It's not some lore thing. Every Ascian uses a player model and animation rig—usually they're Midlanders, though Loghrif is a Highlander. Even Emet-Selch is on a technical level just an Elezen with a unique head, like quite a lot of Garleans (and Merlwyb).

Gaia, by contrast, is more in line with things like Kobolds, Sahagin, and so on. Her clothes and hair are part of her body, and she has very limited options for animation. If you were to somehow try and force her to play out 99% of animations the player models are capable of, she'd just T-Pose instead.

you do realise while it is a lovely hairstyle that it's no weighted well and sticks out when she moves her head as it would for us as well.

For me, I would like to have a face like hers. It just has so much character to it and, for me, it has a nice balance of being stylized and real-ish textures.
Maybe they could get Tetsuya Nomura to design some faces/facial features for players to use in the character creator.

Merlwyb is definitely using a Roegadyn model now, but I assume she would have been a modified Elezen in 1.0 when the female Roegadyn model didn't exist yet.

Personal taste of course, but I think her face proportions look really off. It's like they tried to replicate the concept art exactly instead of treating it as an art style difference and basing her more on normal Hyuran proportions even if they want to make her face unique.

Much as I'd like them to include her hairstyle, I know it'd likely be gender-locked.

I love her outfit just one issue. PINK DONT GO WITH IT..neither does pink hair. And for me my character got to have pink somewhere. Dont anyone say it..yes that last part can be take wrongly but lets not.

I thought it might be a mogstation outfit at first that came with the hair but seeing the last tier raid gear anf seeing her animations ... nahh, they don't plan on making that a player hair.

I feel that way with most of the faces they've added through out the expansions.
The original 1.0 faces versus ARR's, HW's, and ShB's look jarringly different to me at times (I know they're different races but still).
Using female Midlanders as an example: the original 4 face from 1.0 look really different to face 5, which was added in ARR.

Just popping in, again, to say I'd still like to have this :D

I like how the male version looks though. Particularly the healer colour scheme since the white part on the sleeveless female dress looks a bit odd by itself but on the male version it's clearly part of a shirt under a vest.

It's funny cause I was sure I expected this but was still disappointed.

To be honest, whenever a female character is shown wearing X or Y outfit, I always wonder about how it'll be altered for male characters in a way I, at least, find to be a downgrade.

Booty shorts, or indeed, skirts and the like, are often turned to just... Boring jeans for males. This isn't inherently bad, but it's hilarious with how often it occurs.

I'm sure we'll get the outfit at some point on Mog but the hairstyle is questionable. Seems they for whatever reason seem to exclude them from releases. It would be nice though.

It's a problem that runs both ways though. I hate it when the male characters get nice outfits but then the pants just evaporate on the female version. Things like the embroidered Lv70 BRD pants (where the female version turns into shorts so short you can't even see them under the coat) and the 3/4 shorts under the Lv50 SMN skirt.

Doubly so when the male version looks feminine still, like the Lv60 WHM skirt with the ribboned bloomers under it. My male WHM characters won't wear it, and female characters can't.

Any long hairstyle, like gaia's or rynes would be nice

just came back to the game and i must admit i would love this set as an outfit we can buy. id love it in individual parts like jacket,skirt,boots,gloves.

As soon as Gaia appeared I wanted her hair and then her outfit was amazing looking as well. (specially dem boots)
So yeah, you got my support on wanting both the outfit and hairstyle.

We really do need more long hairstyles in this game. >.<

That's WAY too much texture clipping, players would hate it, and rightfully so.

Until we can live in a future where a big mmorpg like Final Fantasy XIV can have their Prim/sculpted-prim models replaced with Mesh models and not actually crash due to computing loads, then we have to live in this world where texture models clip. D:

Yeah, I wear the E12S Edenmorn healer and caster top, it looks so much better dyed instead of the black.

If anything, I'd want Gaia's platforms she's wearing over our boots.

You should make a thread about the lack of male glams, rather than posting in a thread that is just asking for a hairstyle & outfit.

I’m not seeing a high enough demand for Gaia’s astounding shoes. The groundbreaking heels are obviously the most amazing part of her outfit that we all should have access to.

But how much of your shins are you willing to give up for them?

If you look up character data, Gaia isn't using a standard NPC model – I suspect it's so she can have those high heels and still have normally proportioned legs. (Though it might also be because of her draping coat.)

I play a female, but I was forced into it by the lack of good male glams, so I 100% agree.
