This wouldn't be as annoying if it didn't boot you back to the password screen everytime. As a security token user it's really annoying having to put in a password every single time for the past 6 hours to no avail. Wish someone from tech support could at least chime in on this
I am having this same issue I got into Exodus after a bunch of tries but getting the lobby server error so many times trying to get into Faerie I gave up. I wonder why SE is not reporting this at all? This issue has been reported on Reddit too.
I'm thinking that "resolved" status might need to be revisited. :(

Having same issue on PS4. Let me log in once then I logged out and back in, but I can't even get to the character screen. Been trying for about half an hour so far.
Same issue. I'm on Crystal too and I get the same error code on both PC and PS4.
It's definitely on their end, but many of my friends are having no issues outside of mentioning some lag in game tonight.
Same here. Can log into European Data Center. Can't log into North American Data Center.
Just a guess. Popular event + more people staying home = server congestion
I was logged in and got booted out. Now I can't log back in.... so annoyed right now

Game is on sale for 40% off on Steam, so maybe this has added to the problem.
I'm having the same issue. 5006, or 6001 when attempting to access Crystal/Goblin. Just got back in finally. Suspect high congestion.
I've been having lobby connection errors 9002/6001 last night and yesterday as well. I'm playing on Crystal server. Sometimes, I managed to log in, but my character would get stuck there and couldn't move, so I have to close the client. Took a couple of tries to finally log in and play the game. Didn't have this issue before yesterday. I'm guessing it might be because of the launcher update on Mar 30.
Same. I've been trying to login for over 6 hours and still can't get into the Primal Data Center. I can't even log onto mog station for that matter.

oh so it not on Square enix side to they just said it maybe issue the the internet network paths

So I did a trace route on the NA Datacenter IP Address, which I believe is 184.107.107.176 and it appears there is a connection loss after hitting the IP Address 70.38.72.102 which is somewhere in Canada. I tried a trace route directly to the server address and it came out just fine so there is a bad connection on the Canadian lobby server I suppose.
Hey guys, had the same problem, finally managed to log back into the game after 3 hours of trying. When I did get back into the game, a server-wide annoucement was made:
[3:26]We have confirmed that an error is currently occurring when accessing the lobby server on the North American Data Center.
[3:26]Our investigations did not find any issues with our infrastructure or servers, so it is possible there is an issue occurring along some internet network paths.
[3:26]To try to mitigate the situation, we will try adjusting internet connection pathways at the time below. During this period, you will not be able to log in to the North American data center.
[3:26]*Players already logged into the game will not be affected.
