Secret Egg Combos~! (Hatching-Tide Event)

Common items given just got rotated. Sheperd's Pies instead of Ginger Cookies, Rabbit Pies instead of Apple Tarts and Marmot Steask instead of Bubble Chocolates.

And I just realized that for the Secret combinations for Potions, it doesn't matter what type of Fancy egg you use.

Current potion is currently:
Day 2: 3 Hi-Potions of Vitality
- 1x Fancy
- 3x Red
- 2x Green

Lol, it did not occur to me to use 1x Fancy and 5x of a same color. Got 4x Hi-Potions. Was it the same during the first day of the event?

I think for the midnight cap anyway, is the dark egg and then 1 of each color. I was going for an odd egg and got the cap instead.

You have to have the egg cap already in order to get the odd egg. Basically the NPC will go "Oh you already have that item? Take this"

Best thing to do is to use any Fancy Egg, then 2x Color 1, 1x Color 2, 1x Color 3, and 1x Color 4. Choose whatever colors you want, and that'll give you a special dialog moment with the NPC.

Got all my Odd Eggs with 1x Fancy, 1x of each color. Seems like the scheme for them is to have at least a combination of four different colored eggs.

I also tried figuring out the Chocobo Egg helm secret as well. Everyone thinks it's associated with the fireworks and it may very well be since when I trade corresponding colored eggs with a fancy egg I get that cheer sound, but so far I haven't had any luck even doing it in all three cities. I'm gonna try with 3 cities with Motley eggs if possible and see if that works.

nice but short event as usual, teleport in horizon > farm > nophica > farm > copper bells > farm > return to uldah and trade all the eggs... btw i got fun for at least 1 hour :P

I believe the eggs are just rare, so eventually they will be for sale. If you see me in game I'll help you out ^^

Wondering this too. Odd that they'd just leave one out.

Some of them are! I got one last night for my mule.

I checked http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Hatching-tide_(2012) but I don't see a Chocobo cap.

I was able to get the motley egg from Ziggy first, then Iggy, but Twiggy will not give me a motley egg! What must I do? I am a lowbie so I can not fight for the multi colored eggs.

The secret egg combination is now the same as when the event started.

The egg baskets are filling at different levels in the towns now. On sargatanas there is a glowing egg on top also in all 3 cities but the gridanian basket is only a little full and the uldahn basket is brimming!

I am NA so I am online right now. This week, I am usually on an hour before now till 2 hours from now. 12-4 CST. Thank you and Nabiri for your kindness!

I did the secret egg combination in each city and got a lot of potions, but no chocobo cap. My next idea was to try with a motley egg with each secret combo. Has anyone done every combination possible? There's no ultimate reward? Or anyone have all achievements?

I do have all of the caps and rings so far except for the chocobo ring, which I'll get when I get home from work. I didn't know you had to talk to the 2nd NPC >.<

Has anyone tried trading all the unique archon eggs to Ziggy (outside town?) I think that was the way you got the chocobo egg cap last year but he was next to the dreamer in last year's event.

Anyone figured it out for chocobo egg cap?

Ok, so the event is over. We had eggs shaking in caged like holders. Did anything happen before it was over? (doubtful but never know!) You would think they would have put something up on the Lodestone already to finish out this event?

There's maintenance tomorrow so there may yet be a follow up event.
