Hey Viera and Hrothgar players!

I'm fine with how things are, I barely changed my hair and outside a few never wore hats, I'm be happy when we get more, might mess with them but don't really care so I'm not in any rush.

I play a viera and i'm fine with it, I like my characters hair style so I don't need more options.

Limited hair options - I was dissatisfied at first. Especially since they are tied to face so I had to choose between picking face type or hairstyle that I like to settle with. Would like to see how would they address the need for fantasia if Hrothgar gets new hairstyles in the future. I normally stick with 1 hairstyle so that isn't an issue for me.

Facial expressions / emotes - I really love them! They are bubbly and more expressive than I thought. Being a former male miqote however the one thing I REALLY miss is our signature /aback emote. Can't a fellow big catman have it too, please?

I'm completely okay with it! Viera hairstyles are some of the best in the game for me, so I'm alright with having the few that we have because they're so finely made. Of course I'm also excited about the (potentially new) hairstyles we're going to get later, too.

I never really wore hats anyway, mostly just flowers.

I'm okay with things. I have one or two hairstyles I like and I'm not a fan of hats or most head wear, so am happy.

I tried Viera and unfortunately the lack of hats is what broke it for me. I spent weeks in Eureka getting the tank armor and it looks goofy without the helmet on. =(

IMO i think the lack of hairstyles and wearable hats/helm not implemented right at the start like the previously implemented au'ra is unacceptable. I've been playing this game for 6 years unlocking and buying hairstyles/glamours to support the devs even further and not being able to wear them on the new races with no warning of any indication seems like they are not respecting our time and effort.

But yoshi-p did say they will implement more as they go but not as much as the other races. Not sure why they are trying to exclusive limit the 2 new races from the other races instead of incorporating them into one. Honestly, i'm gonna wait till 5.1 to see how much they will work on the 2 new races. If it does not meet my expectations, i'll just fantasia back to my previous race.

I find hrothgar facial expressions to be more expressive than every other race personally, lion face or no.

Viera look TERRIBLE. Soulless, inanimate, like Barbie dolls but in a bad way. Their ears don’t move and they have that resting ***** face that makes them all look the same. I’ve been seeing them less and less too, a sure sign that people are switching back.

Hrothgar fare a bit better, as they’re much more expressive, but it only goes so far as they have about 2 viable face/hair combos, making them all look the same, with coloring as the only identifier.

In the end, both were half-assed and should never have been released in this state. The hairstyle situation, in particular, is unforgivable.

I'm feel alright about it all. I rarely wore any helmet that obscured my face at any rate before becoming Hrothgar.

They are pretty expressive even without their face visible either way.

Animation aside I think the Viera body proportions are really realistic instead of some cartoon looking trash like WoW has.
For that they get the A+.

Animations needs work.
Hairstyles need severe work. Although what IS in, are very pretty. Not really an ugly style for them.
Hats need a massive overhaul add in. I mean, wtf, Viera RDM was a KEY role in ffta/2 even. The viera rdm hat is iconic.
I think the flopped over ears need to be removed, they make them look like clown jesters and foolish, I feel insulted even just seeing someone else with them, not cute at all. Thankfully hardly anyone picks those retarded looking variants.

Above issues aside, the “base” work for it is excellent, but LMK when viera is out of beta, k thx.
Overall still very satisfied with Viera, wife is as well.

Funny enough she changed to one because she wanted the big boobs LOL


Something Ive noticed though is a Vieras true glamouring comes from how you show their legs or tummy.
Theres not many face options and ears for the most part look the same on everyone.

If you want to really make your viera your own youll setup glamours surrounding their best asset.
Long stomach and very long legs

This is one race where wearing a long dress is a massive disservice, but Im ok with it.

I've honestly gotten a bit annoyed with how many Viera I've seen that look like me.
Its a bit worse for Hrothgar, because of the face/hair locking, resulting in people using the same face AND hair combo, almost exclusively.

But I'm probably going to be swapping back to Miqo.

Viera for me is the perfect mix between the cutesy Au Ra and the sexy Miqo'te, and for now I don't see myself switching. My biggest gripe with them definitely isn't lack of headgear, I don't wear any most of the time. It's also not the lack of hairstyles per se though I would enjoy more. I dislike the fact we didn't get any of the exclusive hairstyles (Eureka, HoH, mogstation especially) and we aren't even sure if we do get them.

While animations could be better, I mostly see them still fitting. They aren't very expressive and are rather timid in expressions which I think is an attribute of their race. The hairstyles are super pretty and I don't think I dislike any.

Between 'meh' and 'bad'.

