Dissapointed With The Live Letter

I was glad to see that fixes are coming for the jobs that need it more but was disappointed to not hear anything about story replay/New game+. I was wanting to level some jobs by replaying the story...

There were a lot of questions wich really were more like interview questions, like what drew inspiration for this, what is your favorite that. I mean, we can save that for interviews, not Q&A's. I would expect Q&A's to adress in game situations that concern the players, and there were a lot of good questions that went unanswered. So, yeah... that was disappointing.

They've already explained about missing genders in the past. It was either give one race with two genders, or two races with one gender each. They couldn't do both. They probably expected male viera wouldn't be popular enough (although I'm sure many would love them).

They're not going to just create two new genders all of a sudden because people complain. Maybe in two expansions time but now not.

It did also read like they planned to address more things at other times like PAX, so they could be waiting until they have something definitive to share before answering certain questions.

Disappointing that it seems like future implemented hairstyles for Viera will be unique and race restricted. Would have liked to have gotten a confirmation on Modern Aesthetic hairstyles....... until then, I'm staying a potato.

They did not adress the Hrothgar issue regarding needing to use a fantasia to change hairstyles. Knowing they're going to implement more Hrothgar hairstyle, have they deliberately ignored that question?

Seems to me like this is something they should address on the double (and by address, I mean in the context of responding to this inquiry).

If they release a new hairstyle but lock it behind a fantasia for my Hrothgar character then I'll still buy one-and change him back to Roegadyn where I could vary his looks more.

Funny all those topics you mentioned are either about cosmetics or glamours. Ha ha. As if the liveletter was actually way more important for other things... like job balances and what they planned for 5.1.
Dissapointed. Indeed.

I admit, I'm a bit underwhelmed by what they said about SMN. Yes, increasing the potencies under Ruination is a nice start, but it's really just a band-aid over the issues of DoT timings as well as the overall flow of the job itself. I still have my thoughts on how SMN could be improved, and I've already brought up some of them elsewhere, but in any case this thread is not the place for that discussion. That said, they did say they would also continue to work with feedback and may expand on the changes, so here's hoping.

Yeah, they honestly should have answered this question. I saw it many times as a duplicate, so it’s kind of like... people want an answer to it. I think it’s stupid as heck that Hrothgar have to buy a Fantasia to change their hair style. I don’t understand why they locked them to faces, but I also don’t know if this was a character customization limitation or what. I honestly can’t come up with a decent answer in my head to it without sounding dumb.

Looking at the male viera art in the OP's post I can tell they are one of those forever-butt-hurt players who won't shut up about male viera inclusion. Even though the devs have a stance on it.

Get over it man, and focus more on having a better gameplay experience in the game.

So many questions that idgaf about. Pretty much anything concerning customization was disappointing. Customization is pretty much screwed in general.

I feel particularly bad for beard enthusiasts now.

I'm a little disappointed as well. A lot of the questions that were chosen were very 'safe' questions. Furthermore, some of them didn't even get proper answers which makes me wonder why they were even chosen in the first place. I do feel for the development team, though - my tentative impression is that they're being put under a lot of strain as the game increases in prominence and by trying to please so many different types of players at once we end up with an increasing number of compromises.

What really bugs me is this:
The thing we can customize, the markings, are completely hidden by most of the gear that is not a swimsuit. And the thing that will almost never be hidden because most of the headwears don't show, the hairs, have very very few variations, are tied to the faces and locked behind fantasia usage..

Honestly it feels like Viera are only getting racial hairstyles due to Hrothgar they don't want to give more hairstyles to one of the new half races over the other but you then have the whole needing to use a freaking fantasia to do what every other race can do including Viera >_>

Man I was hoping to get a answer on why the striking gear set from eden is just a copy n paste of the healer set. Pissed me the hell off seeing that is melee got screwed over. /rant

Also love how theyanswer min ilv for leveling dungeons with a we don't want to do it that way, so the best we can hope for is level lock on gear pieces which would probably allow ilv 290 SB gear in Hollminster still far too below acceptable :/

As a Hroth player I say, I couldn't care less. Hrothgars have issues of their own but give Viera all the hairstyles they can (and should) be able to use and not hold them back because "equality" - that only makes Viera players resent Hrothgars even more.

That one definitely sounded distinctly Japanese. lol Also, I read the entire question thread here on the English forums and that wording wasn't there.

I just watch YT video from MrHappy regarding the Live Letter & the questions that were asked, Thank God I didnt have to get up at 6am (CST) to watch it...had to go to work any way...lol!
The Live Letter questions were MEH!!
The only thing that got my interest was have the TRUST in more content.
I know there close to 1000 questions that were listed in the Live Level OP, and I know he was going to answer a small fraction of them. BUT really, some of the questions that were picked...just had to SMH!!

It will do if ever comes to light already seeing people resent Hrothgar and Viera because of no primal weapons for dnc and gnb. It really is unfortunate they should've waited and did more polish on everything but then you run into can this community handle delayed patches/expansions (which from experience is a no).

What is there to really say about it? Unless they're delaying the level boost to 5.2 or something not much to say, I think they're only slightly less likely to make it a normal job than they are to add male viera/female hrothgar in the near future.

Considering how taxing these live letters can be and how 99% of the time they have to "check with the team if it can be done" most of these LLPs now a days feel forced and at the same time hollow.

Their best bet should be prerecorded, detailed but to the point of things. the "live" format for them doesn't seem to translate well anymore if they will keep picking some of the questions which just don't cover topics, they can even delay these until staff properly filters out topics with some word cloud software.

Outside of that I'd rather just wait for summaries form sites or discords/reddit.

What surprised me the most is that they didn't even consider to make Nier weapons.
Like eh?
I was expecting them to roll out as PvP glamour weapons or gold saucer.
But now at best we will get a katana which isn't even sure.

Yeah. Based on some of the questions that were picked I would have honestly preferred to have not had a Q&A at all and just had them tell us stuff.

Seems like the reason for the free Fantasia in the latest promotion is their way of saying "Viera are done, they are what they are, here's a potion to fix the mistake -you- made." We're still out $10 though. For those who wanted changes to them anyway.

Love how they didn’t answer why Viera and Midlanders have the same exact Hempen designs, lol.

Yeahhh... If they're gonna keep hairstyles race specific, I seriously hope they add race specific hairstyles that look an awful lot like the ones you have to unlock or pay for.

Huge disappointment if they don't.
