Monster hunter world collab

Looks like a boss fate is incoming...Similar to lightning's fate event. Minion drop to come from it similar to other boss events. Speculation of course but pretty obvious.

Do we.....do we get a PALICO MINION?!?!?!

We're obviously far past the point of no return with XIV, but I do hope if SE ever makes another MMO, they make a realm that actually builds upon its own world, doesn't borrow heavily from its predecessor, and doesn't have these cross-over events that make absolutely no sense.

I mean, I get it. XIV is just pure fan service at this time, but it all feels so cheap.

I just hope with us branching out into all these completely unrelated franchises for events, it means maybe we'll get an Automata event some day.

After Yokai Watch, anything is fair game imo. >_>

I don't see how XIV borrowing heavily from previous FF games is somehow strange, considering every single FF does so. If they do end up making another FF MMO, it'll have just as much stuff from previous FF games.

As for crossover events, it's not like XIV has an abundant amount of those. Heck, the most recent one happened almost one and a half years ago (GARO).

You are probably right on this. Right now, I'm playing Monster Hunter World and I have a lot of fun in it.

Still, as someone who think that a MH-like system could have been great in Eureka, this event hold my attention for once. I hope for the better :)

Also, I don't know if the pun is intended but don't talk about "tempered" to a MH fan. It will just hype them more xD

Excited to finally see a collab with a series I've not only heard of, but actually enjoy!

I was more than prepared to accept jarring visuals, but Rathalos looks pretty good, especially after the Yokai event hot mess.

Anyways, if the fight takes place in the same location as the trailer it'll be in the Azim Steppe so no Eureka but FATE is still a possibility just locked at 70 instead of the usual level. It could also be a high-end trial, though it wouldn't surprise me if its on the lower end of 70 ilvl so any lvl 70 that completes their job quest for armor/weapon can join. But we'll see.

While I don't play MHW I do hope they get a fight in their version as well. Odin has been used for another game and might be interesting for them, though Bahamut or Shinryu would make more sense and be pretty epic probably.

SO EXCITING AGHHHHHHH!

Meanwhile I'm here fingers constantly crossed for a KH event early next year...

You haven't played since Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, eh? They've only been adding more and more story to the games since then. Monster Hunter 4 had a huge story and Monster Hunter World hinges on the story completely. Monster Hunter is famous for it's depth in combat - it's not overly complicated, just refined to make you value every action you take over mindlessly brandishing your weapon like you might in Sengoku Basara.

To be fair, I'd been wondering when we were going to get a legit MonHan crossover. The last boss in Stone Vigil Hard felt like a beginner's MonHan fight (all dodge-able hits, everything telegraphed, etc), Bismarck was practically a rip off of Jhen Mohran ( boat/island with durability the whale attacks, sky whale/sand whale, bind it to stop attacks and mount it for "big damage," the "dragon killers"/dragonater) and The Steps of Faith gave me the same hype feels when I first fought Lao Shan-lung in MHFU. I'm so glad it looks like this event isn't being thrown into Eureka (hate the instance and that'd heavily gate who'd be able to actually experience the event, considering how it has its own leveling system and elements).

Not to mention the Final Fantasy collaboration with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Nomura's Diablos armor for your hunter and felyne. Thought that was awfully strange; was used to seeing Shonen Jump and Capcom title crossovers, but a Square Enix one felt completely out of place.

Here's hoping this one actually sticks around like the Garo stuff, always kinda sad when these collabs come and go. Noticed there was no end date announced.

I hope it sticks around or comes back around at some point. I have six characters total and only one is past all but the latest of the MSQ. The others haven't started or are somewhere in the middle. xD No way am I gonna get them all up before this event.

Its probably hunts, and that is why its for level 70s.

"over complicated gameplay" the same ol song and dance i here from people who cant get into monster hunter.
that's fine its all a personal preference but you cant say they have no story or appealing characters unless you haven't played a game since the PSP version and MH main focus is game play and on that alone it became a popular series plus nice monster and armor design, MH world didnt simplify the gameplay it just added some QoL touches the series did(and didn't) need.

Get a quest, do a fate that might be repeatable, get minions/glamour. That's all it will be most likely.

What about MHW gear and weapons? We need more than just a pretty mount and cute minion to make the collaboration quests really worth doing! D8 I liked how for the FFXIII crossover event we got multiple different weapons for the ARR classes (besides Rogue/Ninja) and enough two outfits, even though they were gender locked. Still a little salty about that part. But it was really nice and made the whole event worth doing more so!

I would LOVE to dress up as some of the more popular characters from MHW or famous gear and weapons from that game!

Would be great to see a DRK with the iconic jawbone blade.

So long as it's not mind-numbingly boring a la the Yokai event, I could care less.

We'd better get a felyne minion out of this.
Also: I'll be disappointed if we don't get the mats as drops from the monsters and then craft them ourselves to make the gear.
Also also: I hope they're cheeky and give the drops MH icons instead of XIV ones.
And: I hope on the MHW side of things, they add namazu wandering around in missions you can kick.

I'm not sure why I never considered this as a possible collab with SE has already done stuff with MH on multiple occasions.

I hope the Rathalos doesn't have an enmity table for a more authentic experience.

Click on "Join the Hunt." It tells you there that you need to get to 70 and complete the quest "Stormblood."

I think the collab itself is great, but I am not a fan of the SB + lvl 70 restriction. That means that a lot of people wont be able to take part in this. If this is a longer collab like Garo it might be fine but if its a shorter time restricted one then I find this a bit bad. Especially if we get exclusive items from it.

Anyway still nice idea. (And I really wish that I had the cat as a fighting partner)

Edit: They have even written that people that want to take part in this but are too low might use a jump potion. :'D

Mh that 70 and stormblood complete requirement makes me think it won't be just a fate farm.
Unless it's a lv70 FATE but the items can be bought off the vendors in the reach that spawn after you complete the story

(I'm pulling at straws here, but Ixion has those requirements too in a way)
