I believe what MsQi is getting at is untying the house from the leader's account and only have the object tied to whatever unique token is used to identify the FC itself. Not a bad idea and would simplify the ownership rules. Accounts would only be tied to personal housing and FC's to FC housing.
I think you guys are talking past eachother. Elamys means it is the almost always the same person or persons (i.e. a single account holder) with multiple characters holding multiple FCs, not one FC with multiple houses. I'm pretty sure you already knew that though, and were just being pedantic because you were trying to make the point that you didn't technically break any rules, which you didn't. I do feel it's worth pointing out that SE has tried, granted unsuccessfully, to curb single account holders using shell FCs to hold multiple houses across their FCs.
On topic, I personally like Dustytome's very simple, very effective suggestion:
I know exactly what they were trying to say. I was just pointing out that FCs are separate entities, regardless of their stance on what is acceptable and what isn't. Bump that to 23 as of a minute ago :)
Also, Dustys' suggestion is very easily bypassed. I mean... deleted characters still count towards the total amount of members :rolleyes:
The real problem is the severe lack of good Gil sinks besides housing. As for me, even half assed crafting has made me 10-20x the Gil that one large mansion costs. What do we spend gil on besides houses? Legit not trying to brag. There are no real good Gil sinks besides houses. Max Gil owners who don't have multiple houses will just give up on this game. One of my good friends has well over max Gil, with one fc large and a personal large. If SE wants to keep them playing this game, (and there are a ton of them), they need more Gil sinks. More 20m mounts, more expandable apts to mansion size, more glams from npcs etc.
I still think the best solution is to decouple gardening and airships/submarines from housing. I don't see any problem with people like OliverB owning 23 FCs if they want to put in the time and effort to level them. The issue is that there are limited plots for housing, but a large number of players are using their house(s) only to access content. If housing is going to be a limited "prestige" resource as SE seems to want, then they need to allow access to the functionality locked behind it via other means and make a house into literally just a trophy item for decorating.
There isn't much to spend gil on is there? Other than housing or market board stuff not used to craft there is are no other efficient gil sinks. Part of the problem is SE creates a new currency for all of the side stuff. Look at all of the seals, tomestones, crystals, ventures, etc that take away the ability to sink gil. I think it is too late but these probably would have been better as tokens that authorize you buy stuff with gil.
Yes, this is another big problem, nobody has anything to spend their gil on. They need to add things like rare glamours, mounts, and minions that can ONLY be obtained from spending gil (no shuffling them into some other content later down the line to "make them easier to get" to encourage people to spend. It can't be tied to anything that provides actual game advantages or anything like that because that just makes it unfair. It has to be for vanity stuff.
Would be worth a try and may encourage some of the players with more then one FC house to let some of them go.
Not against this but I am part of the need more gil party. My own fault though been heavily focused on getting my crafting up and not trying to make much gil. :D
Come on over :-)
