so many ricer keyboards, yuck
To be honest, I use that with every MMO besides FFXIV. I will be using it with FFXIV when they design the new PC UI though. I have come to rely on my n52te so much since I got it. I really, really love it. You may be considering the Logitech g13, I know I did... But I decided not to get it because for my hands, it is really large and the n52te is just perfect. It didn't even take that long to get used to it. xD (And yeah I use this with K-TERA and it is awesome!)
Yeah, I just made a simple macro that basically hit 1 twice whenever I pressed the 1 key once. I didn't have any trouble at all creating the macro, and the number pad 1 and the 1 at the top of the keyboard did not get remapped.
I just thought of something though, do you have your macros set up in such a way that they are only active when FFXIV runs? Or do you have it set up to use macros all the time? The reason I ask is that using the first option, you need to make sure you've selected ffxivgame.exe rather than one of the other .exe files.

the keyboard is probably the worst thing I have bought for my PC, the mouse and gamepad are great though
Are any of you folks with macro-able keyboards having trouble with targeting mobs? If so, I've been using a pretty awesome solution for a while now. Check it out:
1. create a one line macro within FFXIV using the following text: /targetnpc
2. put that macro on the last space on every row of your ctrl (or alt) macros
3. on your keyboard, make a macro that presses ctrl+0 (or alt+0)
4. face your target, press your chosen key. The closest npc that you are facing will be targeted every time.
one of the hinges on the default keyset broke on mine after just a few days. They would be fantastic if it were brushed aluminum or something sexy like that, but just like everything else these days, it's cheap plastic crap.
In contrast, the Steel Series Merc is heavy as hell for a keyboard and feels like it's built very well.
I use the wireless microsoft keyboard that came with my PC. Don't actually use the mouse just purely keyboard like how I played FFXI.
I'll...I'll see myself out ._.

Logitech MX518. Had this mouse for years and I love it.

If I use a controller, I usually use a wired 360 pad. The cable is frayed and being kept in a working position by electrical and duct tape, so I'll probably be going back to the Logitech wireless rumblepad 2 that I used back in XI.
