YAY! I can't wait for more story! : D
More excited about Fan Fest than the patch... but still looking forward to finishing the MSQ. Fan fest will finally confirm Dancer healer and hopefully give us a few more details about Gunbreaker (though I know the full mechanics reveal won't be until May).
I expect that after defeating Zenos, we'll go unconscious like the other Scions and end up meeting the mysterious voice who will tell us how we can stop the coming Light calamity.
Explicitly mentioning other players/adventurers is rare in the dialogue, although it does happen, however they are mentioned all the time in the journal. Including the entries for Ala Mhigo and Shinryu.
Still need that 1v1 fight ;)

Very impatient for the story bit, I'm very curious about how it will go go south from were we are and hope they surprise me and don't just go the cliché road.
For the rest of the patch... I couldn't care less and the patch already feel empty.
I've been paying attention to references. It's really more common than people remember, I think.
Recent ones from my alt in early Stormblood:

Could keep working back, but you get the idea. I certainly remember getting references to parties as far back as Snowcloak, though I don't think it happens every time.Quote:

As we have two objectives, I suggest we divide our forces. [...] Take a band of your most trusted companions and cut a path through to the Griffin.
I'm expecting the final "Big Six" legendary fish to be added and I can't wait to see how crazy they are. It would be very unusual and a very bad precedent for fishing in general if we didn't get those fish for SB since we got them for ARR and HW, and SB big fishing would feel horribly incomplete without them. I don't expect any fancy quest or title or such like we had in ARR, but just give us the fish!
Ah, well if you've yet to do Rabanastre then I highly recommend you run that ASAP. You can slightly boost some gear with i330 pieces that can drop in there, and you'll need to clear that first before you can move on to the Lighthouse. Fortunately, the ilvl requirements for Rab have gone down since release, and with current gear levels the place is much easier to deal with than it was about a year ago. Deltascape should be pretty simple as well, though you may want to use the party finder to find groups for it more easily. Add in the description that you're a first timer with a bonus, and that should get some people's attention. Clearing Deltascape lets you unlock Sigmascape, and Sigmascape into Alphascape. I should also mention that the normal Sigmascape raids drop trade parts for i350 gear, which can also help tide you over until you can get your Mendacity/Lighthouse gear. Good luck!
Excited for Fanfest news for sure. As for the game itself...it's just msq soooo...nyeh?
I still prefer the first bit of msq end when it comes to Zenos it seemed fitting.
I'm hoping the flying carpet mount is from the allied beast tribe quests, that was datamined back in 4.5. Would make sense and would be a nice reward too, can't get much worse than the dance in HW.
Yeah, what I meant to say is that out of those you listed, the msq is the only thing that moderately excites me. And before some lore/story purists come and bite my head off about it and tell ne I should go play another game, only that part of the shb msq storyline doesn't seem to hype me at all.
Dont care for it. Waiting for 4.57 for visitation and then nothing really.
Probably 10-minutes or so long CS, some solo instances (perhaps another RP one?), hopefully some new characters introduction....
Aside from MSQ, I don't have much to do on patch day since I haven't caught up to the latest Hildibrand and BT quests.
I'm purposely avoiding everything until fanfest. All I need is that dancer confirmation in my life and the rest is just extra icing on the cake for me.
best part is gonna be figuring out what the main boss from Shadowbringers is gonna be if the ending of Stormblood is going to be like the ending of Heavensward.
No, unfortunately. No doubt it will be passable, perhaps even good, but I doubt it'll have the same kind of pull the second half of the 2.5 story patch had for me.
Well I'm quite hyped by MSQ. Although I don't really care for the Scions nor the big baddies, the path to 5.0 is still uncertain and I like how it was delayed (although maybe 4.4 and 4.5 part 1 had some long parts). I'm really curious about how it will unfold, and especially how the fight with Elidizenos with unravel. (Plus the return of Elezenos? that was forgotten since 4.3).
i am both excited and wishing it could be delayed a week, i got a massive hand in for my masters on thursday the 28th XD so i will have to try to sneak in the new content when i can.
I probably won't see it, since I've just unsubbed due to being unable to complete The Will of the Moon MSQ.. I always die in the meteor phase before my target is down to 30%. Tried it at least 10 times, and I'm completely done with the game.
Everyone else has done it.
I don't mean that in a bad way (people have struggled too), but more that the solo Duty is definitely doable, which means you're likely missing something important, such as standing in the shield as mentioned above. You could probably get some detailed advice on the forums here, people are often happy to help. There's no shame in asking advice, it's how you learn. Good luck :)
For the meteor phase during the first fight? I don't recall Hien being involved in that portion at all. When she starts casting the meteors, you pretty much have to ignore all adds and focus damage entirely on her while keeping yourself alive. If you're still having trouble with the DPS check, perhaps updating the gear will help. I imagine you probably get an Echo boost if you can't beat it the first few tries, which should make it easier. Keep trying! It's definitely a doable fight, if a bit trickier than a lot of instances.
Edit: Actually, I mixed things up, for the last phase you actually DO kill the adds first, and that weakens her a lot. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
My bad, I never had problem with that part of the fight as WHM and it was while I was off to the side fighting that I failed the duty. You are right, it may be ilvl if I could pass that phase first try as a healer. Echo boost helped clear it quicker for me to reach the last phase.
For what I want... Lillies to have an actual use in ShB and Secret of the Lily II to be more than a 25% chance on top of getting a crit for a GCD heal.
Finally got the first part done. Last try, I was doing a lot more damage and taking a lot less. Turns out the game gave me an "echo" buff to compensate for my many failures. Good thing I guess, since I'd be gone otherwise.
But of course, now I fail on the second part, fighting as Y'shtola. (Hein died, Didn't know I had to heal him) Now, unfortunately, I have to start over at the very beginning. This ls like having everything in a dungeon respawn after a wipe on the final boss :(
Not after tonight's keynote... no
