See, I only watched baseball for a few players, and when they retired, i stopped, so that analogy doesn't work well for me XD

the expansion is literally further progress our character even more, opening all the secrets and the truth about our WOL, we finally learn the truth about ascian, and our scion friends is even growing more than i expected.Quote:
there is no more growth
meanwhile, all reviewer and youtuber and people who play this game come to conclusion that this expansion is probably the most "final fantasy" game ever compare to other recent FF gamesQuote:
This is not what I call a final fantasy game
i have a very bad news for you lolQuote:
Let them get some bad press. They will be quick to fix it then.
so yeah, all in all you are in for yourself. hey if you dont like it thats fine, there are a lot of games out there and its not like you are forced to play this one anyway.
I think its ironic you're looking to go to another game because there's a small bit of bullying here.
So which game are you going to go to? WoW and ESO have parsers built into their systems through LUA addons. They're not going to request your logs, they already know your score. You're simply going to get a yes or no. The Everquests uses parses as well, in fact all the modern parsers ARE Everquest parsers with addons used to work on other games. Couple this with the fact that FFXIV has the most respectable community going right now despite its 'issues'.
If you're looking for unique content and FFXIV is not doing it for you. I'm going to say this. You beaten MMORPGs. Congrats. No other MMO is going to give you more unique boss and dungeon mechanics. The other games copy from FFXIV and do so poorly due to their systems not being capable for it. I've done Mythical raiding in WoW and it doesn't even compare to Savages in FFXIV. Same with ESO veteran content. Hell some of that can be done with 3 DPS and a Healer and no tank.
Right before Elsywer came out we did an endgame Trial (12 man) with 11 people. Tank had to go and we completed the bosses with 11 people, no tanks. Just 3 Healers and 8 DPS. After the expansion hit, my friends and I cleared through it with 4 Necros. One tanking, one healing, and two magicka dps. Just rolled through. That's why I came back to FFXIV.
I'm not saying you're making the wrong decision, but I can attest the grass isn't greener. You might just be burnt out on MMOs. I'd suggest Conan Exiles, but bullying is kind of what that game is built around doing. And you don't look like one who is competitive.
Welcome to every mmo ever made.
This doesn't matter either if you're seeking casual statics that don't care about them. And these do exist - I've seen them advertised and been in them. They only become important if you're looking to join more hardcore ones that push for fast progression, speed runs, or pad runs. Or who want to tackle Ultimate content because you do actually need to be decent to clear that content.
im sorry ... WHAT ?! Shb have one of best story telling you can get in a while, its as same level like witcher 3 or some goods Jrpgs over there, for me ff 14 is single player story based with coop things like dungeons
also got lot of from other final fantasy series that I love
iam sorry but... isnt this exactly how other mmorpg do too? hey look new wow expac, same old level cap, same old grind, same old raid, same old rep grind.Quote:
I feel like SE thinks we are stupid this is the exact same thing over and over and over
i think you are tired with FF14, seriously though take a break, play other games.
Please Explain how this game lost its Identity.
All I see you talk about is that your bored of the game, and you are mad that we didn't get a new healer.
And how is there no growth? You've been playing the game for 4 years and you think there is no growth? Have you not been paying attention to the game your playing? This makes zero sense.
So far I haven't heard a single thing about the games Identity, only just what YOU don't like.
The game knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to be anything more. What it does do is continually improve its strengths, and it's strengths are great enough to keep people coming back. The basic formula may always be the same, but they continually find fantastic ways to keep things fresh and Shadowbringers is a masterful example of this. They may make mistakes here and there, but their passion for making the best game they can is real.
Welcome to the world of MMOs.
It's expected that at a foundational level that everything is going to be the same. That's how MMORPGs work.
What separates a good MMO from a bad one is how well they can "dress it up" and make the presentation of the (admittedly) repetitive content interesting. And IMO, they have done a very good job of it for ShB.
