Where did you hear about Final Fantasy from?

My first Final Fantasy was Final Fantasy Mystic Quest followed by Final Fantasy II for the NES

I don't even remember. It was such a long time ago and I was really young. I think I started with the FF with Cecil in it and I was like "huh this is a fun game" I never really payed much attention to the franchise again until the ff7 craze came out which I never played. Then Crystal Chronicles came out and again I was like "huh this is a fun game, and its music is great!"

But everything changed with FFXII attacked. I loved that game. It was the first final fantasy game I really got into. That and I was a teenager and Fran was my first ever Waifu. I played that game into the ground.

However what got me into ffxiv was actually some fan art. It was on Tumblr back in the day so the original is probably long gone but it roused my curiosity and now here I am

Growing up gaming on the PC, my first exposure was a demo of 8 way back when. The PC demo with Squall and Quistis in the Training Area.


First full game I played was 7, but over the years I've played all of the numbered games, with the exception 11 (well, technically I have played it, but getting to around level 30 and not really doing anything barely counts).

Mostly like the games for gameplay and story, some are good on both, but at least usually one of the two is good.

A friend of mine brought his Playstation over and showed me the last hour of FFVII. In retrospect, this was a terrible way to introduce someone to such a story heavy game! But I had no context for what I was seeing and was totally taken in by the spectacle of it. So when he let me borrow his Playstation for a week, I played FF7 non-stop, and got it for PC right after that. I've been playing FFs ever since then.

Heard about FF through my older brother.

A few years ago, a friend had given me a month of free game time. I only played for a few days because I was too young to sub and thought my efforts would be wasted. However, I was always jealous of him. As it happened, I managed to get a sub later, and began playing the game with my boyfriend. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made!

When I was a kid, my cousin got me a copy of FF8. I played it a little bit but never finished it. I also played Tactics Advanced a lot as a kid.

Since then, I've played 1-5, and 14. And the Tactics game for the DS, and Mobius Final Fantasy. I played but never finished several more: 7, 8, 10, and 10-2.

Heard FFXIV from 9gagger when asking for a good MMORPG. Never played any FF before (stuffed-duck education + poor childhood = almost zero gaming)
First FF thing I saw was the anime from Japan, each I heard has nothing similar to the game.
