its when he turns red and the mechanic speeds up and takes 50% longer man, not that. That I can dodge.

It doesn't matter, she'll write off your experience as "Oh you just have a good connection."
Yeah, clip it.
Will do as soon as I'm done with today's stream. I'll edit this post.
As promised

Does it really matter if you need sprint to clear it Riyah, or am I missing something?
Yeah, this was pretty nuts. Especially when that gear hovering crap goes off and you need to run (or sprint) to the corner cuz no other spot is safe, and then his lazer beam goes off and you need to bolt to get to him, and then keep bolting... It seemed very fast-paced. I was just doing another raid (Void Ark) where I noticed there was more time to react to mechs than there was in Construct 7.
If you'd look at the player Bobo Bonobo, he dies exactly the way I do, getting clipped by the last hit. This is despite him being at the back of the mob at the same time you are and starting running as you do as well. So it proves both of us, I feel. The mechanic, due to the extended attacks, can be impossible to complete without sprint due to server positioning mismatching your client position. There was an issue with savage and knockback that was similar, two people getting knocked back but one had slightly different server positoning and made people fail the mechanic. I still feel that yes, sprint is required for enough players due to that, and it breaks what Yoshi said.
For comparison's sake, something like Royal menagerie's rush can be done without sprint by lookig as you fall for a corner.
LOL And here am I that once I outrunned him without sprint because I was too close.
People die in new content in the first week. Film at 11? I've run this twice, and last night people did pretty well on the lasers. Even the newbies. They were told "stay close". That's the real trick. This raid has some fights that actively discourage ranged to be as possible by making it harder to live out there.
If your hardware/connection requires sprint, use sprint. It's hardly a game breaking problem, sprint is something you have access to.
Pun intended? :D
Did you see the chart showing a global spike in google searches on "prime numbers" when the raid came out? Good stuff!
More people lived than died to the move & the ones who did weren't in position to begin with when the move started.
The person you are looking at doesn't stay right next to his hitbox. They veer off path more than they should've AND they stopped moving altogether, which is why they died.
Watching him, he also doesn't hug the boss's hitbox tightly as he moves, roughly around :22 you see him move lightly out from the boss's hitbox and doesn't return. At the time of his death, he was farther away from the hitbox than most of the other players.
You can also see that he casts a Jolt II as the first laser is happening, which sets him back even farther.
This mechanic heavily encourages player to use the boss's hitbox, this "forbidden zone" to a lot of players, to make the movement much easier. Considering other mechanics have done this before: Shrinyu EX's wormwail, Soaking hatches from within Twintania's hitbox in T5, etc, I don't think using a boss's hitbox is bad design.
At any rate, this mechanic most certainly doesn't "require" sprint, it's only QoL. If someone has like >300 latency then they need to adjust for that fact using the boss's hitbox.
I mostly only use Sprint if I want to get back into the middle of the room ASAP (and forget Corp-a-corp is a thing. Different story when playing MNK), which means it'll wear off by the time Dispose goes off. Haven't been hit by it since day one (as you can probably see on my buff bar, Sprint has already been used and wears off just as Dispose is done being 'cast')
Australian on American server, 150-200 ping, etc etc.
Need to react fast and stick close to the boss... A few times I've been afraid I'd outrun his turning rate and run into the last lasers or two. And with Sprint it might be possible to happen....
Keep a tight circle and keep running ahead. Don't need sprint, but sprint helps. People also use sprint in other fights to maximize DPS uptime, like O7S and O8S.
While I agree Sprint isn't necessary to avoid Dispose I agree it can really help.
When I ran this last night the comment was made in discord that this place should be called "Sprint: The Raid" because of how often it's on CD, particularly for the last two bosses. It's definitely seeing more use but is also not necessary.
Welp, don't know what to tell you anymore. Provided excellent videos that show people dodging it the day after patch dropped. I feel like nothing will please you at this point.
LOL not surprised.
Most people don't have a sufficient education these days to even know what a prime number is.
In my case the idiots who ran the raid when i did my first run didn't bother to speak English and just hur durred the explanation.
When I ignored them - I got it nailed.
As to the OP's obvious lack of understanding beyond even my reasoning...she is likely under geared....and having connection issues.
I got clipped a couple of times...I didn't the last go around when I literally got in the guys face....and yes..it really is math.
The closer you are to the center point of a circle....the shorter the path...the faster the orbit. ( I didn't use sprint...didn't need it...my gear let me survive one hit at least)
It's common sense....or I guess...un-common sense it seems.
But yes...please continue blaming the dev's. Works every time right?
PS: I was Red Mage :P
You know, one thing that seems to get people killed is trying to outrun the beam after getting hit once which just results in getting wombo comboed into oblivion. If you can’t avoid it just get hit once and let the beam rotate past you (you might need to go opposite the beam a bit to make sure you’re out of the next pulse)—then you can resume following after it. Even with poor latency that should give you enough of a head start to avoid the rest even when he’s spicy.
Yeah Sprint isn't needed... I danced around him and kept attacking at the same time on my SAM... no Sprint, no getting hit...
I still can't do this part idk what it is because the fast spamming of dispose seems to lag me a bit. I always pop Sprint and hug his ass but that last 2/3 still clip me and I always feel like I'm ahead of it. I'm obviously in the minority in this, but I'd at least like dispose to not flash so fast so I can see where it actually is instead of lagging.
