SE can't not call their bluff. Unless Yoshi pulls off some timey whimey crap there will not be M veira or F hrothgar for the forseeable future

C.
If they are added I would not complain, if they are not I would not complain, simple as that.
B tilting towards A (already cancelled my automatic renewal), not solely for M!Viera, more a series of decisions I do not agree with, and real life stuff, it remains to be seen. A statement on how they're considering the missing genders would go a long way, and Dancer is tempting, depending on how it plays.
Yes, it's here, it's pretty complete with a lot of options to gauge a general sentiment.
W) I'm more concerned about gameplay and quality of activities designed and currently more interested in seeing additional options for existing races' customization and if MViera/FHrothgar would take those options away, I'd rather not have them; but ultimately accept that the devs are probably so exhausted with the Viera thorn in their side that they'll cave-in for 6.0.
Pretty much on this train. As cool as I think the new races are, I would like to imagine adding new options to existing races would have had more of a positive reaction and would have been likely easier to implement than entirely new races(making all gear fit over new models over adding new options to existing portions of existing models)
C pretty solid.
Uhm, B. I hope they will add them when they will have time for it. And I wait expansion anyway, because I waited for Gunblade for 5 years and also hyped about new MSQ.
And, akhem, amount of options in questions if far from making it any realistic. Also, poll on Forum (which is a minority itself) will never be realistic in the first place, because we do not even know amount of active users here. The only way to have more or less accurate info is creating pop-up poll when you log in the game once per service account. And if SE will want to do it - they will.
E
Remove both races
Useless lost of resources and it seems that the majority is upset about non existent gender lock, why even bother then?
You will be at least sure that no-one gets it
This poll is not realistic because as usual it ignores the resource restrictions the devs had. They had time for 2 models, not 4 models like options A and B assume.
A realistic poll would be asking people which race shouldn't have been developed at all in order to give the fans of one race both gender options and the fans of the other race no options. Either we were going to get (1) Viera, (2) Hrothgar or (3) One gender of both. There was never a possibility to have it all.
C, although part D because i'd much rather they put that much limited dev time into more important things
E) I don't care.
It is as a C) but with different reason. Then, being male Viera extremely rare to see, have no sense unlocked it as playable and see them everywhere. I'd better see one npc somewhere in a cutscene or two.
Hrothgar, I'm not into that race so will not care much both genders.
I dunno about "no sense"... We have non-padjal white mages everywhere, Red Mages everywhere, summoners everywhere, scholars everywhere, warriors everywhere, dark knights everwhere, Au Ra off the step, Male Miqote in huge numbers, fem-highlanders outside ala mhigo... All these things are or were established as exceedingly rare at one time or another.
That poll is public so people who don't play can fill it out. And the majority of questions seem tilted toward getting pro male Viera and female Hrothgar results. Someone who doesn't even play sees a poll that has "gender locking" mentioned over and over again, they're going to think that sounds bad, of course I'm against it.
Why would they send small frail men into the jungle alone to protect it? That doesn't make sense.
As for the OP my answer is D. I understand people really wanted them but I like that they are respecting the lore and would really prefer that they not take anymore resources make the other halves especially since they couldn't get helmets to work right with them.
B: In that I hope my negative feelin about this is wrong and the other halves become play-able in 6.0
C and D

E. Would rather see resources spent frying bigger fish.
I don't oppose male Viera or female Rothgar. In fact, I would love to see how they are designed for FFXIV. Especially the latter. But until I see things like how are they going to address the issues we have with some of our jobs, BLU, content/encounters design, getting headgear on the new races, QoL adjustments and so forth; I don't want to see either of them.
Truthfully, a little bit of C and D.
I don't care about the race and genders, but as it were, Au Ra were said to be the last race. This is literally giving in to fan requests and them trying to appease both those that wanted Viera and those that wanted more beastly races, but have only so much time to work with. They should have just kept Au Ra as the last race.
A mix of A. And B. I've unsubbed after the news. Only resub for the ffxv event. and then unsub after I was done. I will play the game most likely in the future. But I am taking a long break and still havn't pre ordered. I'm hoping SE addresses this soon.
C, somewhat D.
I would fantasia to a female Hrothgar if they were to be added but I am 110% content with fantasia-ing to male Hrothgar instead.
If male Viera were to be added, I'd prefer them to be tall, muscular, and defined (similar to male Au Ra) due to their role as fierce protectors and wardens of the forest, if they were smaller than the females that'd make no sense.
However, I'd want these to be developed after 5.5x, as wasting resources on them could lead to a somewhat similar situation to Warlords of Draenor with WoW where additional content got the axe in favour of the highly player-requested Garrison system. Expansion content comes first and foremost, races are nice but at the end of the day they're just aesthetics.
