This exactly! ^ Or like I said give us something USEFUL from the run; gives us that nice pat on the back feeling rather than getting slapped in the face. Please for the love of the Twelve, stop giving us Grade 5 Dark MATTER! ty :)

So to you 'work' is mindlessly repeating something umpteen times. Actually what it means is that people get fed up with not getting any drops and the game turns into a small niche inhabited by players prepared to spend days and weeks and months getting NOTHING due to asininely low drop rates and huge competition.
/golfclap
No one here has done Salvage have they? Try 300-400 runs to obtain a lv35 piece...rofl. Oh and having to get imperial standing to go...then only being able to once a day 3 times a week!
Darklight is not nearly so bad. If you don't like the drop rate you don't have to keep doing the instance. They will eventually release better gear anyway. I hope they make it more difficult to obtain and rarer! <3 I don't get the whole..let's hurry up and get gear so we can stand in town and be bored mentality....
How about this?...
They increase the droprate for "Unique/Untradable/Unmeldable" Darklight Gear but have a very rare drop for "Meldable Darklight Gear"?
Some may not agree with the facts of this or your opinion about it but I do fully 100%. Well all except the tokens drop, I would like to see some form of consistency instead of it being 100% random though. When you spend several hours every night doing something with you LS and noone gets a single piece of new DL gear. It tends to make some desire it more but I would likely say for most it makes you not want to even bother with it anymore.
The more you want it, the less it will drop. That's my motto on rare items. So the less I give a "fudge" about an item, the better chance it will drop.
I'm on the fence, but I'm leaning more toward leave the drop rate as a tough thing. As was previously said, maybe not everyone is meant to have everything. Maybe not everyone is meant to have everything "right now". I'll never have half the stuff I want in this game and that's just the way it is, despite my best efforts.
That being said...
You know I really liked the Assault and Nyzul Isle system in FFXI.
Assault you save up points and buy what you want. No random tokens taking up inventory space. No terrible drop rates. Just do a run, save your points, and buy your cool stuff.
Nyzul still had to deal with the drop rates, but at least you were working on multiple things at once. (Flooring up, Getting drops off bosses, looking for your mystic weapons off NMs, and the off-chance that a ??? drop off an NM would turn into something cool.)
We need more of this kind of content. Where you can do multiple things at once in the same dungeon or you just get points to buy stuff from the companies for special currency obtainable thru content.
Why not just make really hard content that's not exploitable by certain class stacking, and have a higher drop rate for completing it?
Or people just not spam a dungeon/boss 100 times a week, and let gear thats meant to be rare be rare. People complain about difficulty well anything is easy once you've done it 100 times. Maybe we wouldnt have to worry about horrid drop rates SE didnt know from the gate there were going to be people willing to not sleep until they beat a dungeon, then spam it all day everyday until everyone has full darklightQuote:

How long was Faf/Ada/Behemoth out and still people thought their drops were rare? After 5 years someone in a Hauberk was still considered pro/lucky etc etc. I think SE finally wanted to make content that wasnt outdated before the next patch was out. SE is doing their thing just fine, you want tokens go play WOW.
I played FF11 casually for about 5 years and I never got a Hauberk so meh...
Not even talking about Defending Ring...which was a 1% chance WEEKLY if you got claim, I've only remember seeing 1-2 people ever wearing it. Now thats some rare loot.
QQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111111
Enjoy your game like a real man.
Not like a sick greedy fuck.
Darklight should be kept the way it is, for the elite. I don't wanna see that shit everywhere. (Mind you, I have none)
Was DL's D.ring really 1%? I killed him 4-5 times in FFXI and saw 2 drop. I was /random off by a few points on the 2nd drop =/ oh well I didn't main PLD often enough anyway.
We were the first server kill on CC, and first server 5 chest run on both CC and MM (or really, any content or challenge so far), so I'd think we are decent players. And it is not because good gear, though I do have double meld for anything you possible need (30+ for all jobs) and 6 triple melds, and there there are some people with better equips in LS.
I personally haven't got any DL, and I only would use 4-5 of them over my current gear (DD bodies, eye patch, tank glove, maybe mage shoes) out of all pieces anyway. That doesn't mean it's fun to run 8-10 5 chest runs everyday and not getting that useful.
I'd rather them have a reentry timer like once a day and better drop rate to keep it rare, than waste time like that.
it's rare item so the drop rate very low = right thing
if drop rate high ... it just common item.
I remembered that when I played Ragnarok online, some of the rare item in game ( like boss card ) is like 0.00x% drop rate =='
Despite WoW being a dirty word, here we go.
I am not so much for big fat piece tokens dropping (like a single token dropping to exchange for a head piece), however after a lot of thought I've come to believe more and more that the Justice Point and Valor Point system is one of the most well-done reward systems in an MMO.
To those who do not know how it works, I'll explain.
Both points are essentially a type of currency rewarded for either killing bosses or beating a dungeon. Valor Points are the higher value of the two, and you could only receive so many in a week while you could continually grind up Justice Points. Each point allowed you to buy high-end gear, but Justice Points would buy your entry-level armor and Valor Points bought your higher end pieces.
Now, if you wanted to apply this system to FFXIV in a way I think might be more interesting, you could have a type of point that would be received for beating all types of enemies in a dungeon (IE trash mobs), and then have a special type of point rewarded for beating a boss. Furthermore if you achieved a speed run, you could be rewarded a larger amount of points, or you could make the high-tier points only rewarded for completing speed runs, etc. These high tier points could then be spent on the Darklight pieces the players wanted, and the players would be rewarded for their time when they came on a run and not rewarded if they sat out. The rewards would more appropriately reflect the amount of work put in by a player.
