I mean, I understand and thought the same at first, but... are Miqo'te and Ronso actually that similar? Some Miqo'te ears barely even look like actual cat ears. Ronsos are blue, furry and their heads are the same as lions (instead of being a Hyur with cat ears or even a mix between human and feline like the Rev), not to mention they have a horn. So I'd say they're pretty different (but lore wise, I think it could be nice if they said that Ronso and Miqo'te were distant relatives or that Miqo'te came from the cross between Hyur and Ronso long ago or something). I'd say the Au Ra and Miqo'te look much more alike than Miqo'te and Ronso.Quote:

I still have the little hope that they will surprise us with a new race at one fanfest (thus their "probably last race" was more like a joke.) since that one person hinted at two new races, one having something to do with lions which would fit with the Ronso.
Honestly I am happy for those that wanted Viera but I still feel that it will just be another race that is human with animal parts and seeing some pictures of Fran, she looks even more human than for example an Au Ra. She is tall, sexy, has a small tail, strange feet and bunny ears but nothing more that makes them look much different. Auri had at least their scales to make them a bit different.
So yes a Ronso race would be nice. -

While Ronso are definitely more bestial, i do not think they are far enough removed from Miqo 'te. However, should player demand be great enough, they should be introduced. I would hope to see them introduced as a sub race of the Miqo 'te much like the Hyu Midlander and Highlander receptively. Different lore, animations, culture, but connected to each other through their genetic make up. I feel this would not only give players more options but also set a better precedent for more sub races among the current selections in the future.
However... I do feel that if they are introduced they will be a bastardised version of what we got in FFX.
