Same here, surprisingly not even their height spoils it for me so far. I normally don't like tall characters, but with Viera it doesn't really bother me.

I cannot tell if they are serious or just being a troll (or joke maybe)? Is this for real? If so they run like an athelete as they are supposed to be a warrior race like amazons. They run fine. Have a viera alt and she feels pretty fem to me.

OP just wants a third moe waifu race. Their history is pretty much filled with silly requests like this one.

Kitty is like the most tom-boyish race there is, even with their running and their sprint. If you want feminine--play an elf or a midlander.

I think OP is playing the wrong race all along
Both Viera and even Miqo’te are not mean to be cute
Even Miqo’te suppose to be some superior hunter
If OP think Viera running animation is not cute enough I don’t know how she take Miqo’te, our running animation are hardly cute compare to Au Ra

I definitely don't want to see the run changed, Viera are supposed to be fierce warrors and running like an athlete fits. If you want cute and dainty, I'd recommend an Au-ra female, they can be made to look very frail and delicate if that's your thing.

Just because you don't find it cute doesn't mean no one else can.

Stay a cat if you want a delicate female model with dainty animations instead of trying to change an amazonian fantasy race to fit your preferences. Many of us prefer athletic women. If you don't, there are plenty of races to choose from.

This has to be a troll right. Or do people really get offended by women not being dainty, pre-pubescent, and incapable enough for them? I thought maybe this would be a similar complaint to the male Au Ra, about how their animation seems faster than the actual jogging speed so it looks like they're on a treadmill, but no. Just someone who doesn't find the Viera satisfying enough for them to fantasize about.

True that, I tried to play a male Au Ra alt for a bit, and their run animation is just so... Bouncy, and not in a good way.

People have been complaining about the Elezen running animation for years and it's never been changed, they're not gonna touch the Viera one either, haha.

The Viera's running animation is a lot more feminine than the Fem Roes and Highlanders. It's fine as it is.

Weird. Female Miqote run animations are a bit tom boyish to me, so it confuses me why you would play as one if you’re so concerned with animations. If you want a dumb blonde/ditz run animation, I think you should be a hyur midlander female like me. :)

I quite like it. Hell we put our butts out as we run. and 99% of our Emotes are super feminine and precious.

My big issue with a lot of the running animations in this game is that they are so stiff, like the character is suspended in air and just moving their arms and legs as little as they can. I'm thankful that Viera have weight to their run, and I wouldn't expect secluded forest warriors to have a dainty run regardless lol.

...A feminine run? They ARE a warrior race. Independent, physically and even mentally strong women and you want them to run "femininely?" What does that even entail? This animation is just fine. We dont need another feminine waifu race. Tbh they have more muscles than some male characters.

I guess it depends on the player's opinion and to me Viera's (normal) run is not "dainty" as you'd say and I would love it if the dev team changed that to a "cute" animation I liked so that my experience playing that race would be enjoyable.

From a third point of view Viera's run might look normal but from the character's point of view (in my opinion) is not delicate at all.

The dev team doesn't necessarily have to waste resources to change the running animation of one race and in doing so they could create a new system to allow players to choose the one (running animation) they want to use, I don't see why a race must be limited to certain animations only, it only makes characters lack personality.

I've tried other races before but their run is not acceptable to me, Hyur Highlander, Elezen and Au Ra females all have ugly normal running animations and now Viera joins them!...


The easy solution to fix more than one race's issues is to give them at least a second running animation, player chooses the one they want to use and everyone's happy!...

Everyone else is pretty happy with it. This is a pointless request. It doesn't make them lack character because the running animation isn't what you like. It separates them from the other races and makes them more unique. I'm sorry, but this is just a selfish request that would waste resources.

If you don't like it then don't be that race. That's all I'm going to say about it.

It would be nice to have options to change running animations, I'm not gonna lie. But the way you tried to make a point didn't help your cause. Like I said just because a woman is not feminine by your standards it doesn't mean she's not feminine at all. The way you worded your requests make it sound like only your idea of what femininity should be is acceptable and anything that doesn't fit that description is ugly. Just like in real life women comes in alll shapes, forms and personality. You said Viera lack personality for running "not delicate", but if you're trying to standardize all women to run like a cat girl, that personality you're talking about will be even less diverse.

Would be nice to have an option to select your run just like we can with /cpose, and I support that for more customization options, but please don't diminish a group of women to elevate another. There's nothing wrong with athletes, amazons, tomboys or strong individuals of the feminine sex.

Miqo'te don't run properly anyway, your arms are not supposed to cross your chest while running, which is exactly what miqote do with their sprint animation.
Viera cross a little bit (so they technically don't have an athletes running animation) but it's not nearly as bad as Miqo'te.
As someone who has played years of Miqo'te and Au Ra, saying that Miqo'te has a nicer run animation than Au Ra makes me think you are trolling, Au Ra run much more nicely :V They walk better too.

Miqo'te sprint has there arms going toward the center but not crossing.

And for OP, keep that girly run stuff out of XIV, we already have enough with female midlander, that type of running is unrealistic to begin with.
From what I've observed, Viera run fine, no need to waste development time changing it. Like Miqo'te it looks like a brisk jog.

Viera’s jogging animation admittedly caught my attention when briefly testing a future character. While it’s not my favourite, I do appreciate that it was both different and not overly delicate. Viera have already been a bit of a disappointment to me by being another somewhat “cutesy” race but at least the emotes and running animations didn’t exaggerate it too much. I consider it along a similar vein to how I like the really stiff auri animations. I feel like it gives a sense of unseen difference in anatomy and helps differentiate the races a little more. I enjoy cute races and characters but the game already has plenty of that. Balance is good.

Also I don’t really know how miqo’te can be considered to have a “feminine” run. It looks normal to me.

I like it.

Not everything has to be dainty, and not everyone likes dainty.

We don't want to be feminine we are good as we are now, I switched to Viera because they are more like the wild adult women all proud and mighty, not being all cute and cuddly. Plus when you main a Viera complain, as long as you alt, no one cares.
