The Black shroud music and Coerthas are the business. Seth Mcfarlen (Family Guy) was giving an interview on Leno the other night, and he was talking about how his show and the Simpons are the only 2 shows on television that still use a full orchestra. That made me sad, but it also made me realize that one of the reasons I loved FFXI and now XIV is because of the music. WHat they do is pure magic, and you can tell a lof of time and effort goes into making the soundtracks to these games. I can't speak officially for XIV, but i know XI had a full orchestra , and it does sound to me like this new one does too. Its top notch and one of the few things the original version of this game did right.
Tsuyoshi Sekito (Last Remnant)
I adore his songs. :3
Nobuo is today's Bach. I still don't understand why he is going towards metal and chaos. Is the majority of players Texas chainsaw listeners instead of harmony and melodies.
Aha ok. I'm quite new in mmo gaming. In fact, when thinking, also old masters wrote sometimes "deep feeling" music.
I personally thought Nobuo Uematsu's work for the game was fantastic, especially given the fact that according to the collector's edition DVD, he was only given general ideas (I don't remember the concept art part, tbh) to go on.
The main issue is that several of the themes are WAAYYYYYY overused, while others aren't used at all. As others here have mentioned, the music would be more enjoyable if there were more variety to it.
