Would you like to see a LFG icon besides the player name?

yeah pretty rare, but it does indeed have no downsides to it at all.

Definitely a fan of this. Despite the addition of a 'search' function, being able to physically SEE a LFG icon would help a ton! On my server, lots of people hang around the crystal and market wards while looking for a leveling party. With the LFG icon (and possibly a LEVEL icon next to it), finding people would be a lot easier (especially given the current 'shout' limitation).

What do I mean by a level icon? When you look at someone who is LFG, it would say their level next to their nameplate like it does for a mob. Next to that would be a LFG icon. This is so people don't even have to 'check' someone to know. Ah hell, add in a little icon for their job/class too! Let's make it real convenient!

I personally do not really care for the whole LinkShell/Guild aspect of MMO's and all the drama that they entail. However, I do still need and in fact want to team up with others for party-based content.

A simpler Search Function and a LFG icon would go a long ways towards improving this game, imho.

Didn't say the problem was with you, just saying when SE implements this other people would end up being too lazy to use it just like all the other "functions". Are people now going to sit in uldah with an ! up and not just shout for pt? Are they going to sit in front of the dungeon with a ! up looking for a pt? There is already an ! beside your name in the LFG search box. All people have to do is bring that up / actually use it and see all the people who are !-ing for a group. The player base as a whole prefers shouting for a party. "It's easier". Nothing implemented by SE would change that.

ya gotta remember that a lot of the wonky systems in place are going to change as the server and game infrastructure change. the current player search and party system is still laughable but i doubt that they can overhaul it at this time. they're giving us a lot of stuff we wanted and making the game leagues better so i'm confident they already have something like this planned with the new engine/UI

Yes this would be a good thing to add. I think the search feature is a big improvement over the XI one, but at the same time I got party invites in XI from people who saw my flag up when they ran past.

One neat thing I discovered this weekend is I can set a preferred job in the search flag, and then be on another job doing something else. Great idea that!

Would be also nice if it was easier to do player search when targeting those players LFG and see what they wanting to do, kind of like how people posted search comments. I know FF14 already has one but you have to type in the characters name then read the comment now right? Don't want to bother players LFG on different class than what they actually using at that time, or when they are LFG for raid etc... guess same thing as players setting up their search status correctly etc but seems like not much using it still ><

This weekend I heavily used the party search matching for Cutter's Cry. And it actually worked really well. It filled my group up fast. Seems like mostly JP use it though. If more people even TRIED to use the search functions. It would be better. But guess will take time. LFG icon is a start..one step forward two steps back? :-)

Yep I see lots of JP shouting to search their name and read the comment and if interested or match the requirements in there to join the PT.

It's good feature if more and more people did use it.

So many icons as is but sure I think it would be a good addition. People would have more incentive to flag for party, since people in town could see it as well.

You'd be surprised by how many people never bother to read patch notes or check the site. These people don't realize the utility of the search/seek system at all, and will never bother if they don't think it's worth using. Keeping this information solely on the Lodestone wont reach this crowd. That's the point of this feature.

Awareness needs to be increased within the game itself if the search/seek features are going to be successfully utilized by the general populace. This seek flag feature is a step in the right direction to increase that awareness and spark curiosity in the uninformed.

It's just one more way to get noticed that you are seeking, it doesn't hurt anything unless you are worried about icon clutter.

It might even get you added to a group quickly once 100 people are seeking for Cutter's Cry* and you happen to be standing right outside the entrance with your flag up ready to go after your Linkshell's runs are complete for the day and you are still wide awake.

*Ok, wishful thinking but I am an optimist ;)

OMG finally! I can't wait to see all the LFG icons next to every dragoon ; . ; brings back old memories!
