Ironically, people coming to say "It's not a bait" are being baited the most as soon as they hit the "Submit Reply" button. I think hamsters and rats could have better results in laboratory tests (electric shock experiments) than some users here..

Eh, I mean, the purpose of bait in the first place is to lure somebody in to achieve a specific result. If the OP intended to have the whole forum repeatedly tell him that he's bad at trolling, then I guess he got what he wanted.

Oh I've got all of them at hand just in case. Recent forum history seems to warrant to do so.

Used this one, since while the quality of bait has gone down, the number of same quality threads created seemed to go up? Didn't count them, but it certainly felt that way.

I tried to watch it... couldn't even make it to 10 episodes. Doesn't help that I have read the bansenshukai and the fantasy ninja is upsetting.

I don't see it used any differently from the way people toss the phrase Karen around. A difference however I noticed is that real weebs actually treat it more like a compliment than an insult. Same for Otaku. Infact businesses have even started adopting those phrases into their advertisements. Maybe it's origins were intended to be a slur but it's definitely one that has backfired over the years.

its kinda funny. the word nerd was once pretty much in the same spot. people looked down on nerds... now its whatever a nerd isnt a bad thing.
with more and more manga, anime, etc swapping over the word weeb came too. i think i've seen it especially on asmongolds channel how hard nerds looked down on weebs even though its pretty much the same just western and eastern.
and now weeb becomes more and more normal. no need to see it as a bad thing.

And in a weird twist of fate, "weeb" has spread so wide beyond a point of being a fad that a vast majority of people actually prefer it as a lifestyle choice entirely; and nowadays they do in-fact view Japanese as "peak civilization" on a widespread scale. You can see traces of this everytime people mention how bad the English dub of something is. I took French in Highschool, but all my friends took Japanese. Between them and I, I feel like I took the wrong language course cause I always meet people interested in Japanese, but I lack people to practice French with.

It makes me think of something my parents have said about Dungeons & Dragons. Growing up, they said D&D was generally frowned upon and made you uncool. It's the opposite today and you are kind of missing out if you don't play a little D&D here and there.
