Ongoing concern with content selling in party finder

They could, but all evidence suggests that they never actually investigate reports for illicit activity first-hand.

Chances are these players also demand the payment upfront before they'll party up and expose who their main accounts are, anyways, though their alts still have to be paid accounts to advertise in PF so just getting those banned would still be an annoyance to them.

They could just appoint veteran players to be in game police to watch for stuff like this if there under staffed.

I think the solution is simple, there's room on the UI to put a report button the Party Finder details, so adding one wouldn't require too much design rework, though it would require coding and could overburden their team working to act against RMT. I think though that if SE comes out and says cut and dry that they'll start actively banning accounts for this, then it should reduce their numbers pretty quick. Adding a report button would also contribute to that end since filling out a report on the Support Desk can be cumbersome and time consuming.

Nice, good for those people. They found a way to make money. This is nothing new, look at the free to play games and how much they charge. It’s mostly people who are loaded with money and have no problem opening up their change purse.

The difference is those F2P transactions are actually going to the company running the game.

This does nothing to benefit SE and it's kinda normal for companies to not approve of others profiting off of their product, which is why they attempt to crack down on RMT.

SE can’t do anything about since the transaction is done offline. SE doesn’t benefit from either way if it’s done for free, $5 or for hugs. All this is, is free advertising for the people who are controlling that market. Wouldn’t surprise me if OP was in on it. Making it known on the forums just brought in a little bit more customers.

I do kind of wonder how many people actually buy clears with how ridiculously overpriced they tend to be, because I've regularly seen prices a few hundred shy of 1K being quoted for this nonsense.

Anyone who seriously values bragging rights that much likely has some serious self-esteem issues and/or or too much expendable income.

I don't agree with buying clears at all. But just the thought of people actually paying THIS type of money for clears really makes me want to throw up.

i mean they can't even stop all cheaters and what not in other games like overwatch, etc. how's an indie company like Square Enix supposed to stop all selling of content either?

Honestly. Who cares if some people spent hours and hours perfecting their skills and getting comfortable clearing content to the point they can sell clears and titles to willing people. Good on them. Not condoning the ego padding of those buying but yeah. It's also really obvious who bought what the second they enter any similar content, I've seen it.

I would much rather focus on getting rid of bots as they can genuinely be disruptive.

With the ability to properly blacklist ads in the PF with 5.1, SE has given you an answer: RMT for content sales is fine as long as specifics are kept outside of the game.

Introducing: The Reason why no Achievement or Title gets taken seriously in this Game.
The first thing going on in my head when i see someone with ultimate titles is: "Wonder how much he paid for that."

They should just come down hard to all ad's in PF.
From RMT clears to static recruitment.

I will never get why people are actually spending money on this. 1) You pay a lot of money just to get a stage cleared in a videogame without feeling like you actually accomplished anything, 2) you get a title and a glamour weapon you can wear but very time you look at it you also damn well know that you didn't earned it and 3) you can't even feel special about it because with so many dudes already have cleared it noone really cares anymore.

To be fair, some of the ultimate weapons are super nice glamours, regardless of the fact they're tied to ultimate (especially most of the Ultima weapon ones, considering the base models are THE original relic weapons and have a ton of symbolism.). If they're in it for the glamour, they probably don't care or have any sort of guilt about buying it & not earning it, they just want the shiny cool as heck weapon, regardless of how others perceive them. And much like in other facets of life, if they're willing to put money down on it, chances are they're at a point where they value their time more than the cost of what these people are charging for it. Why do you think mobile games usually have a few people spending $1000's of dollars on microtransactions that save them time? Same thought process.

People simply value their money differently.

So right now there’s two Expert Roullete mislisted for clear selling PFs that have the same exact Discord listed, this should clearly count as spam, right?

It happens because people insist on buy it. It is like any other thing. Sellers will no exist if no one buy clears. And people who buy clears exist because this community gives too much credit to people who clear specific things. "Oh, look at that, I'm sure is a top player, his opinion probably is better than mine". I run to a lot of players who think they know more than others for having X thing cleared. And people want to be in that group. So they buy clears to have that title and have an opinion. Same for FFlogs sells (that happen too). You cannot have any opinion if you're not orange/purple. I've seen this a lot in this forum. When someone says they don't like/want FFlogs usually people come with the "I see why you don't want it, you're grey" argument. So, buy FFLogs run, become orange, you now can argue.

So, to be honest, maybe I'm wrong, but people is concerned about titles and have good image just because community is giving too much credit to certain things. Honestly, I doubt they do it for glamour.

For me? A Ultimate Legend is the same as a Sprout as a person. They are not superior beings which better opinion than me just because they have a title and a weapon.

This I can live with. I could care less how people advertise their stuff. Just keep that stuff out of my sight in PF from the parts where they don't belong. The devs really done well this time.

Start paying real money for having a PF with ilvl 999 requirement.

I'll just stick to my thought that you can't suggest the use of any sort of 3rd party app in the PF field or party chat.

If it's more about randoms legitimately wanting a voice chat for PUG content, then SE can implement their own in-game voice system that would have contents recorded and saved for a short time in case GM intervention is needed.

You willing to foot the bill for these features? Cuz SE isn't, they've been against first party voice chat from the start because there are so many third party options that people are more willing to use.

In a sense they already do because as far as I can tell these advertisements are done using alt accounts as a "just in case" measure in the event SE actually takes actions against them.

Frankly, I've yet to see a piece of content that mandates voice chat and have historically viewed such as a crutch for people unwilling to research encounters or teach others beforehand. As such, losing the ability to solicit it for PUG content would not bother me in the slightest. Nonetheless, I proposed the alternative simply because some are too obsessed with it being an option. Whether or not SE thinks it worth it isn't my concern. I'd rather preemptively halt or overly complicate RMT activity as opposed to simply reacting, like the pending PF blacklist feature is.

We all know there is RMT going on for clears. However, Squeenix only accepts in game proof. They are smart enough to direct people to their discord or whatever to do the real money part. This will go on as long as there are people lame enough to buy clears.

I suppose you've killed both Ultimates with no voice chat then?

Mandatory or not also does not change that it's nice to have quick communication with your team, and since third parties are willing to pay for that, SE doesn't have the need to.
