Shor Khai was a lovely dungeon, I think my favourite is Snowcloak as I just find it so relaxing. I do really like it when we get a well integrated dungeon in the story and I've been missing them in Stormblood

I would be happy to see more 4 player contents of course! But this Rath ex is poorly and tremendously designed.. it’s a dodge dodge dodge fight with no specific mechanics, I find it boring and stressing at the same time and not fun at all!!
It doesn’t require and specific competence with your class but just ability to dodge the dragon attack, for healers I find it horrendous and mentally exhausting, you just esuna over and over over again. If the healer got hit or died you can basically wipe, I think soon nobody will plays as a healer anymore and party will be made of all tanks just because is easier.
They should make more 4 players contents but the kind of you are required to play your class at the best of your capabilities, for serious players, strategies to learn, high DPS checks so not cheesable mechanics, no alternative compositions.
Consider Rath Ex worst contents after Eureka.
Mentally exhausting to hit 1 or 2 buttons and dodge mechanics? Are you being serious here? Healers have it easy.
No they don't. The burden on playing well is far higher on the healer. You can cover for other people's mistakes but no one can cover for yours even half as much. If the healer gets stunlocked in an aoe with debuffs they're probably dead. If someone else does at the very least the healer can cleanse them if not heal them as well.
Yes I am aware some classes can off-heal and have a cleanse role action but it really cannot compare to how well and often a healer can tackle these things.
The best part is you don't have to memorize an entire cookbook of mechanics beforehand just to pick up and do the trial.
I'm a dumb casual but it's the #1 reason I avoid doing savage and most EX content.
I would like more content like Rahtalos Ex, it something different from the current 4 man content which is mind numbing wall to wall pulls with easy Boss mechanics.
How do you unlock RAthalos Extreme? I did the regular version but there's NO extreme version in my duty finder.
More 4 man Ex with no MH gimicks? Sure, I'd be up for that.
More Rathalos? lol no. I did it 50 times as a melee dps and it was a pain. Tanks and ranged dps have it easy. It's no wonder every other pf was just 3tank and 1 healer cheese, lol
The real tricky bit is doing this fight as a caster. If you start casting something at the wrong moment, those rushes he does can be brutal. And the way the hitboxes work in this fight, could technically be out of the way in time, but not according to the game code... You basically have to either always move to stay behind him or at least around his sides, or start moving immediately the instant he directs his attention to you. Any later, and your probably toast.
I'm fine with this. It would allow me and a few friends to do tough content together without having to put some of our trust on people we don't know when the rest of our group can't make it for X reason.
I won't be fine with it if the fights are like Rathalos EX though. Specifically on how Rathalos isn't really much of an interesting fight (he's basically a dungeon boss that dishes out enormous damage to those who get hit). First phase is mildly interesting, since he has roughly 4 attacks (maybe 5?), but the final phase he only has 3 and one of them is unavoidable group damage :/
Edit: did it again today. Still hate Rathalos EX (got the clear, but it's just not a good fight).
Its a challenge for melee with 200+ ping thats for sure... but its just great having content like this with 4 players.
At first I think it was a little frustrating because we were playing XIV with another games rules, but once you get used to it (like everything in life) its very doable.
I also hope we get more mid-high end content with 4 players, I'm really enjoying Rathlos Ex.
Boy do I know that ohh soo well, corps-a-corps into a tail swipe. Almost immediate death. Funny enough I have min iLv and this forced me to meld Vit just so I could survive with marginal HP. Looking at it, I'd much have preferred this fight to have all the mechanics do damage proportional to your max HP.. E.g. getting hit deals 90-95% of your maximum HP. Versus fixed damage
