My main is going from cat-girl (since 1.0!) to viera, and I have an alt that's an elezen going to viera (also retainer going to hrothgar, but no pics I'm afraid). Technically my main's name and appearance is going to live on as an alt

My character is parked in the inn, naked, with fantasia consumed. Ready to change at first 5.0 login (Early Access).

I hope they post the updated job guide tomorrow so I can at least sort out my new keypad layout and bindings.. So many changes for NIN..

same. i think some people are excited but most just wanna hope on the "look at me im different but not really" train. same as the people who rush to "end game" xpac launch day spam skills and afk as a statue and watch people flock to em like birds

i think that this is the only lion guy i like. probably because you made him look cool and not like a bag of skittles that got stuck in the washer

Here's hoping for a good expansion for you and your new Hrothgar! It's always sad to let go but hey if things don't work out you can Fantasia back! :)

yeah that's what i was thinking, I was really excited when Hrothgar was announced but as the days where drawing closer, it felt like i was loosing a loved one (pretty dramatic eh!) so for the time being I took lots of photos of my "old" char and changed a retainer to his looks so it feels more like he retired from being an adventurer and slapped him on an expansion of duties scroll.

I know the feeling, I was so excited to be Viera, but after I ordered my fantasia last night I started to feel quite anxious and had to change my orchestrion to something less sad sounding lol. I'm still changing though, it just feels... odd.

Ive been a Roe since ARR beta so Im very attached to my character. However, I always liked starting fresh during every expansion. This is the first time that I'll go Fantasia into a different race, it's so nerve-wracking. This thread is so appreciated.

before you do the switch if you havent already, save your current model, either way if you love viera you could always use a retainer fantasia and change a retainer to your Super cute Lala and still glam that Smol Bean up, give her a little perky attitude and feel like she just took time away from the old Adventuring Lark. or at least remake her as an alt. (altough myself prefer the retired version). But GL with the next few days of being larger than a footstool. you've got alot more to get used to than me XD, but at least you'll be able to target things that're more than 3 foot high (tried lala on an alt once, i couldn't even open doors without walking about 10 paces awayto find the node..didn't last long XD.)

Actually to all of us who have never changed their main character, I wish you all the best of luck, and hope you feel you made the right decision.

I have saved her and I am going to change an alt into her. I am eternally bonded to my partners roegadyn, so we're going to be a good match I feel when I'm a viera. For the first time ever, I'm actually tempted to go max height on a character lol. I will create an alt first to see how it feels though before I decide that for sure.

I'm super nervous too about changing. I've been a Hume/Hyur since FFXI, and back then I was so used to Humans (coming from Ragnarok Online), I was used to them, so I just made a character that I understood back then - myself. So shes looked like me for a while now throughout 2 games. But! I always pic a more fantasy character in other mmos, so why not here? :) Like some have said, I don't think I found the right "fit" for me yet, so maybe this is it? It feels like a better option than any others I've looked at (for me personally). Hope it goes ok later today! (With glasses again too, but we can't see that yet obviously)

Right.. I have been a cat even back from my ff11 days.. But me and the hub changed our mains to Au'Ra early this year.. it felt weird at first and almost feels like you are playing the game brand new.
I might consider changing maybe later in the future or depends on how much the new race appeal to me.
I still miss my cat when i see someone in town running around that looked like her.

I can't even change my alt from miqo'te to viera, because I used up all my free fantasias, and wasted a couple ones I paid for on her. :(
