Why Roe Love Hroth

Certainly not. This was merely an educational piece on the anticipation for the Hrothgar and why alot of Roe Male players are hyped for their arrival.

Ironically, I asked a male roe about this and he knew exactly what it was and said yeah that he was actually in to Bara, and heck yeah he was switching! Crazy stuff.

Kimahri was my favourite character from FFX. Ever since I started playing I've wanted to make a Ronso.I had to settle down on a Roe and loved it nonetheless ever since. Still, if you give me the chance Ill make him a Hrothgar. I only lament having picked up such a cool lore apropriate name for my Hellsguar that I fear won't fit with Hrothgar lore.

what the thread was supposed to be : Mroe and hroth designs share a niche subculture, thats why theres some playerbase overlap :)

If this is how we are gonna be percieved if we play hrothgars then I'm gonna strongly consider maybe staying lala, I really hope the erp junk doesn't bleed over to this awesome new race were getting.

That aside I can't wait to be a hrothgar, got my Fantasia ready to go.

Roes have largely been seen as part of that subculture from day 1, if you don't feel awkward around them then Hrothgars shouldn't be any different.

In the gaming industry, it's difficult to find bara content, Final Fantasy XIV being the only game at least in the MMO scene that offers healthy and diverse options for Bara Rp and fantasy. It's a genre that is completely overshadowed by heteronormative ideologies and yaoi content, as people believe men shouldn't be muscular or chubby, rather they must be feminine with fem like features...and straight.

Hrothgar to us in the genre is a breath of fresh air. It gets tiring and exhausting being around cat girls and lady elves all day. You go into any server, you see cats girls and lady humans. You may see 1 or 2 Male Roe, if you see more than that take pictures as it's an anomaly that will never happen again. Hopefully with the arrival of this race we will see a nice boom in beastmen roaming the lands of Eorzea.

So hopefully this has given you some insight as to why the Male Roes are so hyped for Hrothgar and perhaps educated yourself on the Bara genre.

I personally just dont find too much about them attractive, specially the fact that they're based on animals, but I can now understand why you like them.

Nope. I dont like furry men at all. Big men are nice, but if I had to choose I'd choose Au Ra or Midlander style men

The easiest answer is it caters to those who are into bara and furries. In Japanese it's a trope called Kemono, though that's not limited to just bara. But everyone has a type, so just roll with it I guess.

Au Ra and Midlander are just too thin for my taste. So it's nice to have another burly race to play. Not to mention I freaking love Ronso.

I appreciate OP's enthusiasm for the race but I wanna know where all these other elf ladies that are supposedly everywhere are? In all the servers I've played, we're just as rare as the male Roe population.

Yes without a doubt, Highlanders fall more into the athletic look while Roes are closer to the Strongman look. And I don't find the Highlander look attractive at all.

I'm probably not the norm when it comes to roegadyns, but I'm not a fan of burly characters. I chose to play as a femroe back in beta because I really liked Merlwyb, the kinda alien face that femroes have with the flat rectangular nose option and how seawolves can have paper-white skin (my inner goth surfacing, lol). I didn't wanna look like a preteen and didn't enjoy the animations or lore of other races. But because of the femroe T H I C Cness I have a lot of glamour problems as I tend to favour cute stuff like dresses that don't look so great with wide shoulders and massive muscles (imo).

If I wasn't so attached to my roe and especially her name, I'd probably fantasia to a viera as they're everything I want in a tall race. But even then I first have to see what their animations are like before I decide anything.

Highlanders are toned, yes, but they're still within what's an athletic look, not a bulky one. Roes are (were) the only bulky race option, even when they borderline a cartoony Hulk build. Also doesn't help 90% of Highlanders use the only good face (you know which)

Nah, they're bulky. Roegadyn just go to a ridiculous extreme.

Mm. I like the physique that Highlander men possess. Anything beyond that just looks unnatural and comical to me. I hope they get some better face options in the future along with authentic eyebrows. If they did, I suspect that they'd be a lot more popular.

You can take it a few notches higher than them while retaining an attractive look, but not much.
