Adding that I submitted a bug report and it has been added to the accepted bugs list. Hopefully this means they'll fix it soon.

The Eerie skirt from Halloween has to be one of the best skirt cuts in the whole game...and then its attached to some MEGA fugly tights.

Thirding? this. Like...almost all the good skirts have some leggings on it and its annoying as hell. Not sure why they keep doing this. Like the sui skirt is a good skirt, it has those random wraps around it(nin and healer) But it still looks nice, only thing is only they can wear it. SE Needs to just make a normal cute skirt.

Those few extra inches of skin + undies will cost you ~15M vs. 12k. :X

Not to mention that if you really want the extra skin, you can just throw on a bikini bottom and run around with the low waistline and no tights at all. xD

So glad to hear it. I admit that I didn’t immediately think of it as a bug, so wasn’t sure the mods would honor a request to have it looked into. Atleast now we can all hope it will be corrected soon.

I personally liked how the newest whm af feet were designed - essentially as a pair of heels with tight attached. I really like this idea and hope they give us more designs like it so we can mix-match our skirts with the tights or shoes we want.

Sadly this was not fixed this patch and I doubt it ever will - welp at least the upcoming summer top goes nice with the skirt.

I posted the same thing in the other thread, but I will reiterate; this is not the quality we expect from SE. If such beautifully designed gear cannot be used in a majority of cases, then it should be addressed properly and not swept under the rug.

Just adding in that I'd also like more options in plain shirts without all the extra... stuff... around the waist or on the sleeves.

I loved that skirt... but I'm going to hold off on getting it until I know I can pair it with something that won't cause it to disappear.

I hadn't said anything about this since I was hoping it would have been fixed in the "hot fixes" patch. Super disappointed that it hasn't been addressed! SE Please fix this one skirt.

not to be a downer but this isn't a quaintrelle's skirt problem.
This has been around for a long time, I know the eastern ladies loincloth and the bunny tights both do the same thing and probably a lot more as well

Sure the bunny tights turning into simple fishnets is likely seen as a good thing but it is the same thing causing it for all of them

Agreed, but I think there's also been a recent change to that mechanic where even minor details on leg gear that once didn't disappear now disappear when paired with things that extend below the waist. Which only makes the skirt problem worse since it literally can't be paired with anything other than a bikini top unless you happen to be a miqo'te or so. It's just one of those cases where it's not a bug, it's a feature, but it's not a particularly good or popular feature so hopefully if people continue to complain about it it'll eventually get treated as a bug and re-worked.

This reminds me of old 2.x (before glamours) issue with WHM bottoms + Allagan tunic of healing (BiS combo) in which the skirt also disappeared.
Imagine having to run around flashing your panties and having no choice, aside from equipping another set.

I don’t think there’s much skirt *to* vanish from the ARR WHM relic gear, if that’s what you’re talking about! It’s more like a frill, and isn’t long enough to cover anything even if it’s the only thing you’ve got equipped.

I'm okay with them hiding the skirt (or items like this by default) but they should give us an option to override the auto-hide. That way if we want to deal with the clipping, we can. Heck, some clipping situations could end up looking pretty cool because they clip something just right to make the combination look better.

Just let us make the final call.

Yeah! It truly needs fixing! How come I've spent lots and lots of gil for a skirt that I can't wear! Princess dress is clipping a lot and no one cares, give us our skirt!

I can't see SE fixing this to be honest they always take the "learn for next time approach" like the Minfilia outfit everyone wanted it in separate pieces and the never changed it all that they did was made sure the next outfits came separate....oh and if they are gonna change it while they at it they can change the bloody faire joi top too so that it doesn't hide neck pieces?! What's that about?!

I doubt that it is really difficult to fix the skirt, I hope it will be soon.
They could leave it as with this jacket and each one would decide how or with what to use it.

yea I agree, first time I tried it on as a set I was like oh the skirt disappears. I feel like se tries to lean towards not clipping on things (even tho a lot of things already clip) but really the player base doesn't care, and would much rather stuff clip then hide the item. same goes for longer hairstyles! my forever attempt to throw that in so that maybe se will do it one day.

So... I'm guessing this comes down to how the rules are set up on whether elements display or not.

It's clear that leg items are programmed with a "fixed" element (in this case the underwear and socks) and sometimes a "variable" element (the skirt).

From this I'm guessing that each chestpiece comes with an instruction to either display or hide the variable part of the leg item, and the jacket has it set to display.

Also I've just purchased the "Eastern Lady's Togi" set from Mog Station and found it has a similar issue to this with the 'loincloth' item that is supposed to pair with the dress... except it vanishes when the dress is equipped, and the slits in the side of the dress are high enough to show off your visible underwear.

You've got it back-to-front.

As much as they love giving us those harness/subligar sets for ARR leveling gear, they don't make you wear it. You can choose to glamour over it or just ignore it and equip different gear. (I leveled most of my classes through ARR before they allowed glamour access for players below Lv50. Sarouels and sensible coats all the way.)

This skirt isn't leveling gear. It's a glamour piece that people want to be wearing instead of the leveling gear. That's it's only purpose, and it can't be used for it.

It's as if you found an item that looks like a nice pair of pants, but when you equip it with a shirt, the pants vanish and you're left wearing a shirt and underwear.

(Also while it doesn't change the rest of the issue, it's not from Mog Station. It's an in-game crafted item that people will pay a lot of gil for. Or at least they would, if it could actually be worn.)