Awww.... Here, take this juicy carrot right from my Lalafell-only FC's garden; it can help calming your anger issues for a while! *pat pat*
Anyways,
I am glad FFXIV is what it is right now. Granted, the fan service is somewhat over the top in some regards (this ridiculous Yo Kai Watch crap was a no-go or gigantic Shanttotos walking all over the place) but this kind of feel, the vibes this game dragged and still drags me in is what other games, especially western MMOs, is missing.
There is a certain profession design that is so FF and exclusively found here, coupled with a fun gameplay and a great community that FFXIV has. And apart from FF Tactics Advance, I can not stand any other Final Fantasy game, they are awful. So if I want to get the sweet of talented artists of this franchise, XIV is a constant deliverer!
If you want to have changes over and over, see how terrible League of Legends and Guild Wars 2 handles their design principles for their professions. They manage to shift solid roles, like tanks, all over the place until they go into the jungle... FFXIV was the first game since a decade to me that actually made valid and purposeful changes (to Red Mage in my example), so they get many Kudos from me in that matter.
Balancing is fine, even though I wonder where the cool stuff for the Scholars is supposed to be as mentioned by some, but I can't say it's unplayable.
Sincerely,

??? The only new thing we have to come to that conclusion is FATEs. Well, I guess dungeons, but there's nothing new in those. All they did with FATEs is add a new layer of reward.
I fail to see how they've dressed up anything.
Or are you just wearing rose-tinted glasses? That's fine if you are, I'm just curious how you came to that conclusion. I'm definitely not seeing what you are.
Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
Isn't that the way every mmo works sweaty.
No shade
Here is my thing #1 for any paid content I expect good not great customer service. Call right now and ask any question and they will lie, hang up on you, or not even resolve the problem. This has been going on since launch and it is unacceptable. The player base has gotten more toxic with logs. I play for content not story. I have never watched any part of the story because it is not what I enjoy. I enjoy content and we are getting the same content over and over. Omega was not a good raid and that's all they focused on for 2 years. 2 years of bullshit sorry it's not acceptable. I am not ok playing 60 for a story or graphics I want content. They completely gutted all the classes to make it generic content to fit the masses and it stopped feeling like final fantasy. They want your money if people do not understand it, you are buying into crap sorry I just realized it. I'm here for discussion. I wasn't the one that started the attacking but w/e yall can believe these lies something new and shiny will have the people of Rome running to something else.
Oh have I missed something? I thought the storyline was content?
Maybe you are only interested in the fabled "end game" stuff - if so then I am pretty sure it has been said time and time again that will come with the next patch.
>I play for content, not the story
>it stopped feeling like Final Fantasy
But Final Fantasy's primary focus has always been...the...story??? And are you telling me you don't like the consistency of when the raid tiers are introduced and a consistent major patch schedule they have? Other MMOs don't have this, little brother. Also, they didn't gut all the classes. The Healers and Monk are not "all the classes". Machinist has never played better, Black Mage has the biggest, swingingest d**k when it comes to DPS and it's comfy, and Dark Knight is fun again. These recent QoL adjustments made for better playability across the board and we are, given SE's track record, likely to see more adjustments in the future with the more data they gather.
Story is the main set of content for this game, and for a lot of players (from my understanding, though I could be wrong on this), they do indeed enjoy the story. Not everyone is going to enjoy the story and that's OK, but instead of trying to get Square Enix to turn Final Fantasy into something it's not, maybe it's time to look elsewhere like you've said. I've absolutely loved the ShB story so far (not quite finished yet though). Dancer is a lot of fun, and I'm going to be picking up my healers after. Are there areas where they can improve? Certainly. But, I will vehemently disagree on it losing its identity. One of the things that keeps me coming back to FFXIV: I feel immersed in the world through their storytelling. I played WoW, and I couldn't get immersed in the world there. Now that's not a knock against WoW (its focus is more the endgame content, and that's fine), and things could well have changed since I last played (Pandaria), but WoW just wasn't for me.
With regards to the parsers, that's a twofold thing to refute.
1. If you're seeking a casual static, they don't really care about logs for the most part (if they decide to become midcore, then yeah, they'll start caring, but that's a player phenomena), and casual statics exist in droves from my experience. Have been in them and indeed run one myself.
