Individual players shouldn't be allowed to purchase or relocate to Large plots.

Did you ever notice how many players leave their houses "locked" so visitors can't enter? Not everyone care whether or not others see their house. They just want a place to decorate for their own enjoyment.

Most players with houses never get to experience that "neighborhood feeling" unless they're close to a couple of active FC houses that have members going in and out on a regular basis. It takes having house owners (or FC members) online and walking in the ward at the same time you are for it to feel populated. That's not going to happen often when there's plenty of other content to be doing with our time, not to mention if we are at our house we're more likely to be inside the instanced interior than sitting around in the yard.

Few people are asking for wards to be removed and replaced with instanced housing. They are asking for instanced housing to be added so players who want a house can at least get one.

And no, not everyone wants a large or will buy one. Not everyone wants the same thing you do. I could have bought a large when the new wards opened last week but didn't because I don't want a large. I have friends who could have upgraded their smalls to a medium and didn't because they like their smalls.

Even if everyone did want a large, so what? Why does that bother you?

Its why I stick to my idea of what they should do with wards.

Keep one copy of each in the world, and use the physical house entrances as the entrance to instanced areas, with a small re-design of the wards for additional vendor space. If you like the placement of a specific house in one ward, you could go to the placard there and buy an instanced version of it. Then loading in will put you in the yard of that specific instance. You could see randomly generated yards from other houses in that ward (and I assume you could set it to display specific ones you like looking at if they ever did that).

Then go inside and have your own space.

And in the ward itself, add more vendors, rowena turn-ins, and GC merchants, plus other things you might go to a major city for. Use the residential districts as a player driven city experience, and the major cities for world traveling / off-world shoutspam / new players.

this is good idea. one thing why limsa is so overcrowded is because the MB is very close to aetherite plaza. if housing ward has more NPC like this, maybe it would make it livelier and make limsa a little bit spacier.

I've always said that wards would be better if everyone could teleport directly from their house, and there was one central area of the Ward with the vendors, a couple of market boards, the NPC the visit other wards, etc. There are numerous market boards for 30 people. Why?

This idea could be on a per Ward basis, or all of the Mist wards, for example, have one general area.