I keep seeing people mention that Hrothgar need a Fantasia to change their hairstyle, but tacked on to that is making it seem like it is a cash grab from SE. Not really a profitable idea on SE's part, if you ask me for only one race/gender. I feel that adding the face option for Hrothgar in the Aesthentician as a quick fix would break something because of the game's spaghetti code.

If Viera had this problem that Hrothgar have, I imagine that there would be more outrage probably.

Aside from that, I do miss some of my hats and hoods. I imagine it's gonna be really difficult for SE's art team to remodel and refit things to Hrothgar heads.

And a bald hairstyle for Hrothgar is totally doable.

I like my hair. Though, I won't complain if they add more, nor if they remove needing to use a Fantasia to change it.

I'm not too fussed about the hair options. It would be nice to have, especially as some time was put in to getting some of them, but I'm happy enough with the one I have.

Hats, however, are disappointing. I use headgear on about half of my glamours, and hats on all of my casters, which I play most of the time when I'm not healing. I keep seeing really nice hats drop from chests and it's a reminder that Viera and Hrothgar are a somewhat unfinished set.

Hopefully we have some progress on headgear options soon, but considering we couldn't get some of the stuff from 5.0 to work I'm not expecting too much yet.

After playing the overly cutesy Aura I was taken aback by their rather stoic animations but it's like u said, that's just the race and I love it, that's more diversity

This is just rude and mean. Some of us very much love/appreciate the aesthetic of a tall, contemplative, twiggy model, nor does subtle and reserved equate to 'soulless' and 'inanimate'; Viera are very expressive as seen above, and beautifully made. They're something that haven't existed in this game as an option despite it being a primary visual archetype for both genders in nearly every other Final Fantasy title (and no, Elezen don't remotely count).

Just because their body language isn't exaggerated like Miqo'te, doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with the race.

It's just their opinions. I don't have an issue with their animations since they fit my character's personality but it's understandable why others would want something more expressive especially if the other races have more exaggerated emotes that they're used to. The numbers of player Viera out in the world are decreasing though.

Not so much the hats IMO, but the helms. The hats I can see are easily doable, since a lot of them like the BRD and RDM ones can easily sit on the head without much clipping involved. The helms however, oof, that one would take a long time due to stretching and whatnot.

I dunno if I'd agree with that. While I'm probably using the most popular face/hair combo for Hrothgar, it's definitely not the most common by a very large margin. I see a lot of the "soft" face in-game, and even of those I see with the same face/hair I use, I've only run into one other Hrothgar so far that actually looks similar to my character, due to the large variance in color palettes and other customization options (i.e. even of those I see using the same face/hair combo, rarely do I see any using the braid on the front).

So far I'm happy. Not many any that looks like mine oddly, most pick the super young cute face. I do miss my dragoon helm though, that's the only thing making me wanting to swap back.. May do that today even lol

I only miss to have the Face/Hair option locked.... we don't have changes of hair,

Good choice. Au Ra were always my favorite before. I would switch to miqo'te from time to time for some variation, but always went back to this one. I barely change anything about her either, this time I changed her tail.. kind of (just length).. Can't fix what isn't broke!

I'd say it's definitely worth switching back to an au ra, or at the very least waiting to see what kind of updates or when they have planned for viera. However, if you are missing a helmet... yeah, you might as well switch back now. Doubt we will ever see those.

I love how expressive Hrothgars are.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned that bugs me though is how some circlets seems to float in front of the hrothgar's forehead.

I miss hats.

I find it slightly funny that when Viera were chosen as one of the new races most of the complaints were "it's just going to be X with bunny ears!" Now they're out its "They don't emote like X! They don't move like X! They don't look like/can be as short as/have faces like X!"
A lot of people now seem to want them to be an exact carbon copy of their favourite race, just with the ears.

Tbh, it could be seen coming. They were pretty much just Elezen with ears, they're not that unique of a race sadly.

I have to disagree, Im finding my Viera glamoured in outfits highlighting her stomach and long legs to be something no other race can do

And Hrothgar are a clone of Charr from Guild Wars 2. Meanwhile, I can't think of anything else with a glamazon bunny race that isn't another Final Fantasy title.

There's no need to try and insult others to try and make your choice seem more legitimate. The Viera are more unique then the other races in mesh quality and textures too. Just because you have the hunchback of notre dame style, doesn't mean Viera are any lesser.

I don't understand why people can't enjoy both of the new races. If Hrothgar or Viera aren't their thing, that's fine but I just don't understand this whole us vs. them thing going on here. Both of the new races are great, limitations aside. Just live and let live. No need to insult each other over your choice of race.
