I don't know, I personally enjoyed them. Susano's giant sword slam was visually amazing. I still enjoy the Suzaku intermission, Byakko's was maybe too forgiving for the length of it but still fine.
I have all 7 mounts and the Kyubi and I don't think I really noticed the intermissions even after 50-99 kills. It was simply part of a 7-10 minute encounter. If you removed them, they would adjust accordingly and it would still be a 7-10 minute fight (which I'm not sure people realize). They won't simply snip it out and let you down Byakko in 4-5 mins.
Of course, that's just personal opinion and if it turns out the majority loathe them, it's fair if they change it. Perhaps it's just an unfortunate consequence of designing EX Primals purely to be mount lotteries that you repeat up to 100 times. It's natural some people eventually lose all interest in the aesthetics of the encounter after that much repetition .
They take too long in some situations.
Susano does not need two orb phases and sword slams, one would have been fine. I.E. one tank takes one set of orbs, the other tank blocks the sword and as soon as the sword dies the ultimate goes off a few seconds later (maybe 4-5).
Byakko's balloons/free fall phase takes way too long.
Seiryu's time to do his ult takes way too long.
They need to strike a better balance between time to shield/heal and time for the attacks to go off.
Also, can I add as an aside that I hate ult's like Seiryu/Lahkshmi which have unique animations that negate cooldowns like Passage of Arms? Like I literally can't use one of my cooldowns to help the healers in that part because of the stupid way the animations work. Yes I know the Vril negates Lahk's damage, but it's not the point, it's the principle.
I feel like it all started with Zurvan. Sure, his was short but it was the first cinematic ultimate.
Byakko's should be an easy one to fix. If you can fully kill the tiger before he pops you up, it should skip it.
they put more than the usual dev time and money into Byakko's for the explosion. gotta make the ppl sit thru it to get their ROI. maybe we should just have it where you hit the boss once and win then there's no transitions. /s
Even when I AM farming stuff on the EX Trials and stuff, I really enjoy them. I mean I like how they look and all. Im one of the two people who enjoyed Byakko's transition just because of the aesthetic of it. That is just me though. And as with most things it will be unfortunate for me when they decide to take beautiful stuff like that out because the majority despises them.
