North American Data Center Lag?

It seems to be starting to clear up.

Looks like hop 16 and 18 have cleared up. 17 still having a lot of trouble from time to time with packet loss but it's half what it was.

Probably the NTT datacenter demark node. if it was the switches in the SE racks we'd have bigger issues, and it would be isolated to 1 datacenter most likely, not all of them. each datacenter would have its own network stack for the server cluster so one datacenter wouldn't effect the other. Part of the reason for the split. 50% more network equipment to balance the traffic out.

Yep, input lag in talking to NPCs and crafting. Ran first ShB dungeon tonight on my alt with my hubby. I dc'd twice and the tank dc'd twice.

It's getting aggravating... just tried to do a PvP daily, and THAT was a mistake.

As others said, its not the server nor the datacenter. I've seen others have issues all day and I've been unaffected. No input lag, no disconnects. Friend of mine has had the issues all day pretty much. Tracert's people provided are showing where the issue is.

Restarting the servers would make the problem worse as the node that is having issues would suddenly have a mass login request if the servers were restarted.

I don't know if it is related but broadcasters on Twitch I was watching were also having some issues with their live-stream connection throughout the day.

Every time I cast peloton the animation comes 5ish seconds later. There is definitely something going on, Iv'e only just recently returned for the expansion though. Just one thing I noticed.

Well, it seemed to resolve itself for me; I was able to run several roulettes without issues.

It did clear up for me around 11pm CST last night, though I have no idea what to expect today.

Apparently we can expect another day of lag, friends say they're getting dc'd left and right all of a sudden and things in game aren't moving for minutes at a time otherwise. :|

Sadly it never cleared up for myself. I couldn't play at all yesterday night for every 10-15min for 4hrs straight i would get 90k D/Cs. I got up this morning, had about 30min of play and now for the last 45min i have been trying to defeat the last boss of the lv71 dungeon with the Trust system and can't even stay online for more then 3-5min before I get extreme lag.. booted.. come back dead and rinse/repeat. It is getting to the point of ridiculousness =(

I just woke up, tried to log in, saw a large queue. It disconnected me, then I tried again it disconnected, tried again, got in game, it disconnected me. I have had to relaunch the game multiple times because of it disconnecting. Extremely annoying. :mad:

Can attest to this. Was doing roulettes with a friend. It was fine for most of them, until we got into normal raids. 4-5 people d/cing at the same time. They came back only to get kicked again. Idk why this keeps happening, but it's incredibly frustrating.

Yup, on last boss and all 4 of us getting dc'd repeatedly, errors, kicked out of queues...

I managed to reconnect.... alone in the boss room and got smacked in the face :P

Be nice if SE would, at least, acknowledge this issue.

Just came on the forums to see if there was a post about this, the lag is worse than I've ever seen it. I understand this is a new expansion and there's a lot of stress on the servers but damn this is near unplayable for me.

Can confirm. It feels like I'm a chess piece more than a walking character.

Just been in a rid run and half the alliance dc'd. Miraculously, we didn't wipe, but it was a close thing at times. I didn't dc myself, but did get quite a bit of lag.

Just logged on at 0745 CST got DC'ed twice and inputs were being dropped. No crafting for me this morning.

Hopefully it ACTUALLY gets fixed this time, because their "recovery" from data center techincal difficulties message from yesterday morning obviously wasn't correct as the issues persisted throughout the rest of the day and into today now...

Sounds like it's a node between East Coast area and wherever the DC is (I'm on Diabolos and having the same issues). Many folks I've spoken with are on East Coast or in New England, which is where I am, and I basically can't do anything in game until this is resolved. Except AFK dance in Limsa, maybe. Gil tips welcome. xD