I'm more than open to the idea that there are several tiers of this so that players achieving speed runs or special conditions gain access to gear that can't be bought through points obtained only through killing trash or beating a boss without extra effort. But I believe this system would heavily benefit the game and make players feel much more rewarded for their time and efforts. Furthermore, it would allow multiple members of the group to essentially gain rewards at the same times and gear up at an equal pace, making it less likely that members of a group would be left behind in gear simply because of bad luck with a random number generator.
Instead of dropping the DL gear just have a DL helm token drop(same drop rate) which could be turned in for any of the DL head pieces and head/chest is required for the gear that takes up both slots. Right now its fucking retarded after getting ~25 drops and not a single mage piece. GG SE
I'd rather that then doing the event like 10 times and having everything, then waiting 1.5 months with nothing to do until the next patch hits so I can get a full set of the "new best gear" in 3 days.
People bitch about time sinks all the time, but I'd much much much rather have time sinks than having everything handed to me.
Also, a point or token system would affect greatly the casual player. Of which, there are many on our game.
If we did have a point system, it works out nice for the person who plays 4-8 hours a day. But the players who can only manage maybe 8-10 a week would lose out. Some amount of points that takes you a month to gather would take obviously a lot longer for them...but if you leave it as a random drop, they have a chance every time. Just like everyone else.
Chance is a game's equalizer and draw. Removing it for a foregone conclusion that causes a hierarchy of players, seems a bit counter-intuitive.
Let me just throw my two cents in...
Not many people will have this stuff by the time the level cap rises, at which point it will become worthless, so why try?
Progression system could be great. But since you all wanted vertical progression and since you were so adamant about not having gear swap macros, every new piece of gear in this game will turn very useless, very quickly. A progression system on the good gear will just add another item to the throwaway list a few short months later, if anyone even continues to do this raid after level cap increase.
Congratulations, players, on the excellent direction you've sent this game in.
Considering a level cap raise is a good year away, I don't think the gear will become useless that quickly.
And yea blink gear swapping was retarded. Switching out 12 pieces of gear for a WS then switching back to haste gear or whatever while shimmering like the Predator just made me want to get to the chopper.
lol funny coming from a guy that spends his time harassing other players with emotes....,
come on...how old are you?
not to mention...what was it you wrote?....oh ya...
(Everyone.... meaning the entire 3 players of your entire LS, rest are bots or mules....lol)Quote:
A big embarrassing weeaboo baddie who plays an already highly embarrassing game. Everyone laughs at her.
Please just stop lying and stop playing this "Failing" game of yours Shugo....lol
And thank you for uploading that video btw, saved me alot of time....
since i showed it to one of the developers... ^.^)b
Embaressed yet... Shugo?
Im starting to think you arent very smart...are you?.... lmao
That's one extreme that leads to boredom, the other being that with a 0.0001% chance of getting a single piece and only having that one chance per run gets frustrating to the point of wanting to just not bother.
Balance: 1 hr run, mobs with increased deffuculty @0.1%(1 in 1000) drop rate, added NMs @1.0%(1 in 100) drop rate, Boss @5%(1 in 20).
No balance A: 1hr to run, no farming, one boss drops 1 item @0.01%(1 in 10000 chance of one "item" for 8 ppl to get full gear could take up to 8*5*10000=400,000 runs);
No balance B: 1hr to run, farming weak mobs @10% drop rate, added NMs @50% drop rate, Boss @90%;
Got to find the balance, keep players in a place where they "know" they can get a drop if they take a little extra time.
The SR5C idea is just stupid, and anyone that argues that content is too short should agree that "get it done as fast as possible" mechanics don't make things take more time, and is it really that interesting to speed run through everything?
There's gotta be some activities people enjoy taking a little more time on, sex for instance ...
meh, that looks like something from Dark Souls, you sure you're in the correct game Klaus?
btw you look stupid....doh then again, whats new?
And ragequit?...no i joined my fellow countrymen on a new server,
wich has been the plan since this game started loosing players.
Embarrass?.... only thing embarrassing is you and your attitude towards this game & other players, harassment & elitism is old, get over FFXI or go back.
You said something about ruining the game for others, how funny... thats rich
coming from someone who actually ruins the game for others. (retard...)
Im amazed the Staff havent decided to ban you yet...
Then again, they want your money, and it seems you dont mind paying for a failing game.
(your words werent they?)
Are there any words you do not understand klaus, maybe you need some more reading "Skills".
In fact ill make it easier for you, i'll write it in my own language. (In case you forgot its swedish)
Planen var att flytta till ny server så fort SquareEnix gjorde det möjligt.
Anledning? För att det inte fanns tillräckligt med europeiska spelare på Wutai servern.
Bonusen var att jag slapp dig & ditt förbannade linkshell av idioter.
You really do take pride in harassing people dont you, even upload
a video of yourself and your LS doing the deed?
Are you stupid or something?
( Link to post & video )
You started harassing me for Suggesting a few things on this forum, calling me an ebarrassment, etc...
this entire forums is full of people doing the same thing, suggesting things,
why dont you go harass them aswell now that ur on a roll?
Or is it just me your after?
Feel free to answer only that last question Klaus...or any other of your LS members.
I'd love to see the dev response on this thou....not that they seem to give a darn.
Drop rate too low, players complain; drop rate too high, players complain.
It's more of a difference between re-entry cooldowns and drop rates. Currently people do not want low re-entry and low drop rate because that requires grinding and grinding and grinding. People don't want 24 hours cooldown either because then they "can't play." IMO the best possible course of action is to just make drop rates better if you get the speed run so the people who can actually do it get a higher chance of obtaining gear as opposed to those who cannot.
