Maybe SE should look into making the game more handicap compliant. I know I'm sure have harder time with newer msq with one of my hand being bad. This reason I will never touch most raids or any savage and ultimate content. They need to make normal content a lot easier for those that is disabled.

In my experience all I can ask for is for people to be willing to try and to learn. Which you're doing, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same. There are people in this game that will berate people for making the simplest of mistakes. I was struggling on Alpha 3 because I couldn't visually process him spinning around to re-orient in time for larboard/starboard fast enough. So people were already angry at me for that. Then our OT died and I got Mustard Bomb at the last second and couldn't run it out in time so we wiped and got berated for that. As a result I'm never stepping into that stupid raid wing again. And it's not so much the fight itself (though that is a large part of it) but that the attitude of the people in the run soured it for me.
People need to relax. We got the fight cleared within 2 pulls. Was it necessary to have all of that drama? -

It really sounds like it isn't your disability so much as it is your confidence that is setting you back. I can tell from your posts that you are humble and willing to learn. This will garner more patience and sympathy from your group than actually coming out and telling them you have a learning disability. Me personally, I cannot, or don't know how to differentiate bad play from disabilities when a player is failing mechanics so I just role with the punches. However, players (myself included) can tell when another player is trying opposed to being lazy and expecting to be carried.
In short, just go out there and do your best and have fun doing it. It's really tough to enjoy the game when we let things like anxiety and other people's view of us get in the way. -
09-30-2018, 04:29 AMSelovaI'm all for them giving options to players who struggle due to disabilities, but asking them to make all content outside of savage/ex easier isn't the solution. I mean, they've already added the echo to MSQ to help those that need it but if they need to take it farther then they just need to add a difficulty below normal for solo duties only. Asking them to dumb down the easiest content in the game because a small minority that suffer from physical ailments can't complete it, is not the way to go. More options is always the better route, not nerfing of already existing content.Quote:

@Dirven I know it is quite late response but I wanted to throw my 2 cents x) I started playing this game when I was suffering depression and quite crippling social anxiety. The game ironically helped me overcome that. I could write long essay but well basically it forced me to face my fears, fight them and fight through them. And taught me that it is not always me, it is also people. We are all special snowflakes. Some people will just be special but then for every 'special' person there is going to be super nice one.
The negativity the in game community brings at times is unreasonable. And I do find it funny that some people expect everyone to be able to learn fight in one run. How fast we learn depend on the day, mood, everyone's attitude and some kind of previous experiences and we are all different. For someone Ridoranna may be super easy while other person will find it almost impossible. As long as we agree that everyone has different learning speed and it is fine, there should be no issues. Problems arise if people make assumptions. It is never one person is 100% right anyways!
@Transient_Shadow Player OMG XD DW Computation Mode still gets me confused at times especially since this boss has a lot of things going on at times. My friends also have funny moments at this xD But hey I never were as good in counting to 8 as now xD jk jk. (Dispose still kills me sometimes when I dont pay attention :x)
@hynaku Dunno how to quote in one post so this is gonna have to do. I am sorry that MSQ causes issues (because of your bad hand). Someone on the forum mentioned that the rotations and hotbars (dunno how to express myself, sorry) can be challenging with people with limited movement of hand. I think Squex should do something about it.
But if it is about mechanics... well, game is designed for people who has been less unfortunate than you and it is a majority, most of them complain that it is 'too easy' to pass to some extent. So in that way whatever game devs would do, they would do it bad. Maybe I understand it wrong though. On the side note I would not call raids/savages/anything+ ---> normal. Majority of playerbase doesn't do savages or anything higher and quite a few of them avoids raids whatsoever. That is a hard content (supposedly extreme/savage) and it is not supposed to be anything but what it is. -

I am overjoyed that FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY disability awareness in ffxiv is being made., Praise God for the discussion I've seen out of this post alone. i'm really glad my dear friend over on leviathan pointed this out, because I have a lot to say on the subject, and to average readers or elites in the house who even THINK this reply it's gonna be cancer, aids, or that whining person who doesn't even want to learn 08s, don't even read further, uninstall, and play pong. but from what I've read in previous posts i saw quite a few in that category who FINALLY took a bit more than just acknowledgement to recognize players like uswho struggle and very much want to learn in the ways we learn which I'll tell ya RIGHT now is extremely different from a normal learner
If I had more character space I would indeed distinguish disabled players between bad players. but the fact is so many of these so-called bad players really aren't bad, Just because it may look that way. doesn't mean it necessarily is.
I want to extrapolate this because I've heard this sentence hundreds of hundreds of times. I've often heard many players quote " that's not an excuse" as if the player is making it one, it's a very wrong conclusion on the part of anybody that would outright assume that's the case. I'm not saying all players assumed bad are all good. but I would argue half is, They get shunned and stomped on simply because they have a disability they are using as an excuse to not do better. What a lot of people don't understand is it has nothing at all to do with if they can do better or not, one mechanic for some you can't expect them to get it in one sentence, it may take more than a minute for some folks to get some mechanics. and it shouldn't be that big of a deal if while they still trying to learn one mechanic or the other that the party they are in is willing and actually ok giving them a carry under those circumstances. It's perfectly normal nowadays to have a disability of ANY kind in this game, and I will even as a disabled person myself offer exactly as I suggested, I will break down the fights I've learned, it won't just do this, it's going to be how it's done, why? because as I said before a lot of us, I would surely vouch that 50% of players in this game need mechanics explained way more than " open up a pudding pop and eat it"
To wrap this all up,I dont feel its right we get treated poorly, We deserve as disabled players to work together, have unconditional patience and love for ANY player who should acknowledge and legitimately so acknowledge that they learn differently, the case should be closed right then and there, and get to work no matter how long it takes to get good at a fight. -
