We're getting umbrellas. What else do you want your character to grasp in their hand?

Weapons and tools in a casual carrying pose.

Small minions. Just pick up, say, the coeurl kitten and carry it around petting it like a Bond villain.

Maybe casters could create a ball of energy in their hand like a lantern.

A cigarette or smoking pipe... still waiting for a /smoking emote ;.;

I would like to see a traditional smoking pipe to be one, but since there are kids in this game I'm not sure if SE would do it. They did add that new toast emote, but doesn't mean it's alcohol? I don't know anymore, it's okay to have half naked characters all about the ass but no smoking?

How backwards would it have to be that partial nudity and sexual themes are okay for kids to see, but not cigarettes? We see people smoking everyday on the sidewalk.

Come on SE, we have storylines about genocide in this game, smoking shouldn't be too hard, you already have the villain smoking a pipe.

Personally, I'd rather kids be more comfortable with sexual themes than cigarettes.

FFXIV isn't a comfort contest. We also have themes of genocide. Smoking is ubiquitous, there's no getting around that.

Kids aren't likely to deal with genocide in real life unless they live in certain parts of the world. The ubiquity of smoking is the reason why it would be considered more of a problem.

I think it'd be hilarious if I could glamour monk weapons to be a pair of chopsticks and a rice bowl, or a tea cup and plate.

Lots of good ideas above. A couple I liked were

- A lantern or torch
- The ability to hold hands with your partner (or lean into them when sitting on a bench)
- As a scholar I too sometimes imagine Eos sitting on my Lala head when idling out of battle.

No ideas of my own I'm afraid.
