably cap weeklies and grind mounts/minions. As it is, Savage and Ultimate are pretty much the only reason I play after the hype of the patch/expansion is over.

You're asking someone who's never experienced the content their opinion on what someone can get out of it. Kinda silly imo.

Gathering, crafting, daily roulettes, leveling sub jobs (though almost finished this), role playing, taking screenshots, doing hunts, fates, exploring areas, housing, triple triad, mahjong, chocobo races, gold saucer in general, mounts, minions, achievments... there's plenty to do outside of HE content tbh.

The number probably would be the same, but the longevity of the content would be much shorter. Savage in its current design lives pretty much the entire two patches before next tier is released thanks to how coffers and books system works. If it was giving only glamours, it would be forgotten faster, as getting 1-2 items isn't same as collecting sets for few weeks, sometimes for few jobs.

I don't run anything beyond normal content. So, I do the daily / weekly hunts for nuts, sometimes collect materials to sell (I only craft for myself), and run 1-2 dungeons for tomestones if I feel sufficiently awake.
I still haven't attempted Eden's Verse: Furor yet.

I'd get into housing if I could build a full plot farm without house.

I go have tea parties with Uematsu.

And then me and Yoshi P like to get together and hatch new ideas for the future of the FFXIV story, through a rousing game of Dungeons and Dragons, Final Fantasy Edition. He told me not to mention that I came up with the perfect plot twist for the WaL/D, that we eventually turn into a Sin Eater and we have to fight our own allies, all at once. It's like a bad ending scenario, but with a good outcome. He absolutely FORBADE me to talk about that. Other than that, I like to just run Duty Roulette and level my other jobs, maybe run a few duties for fun, or gather tomestones, or roleplay, or chat with my LS mates, or go to the Diadem and gather up a storm, and sell it all for lots and lots of gil, then earn scrips and get those new emotes I've always wanted. Maybe later, I'll log out and go to work... then come back and do it all again.
