The 1.0 physics probably still exist in the code, they've just been turned off. I miss the 1.0 movement physics but that was back in a time where there weren't movement-dependent boss mechanics. In 1.0 when your character ran and then you stopped running, they would slow to a trot before coming to a complete stop. That wouldn't fly in current FFXIV where we have to be precise as a surgeon when it comes to positioning for mechanics. Moreover, 1.0 FFXIV you couldn't turn on a dime, your character tilted when you turned like Red Dead/GTA. Now post ARR, you spin instantly depending on the direction.
