The patch has not even gone live yet and those who played 24/7 in premade are in full panic mode cause it'll be harder to stomp PuG's.
Anyway, looking forward to the PvP forums in the coming weeks, will be fun to say the least. :)

Saying you don't like a change isn't "full panic mode". Leaving feedback in the appropriate place that an incoming change is bad is not "full panic mode".
The only people that are happy about this are those that didn't find PvP fun to begin with and just wanted to DF into an easy win for the rewards so they could be done with it for good, and couldn't handle it when they actually had to deal with people that were making impossible to mindlessly hit objectives while avoiding all fights. Restricting people from forming full parties with friends in a MMO is an idiotic move, and if you didn't like getting stomped by premades nothing was stopping you from forming your own.
I do agree that it isn't panic mode. In theory this is the spot to voice displeasure to changes. And unlike PvE changes no one has threaten to unsub. Others also get the right to voice their enjoyment. Maybe we are getting closer to making it like solo rank feast no cheesing the system to que with certain people cough cough maelstrom. Also saying people should just premade. Maybe they could just as easily say I prefer SE make it solo que. Neither side seems better then the other.
I think you are stretching. No one enjoys losing and even though premades are freelanced with a small people queing you don't have the best chance of being in a group with them. No one enjoys being stomped I have seen hands of mercy and diamond and platinum wolves just stop queing for the night. Which is what I do as well. Better things to do besides being in matches that aren't competitive. Win or lose I enjoy games that are decide by 100 points for all three teams
I see the people defending premades pretend the other side is just bad and leeches. They could be bad it could just be a bad combination of jobs, it is random and doesn't force anyone to fill a slot.So either they don't understand pug life, which is perfectly fine we wouldn't have games with out pugs. They are trying to be dramatic to make a point or it is sour grapes losing the ability to team up.
You don't even need preformed parties for Maelstrom to win matches. All the best pvp players join them.
I don't know if Maelstrom just sucks on Aether but I lose just as much with them as any other GC.
I would just check to see which gc all good pvp players join in your datacenter.
I'm looking forward to cross dc play since it will help with queues for all content. The only problem is JPs will be included too so its gonna be messy since their gameplay/tactics are different. NA/EU are fine since they speak english in EU too so it helps but JP is a different beast. I used to play FF11 so having to play with JPs was horrible and when the game aged being stuck in a server full of JPs was bad. I had to server hop to Asura the only true big english speaking server. What FF14 did well was separating regions for servers unlike in FF11.
Generally Mael is the GC negatively affected by premades, since premades have to freelance. Freelancers generally go to Adders and Flames. So if Mael dominates on your data center, this will make it worse.
Actualy my worry about all the claims against premade is actualy FFXIV is a mmorpg its normaly free to anyone to play with a group for any content of the game. There should realy have an incentive to make people form a group than promoting so much solo queue even in pvp.
Wait a minute its not like how MMO was working in the first place ?
Instead of this, almost everyone use the solo queue in a game suposed to be a MMO.
Its easier to blame the premade instead of organizing a party or play with your mates...
bring it on!!!!
Most likely since have all pvp items and don't really like new outfits don't think I will be doing much for pvp anytime past 5.1.
The 24 player ban has ruined pvp for me entirely. I basically can't play it anymore because of the times that I can play. As Simon said, the 4 player pre-made group idea should be enough to deter entire teams made of veterans and pvp fcs. Also, it's not like it was that bad before really. Only occasionally did you run into the hardcore pvp groups and even when you did... you could STILL win if you played strategically because the maps aren't all based on fighting only. One could even argue, in nearly every FL map, fighting usually is a waste of time unless capping bases or you get ganked. A lot of the time, the team that avoids fighting the most, is the one that ends up winning in the end. I don't understand SE's reluctance to expand the pvp aspect of the game, honestly... I think they have a pretty good framework in place and they could easily and given a little effort, make this game have really good pvp that will attract new players and keep current players satisfied. I really enjoy the strategic nature of the maps and revival wings is a thing of beauty. So come on SE, get your shit together and please fix these glaring problems that are not only really tarnishing the game's reputation but also, frustrating your players to no end. The 72 player only FL has got to go. Please everyone that feels passionately about this, complain complain complain. We can get them to fix this if we are loud enough. Personally, I've NEVER posted on these forums before until this happened and I'm sure there are many others out there that feel just as angry and upset as I do.
