You are correct, but Balmung is the cause of this problem. And the Devs have nothing to apologise for. They know the backlash from this, and it was a difficult decision, and the appropriate compensation has been given. But ultimately the Devs should not apologise for implementing a change that will improve the health of servers and provide a better experience for players. This change is hugely positive, and the threads from people saying "change it back" are completely ignorant to why this change is happening in the first place.Quote:

Because if you lose your furniture, 3.5M don't seem like nearly enough for most households and there are also things you can't buy with gil like rewards, drops and things from the mogry-station bought with your real money..

I know when you move an estate (what they added with Shirogane), they temporarily expanded the storage function and your furniture got dumped in there, but that's moving within the same server, I do not believe that functionality extends to moving servers.Quote:

That was my entire point. Blizzard kept upgrading their servers. Hell they even sold one of them to the highest bidder. Right now 14 is about where WoW was mid to end of Lich King xpac. This isn't counting 14's 1.0 phase. Lich King is when Blizzard starting making huge leaps in their server tech and quality. Live patches to the server and clients without having to take them down. Live activation of xpacs without having to take the servers offline as well.
I think SE should really invest in server updates even if it means bringing a few more people on board to help out. Having as little down time and being able to live patch servers and clients means very happy players. If the player base is growing like they claim then this is an area they really need to focus on. People coming over from WoW feel like they are going back in time when it comes to these features... -

Once your estate is completely empty, you then go outside and remove the house from the plot of land, note that if you have a house wall glamour, to keep it you first need to swap it with another, i would swap it with a cheap merchant wall from the MB, this way it will be placed in your inventory after the swap.
You then will be ready to world shift, you must keep the plot itself, don't relinquish it. (Also, don't remove the house until they actually active the refund, which isn't currently on, you will just get an error saying you can't move because you own a plot of land)
Once you move worlds, when you login to the new world, you automatically get +3,000,000 Gil added to your total, and you also get 100% of the Gil you used to purchase your old plot as well.
