I would award you a delicious baked potato, but I see you already got that covered.
I do see one flaw with the picture though... no matter how you look at it that popoto is still RAW.

Most of it isn't racism. Just jokes. I’m not really fond of those jokes, though. They’re getting old.
We need a new wave of more creative jokes. Ones we need to retire are the DRG, Lalafell, and _insert name here_ being a myth in Eureka. I would gladly take any and all bear puns over any of these.
Lalafell cooked with <Flare> is the only good way to cook them ;)
That username tho...

How about Croc dancer jokes..?...

Yes, no? Okey i'll see myself out. xD
It is even older that joke however might fit like a mirror to some, not just the target you intend.

Well that is kind of weird for you to think I might want to pet pixels, any pixels but... if that kind of idea makes you extremely self realized go for it.

As long as they're natural-born lalas and not the synthetic kind, I'm fine with lalas.
pixels don't have human rights
also XI Tarutaru memes, most Lala NPCs not being particularly likeable (especially if you start in Ul'dah) and a player base plagued with bad apples: from unfunny memsters over obnoxious "look at how cuuuute~ I am! (WAH WAH WAIIIIIII spam) to borderline pedos
You can't be racist to food.
And what if this was possible in real life? Would racism then being okay, since you can always change to the "correct" race?
Well, however, I agree that this isn't compareable to real world racism. But I think this is (compareable) to real world cyber mobbing.
Some jokes now and then are okay, but overall the community overdid it. There is a point when jokes are simply not funny anymore. And remember: There are real people behind the pixels whose feelings may get hurt.
The problem about racism is when people assume others are racists and understand an innocent question the wrong way only because they assume the other is racist and his question consequently. Same goes for humor.
Since about three or four years, people are taking many things too seriously and sadly lack of comprehension of what 2nd degree humor can be. A less controversial example is joke about blond girls.
I mean we also have in game fish even before this NA fanfest that love to eat lalafells or have the words "could eat a lalafell whole" as part of their description. Don't worry I'm sure they'll be spared the jokes for a bit once 5.0 comes out and we all start making jokes about the two new classes and races.
The exact quote is "it isnt comparable to irl racism. in real life you cant take a potion and suddenly be white or whatever." There was no implication of anything. It simply stated what we all know as true. But because they specifically said "white" when they could've said anything else or added something else to the sentence to pad itself away from people who easily take offense you assume they're implying something probably due to some inherent bias, dare I say actual racism? You take specific offense not from what the sentence is trying to tell you but rather the "white" race. To add onto that, there is no joke in that sentence.
Said it before I'll say it again. I love all the FF XIV races I think each one has a strong eye shown for care and detail all of thier emotes, stances, dances, are differently animated. But that's just the thing Pixels do not equate real things. Thusly by a logical deduction we can say Racisim does not exist for Lalafel. One has to be exist here in the real world third dimensional flesh and blood format in order for there to be the onus of " Victimised Racism" labeled upon them.
That said I don't feel as if we should say there doesnt seem to be alot of random Lala hate and dismissal towards them. A very cool set of Lalas were in one of my favorite FCs until it broke apart on Famfrit (I still play the char now and then hoping to run into them since they're all on my freinds list) Several Lalas are in my current mains FC and all have been a genuine ,kind and generous group of people to chill and game with.
I think at the end of the day we do forget that there are people at the other end of that characters monitor and they could be having a crap day just like we did. We're all here to relax and have fun Even if that Fun is different for everyone. (I like PuGs, and Practice EX runs personally To me those are my fun It feels really good that first clear and helping others acheive it makes it more enjoyable for me.) (A Freind of mine likes glam, another one is trying to talk me into the world of crafting.) So lets not try and ruin thier fun. And lets nots try and slam real world junk like Racism into a game world.
Lalafells are a bit of a running joke to some much like dragoons. There isn't any hatred behind it, much less racism. People just like to joke or meme hard.
In 99.9% of the time it’s just jokes, and lalas like it cuz it keeps us in the spotlight whether they realize it or not
And SE literally is giving us a hideout in Shb! *slaps someone’s knee backwards* Follow me now! /runs to dwarfland ;)
I’ve only met with a genuine lala hater once in a dungeon and poor thing licked the ground countless times till he kneeled before me and started doting xD
To all those who want to eat a lala potato

Because Lalafells are evil and deserve it.
It is all because of Teledji Adeledji
As most people have said here they're just jokes. It's all in fun and you shouldn't let it bother you, so much so the translators for XIV actively enjoy making fun of them too. Lala's probably have the most recognition in the lore of XIV between item descriptions, lore/world building, Ul'Dah as a whole, even the best scion in the entire game is a lala (Tataru~).
From an ingame perspective we got the best emotes between both genders, best glamours, the most fun mount riding poses (female lalas riding the Security Nodes look like they're ready to gossip over boys at a sleepover and I love it). Also if you break it down into roles tanking as a lala is the best tank experience as you're generally fighting something on average over 5x your size stretching into like something massive like Alexander Prime and Shinryu which are friggin massive.
I've had people go beyond the simple jokes into real racist/harassing remarks(over a virtual character) and at that point it's just a simple report/blacklist, then moving on with my day.
They are sentient beings /entities / pixels can not be eaten!

It was the same scenario in FFXI. We would often believe a Tarutaru had to be sacrificed for good drops on a run or NM. We actually had one who always volunteered for the job. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didnt.
I love my future salted french fries with a side of ketchup
Its the same tired jokes over and over again that I have to hear at least once a week because I exist in the area. Its really annoying but its not going to change.
It started off as a player joke, but then it was reinforced FATE and key item descriptions that mention how Lalas are basically prey to nearly any kind of beast/monster.
Yea but you shouldn't have to use a fantasia to stop people from giving you a hard time just because of your chosen race. I don't know if anyone has done that, but your statement could be suggesting that the way to deal with abuse over your character's race, is to give in to the pressure and change race. Ideally said abuse shouldn't exist at that degree at all.
I see a lot of lalafell hate though usually nothing extreme. I know of two people who got kicked from dungeons just because they were lalas, but my impression is this sort of thing is super rare.
Racism against lalas? There is no racism against lalas because they aren't a race, they are characters in a videogame.
People reaaaaaaaally need to stop to drag their real life problems into this game...holy moly.