2. Parsers are a thing in every game. But if someone mentions actual numbers to you saying "You did this much damage", you can report them, as SqEx operate a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. Parsers aren't going away anytime soon. Not unless they find everyone making the parsers and fire legal action at them. The amount of bad PR that would generate though would be astronomical and be the equivalent to shooting themselves in the foot, with a nuclear rocket launcher (not just a standard rocket launcher). But most people don't give two hoots about DPS, as long as the content gets completed. A lot of those who do, also do not care outside of Savage/Ultimate (where it matters more, they may slightly care in Extreme primals though), so your casual content will still be very much OK. Only a few will cause issues in casual content and that's just donkeys being donkeys.
Oh its one of those "weekend threads". xD
So this is about not getting a new healer and has nothing to do with the title at all
- healer dps
- fix *insert job here*
- #notmyfinalfantasy
- tank pull
seems to be the weekend thread nowadays
Helluuuu this game will never change, only poop expansions.
Troll thread.
I never understood why one either have to play "the" MMO at all times or just quit it and find a new one.
I jump between MMOs when I feel for it.
FFXIV has good story driven gameplay and the cutscenes can be a nice break to just lean back and take a breather.
Sometimes I just feel to take it easy and do easy stuff like running Dungeons or FATEs for the new FATE grind.
The EX Primal fights is alot of fun imo to tackle. Never given Savage Raids a try since I never been interested enouth to even start.
My other main MMO I play in ESO.
I like how the gameworld feels more open and how everything scales to your level. Meaning you can go anywhere whenever you want and do whatever you want when you feel like it.
Meaning you can enter a map and start any quest you come across regardless if you're a first day player or a 1 year old veteran.
There's still alot of quests and story I haven't done in ESO in almost 2 years now.
Done Veteran Trials (raids in ESO) and it's been alot of fun to me.
ESO doesn't require a subscription to play, so whenever I feel like it I can just sub to FFXIV and roam around here without feeling like I have to pay subscriptions for 2 MMOs at once.
The game and character will be there waiting for my return.
To me there is no perfect MMO that can satisfy my every need of what I am looking for in an MMO, so I do the next best. I find what I am looking for in different games.
As games are made and focused differently.
If you like FFXIV but tired that it has lost its identity you can just take a break from FFXIV and find that identity in another game.
And when/if you feel like it you can return here.
There's no need to be so dramatic about leaving a game. People come and people go.
And people take breaks from games when they don't find it fun and return later when it feels more fun again.
Game changes and so do people.
It's natural.
god im going to kill myself...
You're in luck! I've got a crazy discount sale on nooses right now. Can I interest you in this fine crushed velvet one? If you'd like to feel, you'd notices its incredibly soft texture so it won't cause any chaffing or irritation at the time of hanging! /s
GUYS SETTLE DOWN ITS A JOKE, ITS SATIRE.
Helluuuuuuuuuu
You mean the same old worn out complaint threads. If you actually took the time to look there are quite a few new things introduced to the game but that doesn't quite fit it's always the same agenda.
And relative to healers I love the new WHM and I'm leveling AST and it seems pretty cool. Sorry but fishing for a balance wasn't my idea of fun.
Yeah I don't understand the whole concept of saying goodbye on forums.
Unless you have tons of friends but wouldn't it be best to tell them goodbye, I mean I get the whole idea that you think SE will read your comment and go.
Uh oh this player is really going to leave? QUICK!! make something that will keep this guy interested Go go go before he hits the unsubscribe button.
Everyone in the office red alert red alert someone is going to quit we need a new strategy on the double MAN the computers.
If I ever left I would just go but doesn't mean I wont return maybe down the road later when they updated game.
Damn... People are really ganging up on the OP. lol
So.. let me get this straight. The game has lost its identity because it continues to be the same as it was? Hokay.
Except Shadowbringers is the best expansion to date by a mile. Bye OP, hope you find what you're looking for.
FFXIV's predictability is a feature not a problem xD.
