It doesn't matter what my reasons are.... I play the way I want and I have fun doing it. If it means spending 8 hour grinding parties like there were in FFXI, then I would quit the game. As much as I love FF, I won't sacrifice my family or career to play a game 8 hours a day just to feel i've "accomplished" something.

I glad Yoshi-P gets it. My subscription is equal to your subscription, whether I play one minute a day or 9 hours a day. The best part of this game is having multiple classes per character to mix and match during an encounter. If it means I can do that without spending 7 months of my life leveling a single class, than great.

I really don't get what your point is but I've indulged your self-righteous attitude more than I should have and I need to get back to work...

This thread is about TIME, not EFFORT.

The OP does not want to spend alot of their TIME on leveling, nor figuring out where to level at probably because they do not find spending alot of their TIME on figuring out where to level nor leveling to be any FUN.

I would most likely say they are wanting to spend their most of their TIME playing as a high level class with their already high level friends.

1-20 Goats near Horizon
20-28 Mites near Nophica
28-37 Ants in the 2nd map of Copperbell or Higher Mites by Nophica
37-42 Raptors
42+ Natalan or Zaharak

For the self righteous people get the hell over yourselves if this is how some people like to play that is their option they are paying and it's not illegal so deal with it. If you don't like that then don't invite them to your party simple. PL works fine but if you can get a good group to go and grind in these areas it is actually faster especially higher levels and in Natalan. Considering even after merge our server is still quiet and forming parties is still a massive chore I don't blame some people with the level gap this game has.

I don't care how you spend your time in Eorzea. I dont' care if you want to solo to 50, or form a group for 8 hours, or do leves, or log on and fish all day.

Why do you care what or how I do things? I asked a simple question... i got self-righteous opinions. I play FFXIV to get away from the "work" I did in RL. I derive no self worth as a person from FFXIV "work", though I do derive entertainment.

Also you're just flat out wrong. We now have 3 end-level dungeons, 2 end-level primals, jobs, AF, and GC quests. The bulk of the game happens after level 40.

Hello, everyone. Let's please keep these boards and threads clean and friendly as possible.

For leveling purposes, PLing areas at that level range seems to be in the common areas where people level together. I'm sure with the recent server merges there a lot more players on everyones servers that quite possibly might be in the same Rank range, if not I prefer to raise other classes or do some leves or quests to gain some other experiences within the game. Again this is only a suggestion but I hope this can be applied to other players as well.

40-50 is plenty of time to figure out your job. Even then, a few ls runs will get you up to speed in a hurry. Contrary to popular belief 1-40 doesn't teach you shit about your job. You dont even get the full combos youll be using regularly til like 35+. Plus soloing to 40 does not teach you how to work in a party anyway. All in all the arguments against the whole PL thing are pretty weak...FFXIV is not one of those games that requires a lot in terms of "learning a class". You have to learn how to operate in dungeons and parties, but you don't learn that until you actually do dungeons or primals. No amount of grinding will prepare you for Ifrit/Moogle/AV/CC.

As for PL locations use mooglebox.

I'm not even saying it has to be god awfully grueling, or excruciatingly long, but when you herp-derp your backside in here asking a question like that what did you THINK was going to happen? Some of us veiw it as a blatent insult that we DID put in all that time, just to see in an ifrit or moogle pt "hey i got all 50's i only been playing a week, how do i tank/heal/dps this? lol". I and many like me think the damned leveling on this game is broken as hell recently and while i haven't lashed out, i don't endorse such.

I could have had my butcher's crown ages ago, if we really brass tack it, but i take my time, not because i'm not playing, but because i'd rather go into a party at least halfway knowing what i'm doing before i piss off a group of people on my server with i'd like to play again with, or not waste all that precious ifrit DM (because that's ALL that S.O.B gives out lately) or dozens of repairs, because i blew through everything to get there, then i got there and didn't have a clue.

You can learn combo sequences, fix bars accordingly, alot of minor tweaking really, that can only come from working in pt, or frankly some solo, that you don't get to learn while you sit afk and make a friend do your heavy lifting for you, but i'll simply tip my hat to you sir, bid you a good day, and leave it at that.

Haha only joking, I totally agree with you, this is pure lazy, if you really want to PL go and find the camps yourself, its really not that hard...

1-40 does teach you something about your job. You'd be surprised at the people I've run into who do not know how to rotate/stack their abilities properly.

I've also met people who don't have a clue how to play in a team setting which makes doing AV and CC runs a pain in the ass, likewise for Ifrit and Moogle.

Power-leveling is a epidemic and is so wide-spread due to the belief that you have to be 50 to get ANYTHING done in this game. (Which is partly true.) I'm sure when 2.0 is released and the player numbers jump SE will put a stop to the gross PL abuse. Until then take the high road people, learn your job inside and out and do that while you level.

skele's + gnats west side of muntuy, 2 ppl pl'ing(1 person does gnats one does skele) gets you about 1-25 in 90min or less, camp there till 30.
after same gig but hippo's and ixal's south west of glory at the ixal encampment.
boom lv 40 in 3-4 hours.
after have a gla and thm train ixals in natalan, 5-8 hours later hello lv 50.
repeat other class.

Either make sure that the person PLing you will also teach you how to play the job or..... don't get PL'd at all.
There are already enough of those with a Paragorn's crown that don't know what Blindside, Featherfoot, Foresight, Parsimony, Dark seal and other very usefull abs do.
